  1. This raises major questions about him just as it did with Locker last year. Probably moreso because it looks like he's losing his coach and Carolina came out and said they'd take him at #1. Gotta question his competitive nature. What's he got left to prove at the college level?
  2. I agree with a lot of what you are saying. Fitz is almost the perfect QB to have when drafting a Qb at the top of the draft. He's smart, seems like a team guy, you don't have to throw the rookie out there immediately, and he provides a nice benchmark for a rookie to overcome to get on the field. Newton will be the guy Nix has to make the decision on at #3.
  3. The way this franchise has drafted in the 1st round, I'd give up as many future 1st rounders as the League will allow in a trade.
  4. As bad as our Front 7 is, our CB's are horrible against the run. Can't remember a single time this year a CB has come up and made a stop.
  5. If Jets rest their starters, Brohm should start as well as guys like Maybin and McCargo. Who cares if Fitzpatrick carves up the Jets 2nd stringers? Can't take anything from it and you could lose a lot of draft slots.
  6. What a joke. I'm sure the the Strength and Conditioning thought that up all by himself.
  7. He's not big and plays stiff. The blitz yesterday where he was basically unblocked and ran right past Roethlisberger illustrated all his shortcomings. Couldn't slow down and change directions.
  8. Evans is afraid to get hit. He is necessary to stretch the field, but the way he avoids contact is maddening. He is the anti Hines Ward.
  9. Why not? The guy probably has more career sacks than our entire team and is still young. Sign him to a reasonable 1 year deal. If he's done, so be it. I'd rather piss away a couple $million on Merriman's chances than Maybin's.
  10. Ideal scenario would be winning 2-3 games, be competitive in every game, still get the #1 pick, Merriman re-finds his form and likes it here, and Luck declares for the draft.
  11. Good job by Bell completely whiffing on that block.
  12. I used to wonder why we didn't blitz more. Not anymore.
  13. Applaud your effort but not sure how you get around the $150m debt cap to purchase an NFL team. Your website mentions this, but that is a huge hurdle to overcome. Unsecured debt is probably a non-starter because why would Bills fans line some billionaire's pockets by giving him/her a below market loan.
  14. Not defending the play calling, but playing for a tie when you are 0-6 would make me more mad. Hope every game they play goes deep into over-time so some of these bums can earn their paychecks.
  15. Agreed. I assume he's not that far away from his degree as this is his 3rd year and scholarship football/basketball players usually take both summer sessions. You only have so many physically productive years to play football. He can always finish his degree over a couple summers and if he cares about football, his non-football professional career is 10+ years away regardless.
  16. If you don't have a franchise QB, Fitz is a nice baseline QB to have. Doesn't fool you into thinking you don't need a franchise QB, but good enough to evaluate the rest of the offense.
  17. Agreed. If that's what it takes to get Luck to enter, do it. Harbaugh would be an upgrade over Gailey and you get the franchise QB. If you're Harbaugh, there's only so much winning you can do at Stanford with their academic standards and he's probably close to that ceiling. Plus he gets the chance to coach a franchise QB whom he knows. If Kelsay is getting $6m per year, money shouldn't be an issue.
  18. Locker very well may have sub-par talent around him, but with a #1 overall pick especially if the Bills are picking it has to be as close to a sure thing as possible. I'll take the less risky Luck and if he doesn't come out, Dareus from Alabama looks like a sure-fire stud.
  19. I was thinking about that quote by Gailey about Ellis as well. Some things just don't add up. Either there are locker room things going on we don't know about, Gailey is bi-polar, or someone is forcing Gailey to make these moves.
  20. Moss is only under contract through this year. Evans has 2 years left after this one at a very reasonable number. So, yes I think 3 years of Evans at a relatively low price is worth more than Moss for a year.
  21. I'd also think this would make him more enticing to someone. However, Evans causes no problems and he's not preventing anyone who should be on the field from being on the field. Our rookie QB is gonna have to throw to somebody next year, so unless we get at least a 2nd rounder, I'd say no way to a trade.
  22. Trading Stroud makes a lot of sense. Might as well play McCargo some more and get Carrington some time too. If the Bills can get anything for Whitner, they should do it George Wilson was one of our best players last year and needs to get back on the field. Byrd seemed to play well along-side Wilson as well. Most disappointing thing so far for me is that the current regime didn't learn from last year that Edwards, Lynch, and Whitner were out-played by Fitz, Fred, and Wilson.
  23. I agree. Forget the draft picks for Lynch. GM's over-value them and Lynch is worth way more than a 4th round pick and probably even a 3rd round pick. At this point, I'd consider taking Hawk but would prefer Bulaga because our LB's are that bad. I'd also start dangling one of our safeties to the Colts. Not sure what they have on their roster that they'd part with, Polian isn't afraid to trade good draft picks. He was going to give us a 4th for McCargo.
  24. Not one for hyperbole, but the defense stinks. Can't play the run, can't play the pass, can't rush the passer.
  25. Bills' defense is not NFL-worthy. Huge holes for RB's and uncovered WR's are what you see in college mis-matches, not in an NFL game. Coordinator needs his pink slip.
