  1. Pretty good list. Ellis has some really nice athleticism for a big dude. Think he finds a way onto the field somehow. Youboty looked very solid. Gotta think he is ahead of Corner at this point. Was pretty happy with everyone of note. Only negative was Poz. He looked really slow, hopefully he is not 100% yet.
  2. I think Maybin has looked pretty good playing against the back-ups. McCargo has as well. At this point, I think it's best to just forget about where they were drafted and evaluate them as back-ups. Maybin looks better than Coleman, who is his competition to make the roster. McCargo might get caught up in the numbers, but he has played like the best lineman of the 2nd stringers.
  3. Brohm looked sharp and very decisive. He also has some nice movement in the pocket. Trent earned another start, but Brohm definitely improved his standing.
  4. Not saying the 30% sale is the Bills, but Kelly can be the broker (more likely a go-between who has access to Ralph and convinced him to do this) and an advisor would still be hired to structure the sale properly for all those involved. If someone is selling 30% and doesn't know who the buyers are, I'd think it would be for sale right now.
  5. He's got to clean up his throwing motion. He has a great arm but the ball comes out very high on all his throws. I assume that's why he struggles with the shorter throws and why his completion percentage isn't great. Like that he plays against the best competition and like that he plays in front of a football-obsessed fanbase. However, I assume Gailey will be frothing at the mouth to get Locker or Luck due to their mobility. Luck has the all the physical tools to be a #1 overall pick. Kid is impressive but we'll see how he does without Gerhart as a security blanket. Don't think Locker throws it good enough to be a #1 overall pick.
  6. With the options we currently have and the present O-Line, count me in the Fitzpatrick camp. He is nifty in the pocket, not afraid to take a hit, and isn't afraid to throw the ball downfield. Edwards might be more accurate with a red jersey on and no pass rush but he is useless once he senses a rush, and there will be plenty of pressure with this O-Line.
  7. Agree with all of this. Also think the League figured out that their secondary can cheat towards the line of scrimmage because Edwards doesn't throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field. It's like playing against a red zone defense on the entire field.
  8. The most frustrating thing to watch is defenses only having to defend the first 10 yards of the field. Hall was jumping routes the entire time Trent was in. Might as well run 60% of the time and have a strong armed QB back there who can stretch the field occasionally to keep defenses honest. Defenses don't respect Trent at all and it bottles up the whole offense.
  9. If there is truly a God, Bills fans will be spared another year of watching Edwards and Fitzpatrick.
  10. Agreed. Edwards has taken too many big hits. He can look good in practice with the red jersey on, but once it's live and he can get hit, he loses his composure and feels the pressure.
  11. More about the significance of it. Ralph has no reason to sell other than a signal to what his plans are once he dies. There's no point to sell 30% for estate tax purposes. Once Ralph dies his heirs can sell 100%, pay the estate tax from the proceeds and avoid capital gains taxes. If Ralph sells 30% before he dies, he'll have to pay capital gains on the 30% and won't avoid any of the estate tax.
  12. Highly unlikely Ralph would sell a minority interest to a non-Buffalo group while he is still alive. Why spend the time you have left as a villain? If he sells to a Toronto group, it will probably be 100% once he's gone.
  13. Took a sports business class he taught at Columbia a few years back. He talked as if he had a relationship with Ralph in the past. Not sure if that means anything as Sal seems to work with most of the professional sports teams out there. Sal also joked about Ralph basically making money every year of the Bills existence and banking it instead of putting it back into the team.
  14. Not sure I'd want him as my team's coach, but I think Rex Ryan is great for the NFL. He's the anti-Belichik and all the other fellow d-bags from the Belichik tree.
  15. Isn't Ellis currently behind Ellis and Torbor on the depth chart, and Kelsay when he gets back?
  16. One of the most screwed up things in sports is what the top of the 1st rounders in the NFL get paid. Keeps the bad teams bad and ruins careers.
  17. More athletes need to take the Jeter route. What is the point of getting married and having kids when you're going to cheat on your wife and not be around for your kids? Dudes don't have biological clocks and they're not politicians who need families for appearance sake.
  18. If I was a 10 year vet making $6m+, changing positions and the Bills signed Dwan Edwards and drafted Carrington, I'd be worried about keeping a roster spot at that price. If Stroud got cut, he'd have a hard time getting anywhere near what he is scheduled to make this year.
  19. Wilson Read the last 3 paragraphs.
  20. Ralph has always said the Super Bowl should be played in good weather conditions. He doesn't think weather conditions should affect the championship game. Interesting because the Bills are one of a handful of teams that might benefit from a wintry Super Bowl.
  21. I actually like that Edwards is standing up for himself. Doesn't mean he's gonna win the starting job, but good for him. The Bills are in desperate need of new memories, and the sooner Thurman and Kelly aren't in the headlines every other week the better.
  22. Given the Bills QB situation, I really hope they at least kick the tires on where Russell's head is at. I wish we weren't in a position where someone like Russell at least has to be considered. If he can get himself in shape, I'm not sure why he isn't a better option than Brohm.
  23. Kind of hard to do without knowing how much money these players are due this year and next. Someone like Stroud who signed a big contract extension 2 years ago might stick around if most of the money has already been paid. If he's owed $6-7m each the next 2 years, you probably don't keep him unless he suddenly becomes an excellent defensive end. Kelsay, Spencer Johnson, and Mitchell fall in the same boat in terms of how much money is owed them this year and next. I think Maybin gets at least another year, considering he only played 2 years in college and is still very young.
  24. Gailey and Nix are good ol' boys from down South. Mortenson is part of that club.
  25. I think he lets way too many punts bounce and roll 20 yards down the field. Not sure if he misjudges a lot of punts or is trying to pad his punt return average, but he was a negative factor in a lot of games last year. He is too small and not powerful enough to break tackles as a WR. As a punt returner, he operates in space that you don't get playing offense or even returning kicks. He's a great punt returner when he actually catches the ball, but his contract and Spiller + McKelvin probably means he doesn't make the team.
