Gotta imagine Jackson is the target with Nix saying we're gonna aggressively target a difference-maker and now all these tweets from Bills players to Jackson. Lots of ways to skin a cat. We'd have a lot of money tied up in WR's, but we'd also potentially have an inexpensive O-Line if we can find a starting LT at pick #10.

Nicks, Jackson, Williams... any guy who is a difference maker I'm all for. Don't care what position he plays. If we have to overpay free agents to come here, might as well swing for the fences and overpay All Pro's.

Have mixed feelings about retaining Bell. On one hand, he has been injured a lot. On the other hand, he's still young and Bills have to retain their own since we will never be a top free agent destination. The cycle of letting good players walk and trying to replace them in the draft has prevented the Bills from building a playoff contender.

+1 I'd like tebow as a backup/sub-package guy too. Type of guy Gailey could get creative with, but the circus that follows him isn't worth it for a backup.

I just don't see how someone is gonna give him a big contract. You can't gamble your QB's health on the the hope that Bell can remain healthy.

Seriously. Success of Cam Newton in his 1st year is skewing the thought that these guys are can't miss. If Jamarcus Russell was taken last year instead of 5 years ago, no way Rams get that kind of bounty.

Interesting angle no one is talking about is that the Colts could have kept Manning and got even more draft picks than the Rams are getting.

That's crazy. Talk about a panic move. Even if it pans out for Skins, the value of the pick for the Rams was only going to decrease once Manning and Flynn got signed.

Yes, it'd be better to get Mario, but the guy can basically pick his team. This team is in desperate need of pass rushers and if Indy is dumb enough to trade Freeney, get it done.

Instead of spending $10m per year on Bell and Chandler, sign Vincent Jackson, then get an upgrade at LT with pick #10 and get a Tight End by the end of Round 4 to replace Chandler.

Can definitely see an LT with our 1st round pick. If injury-prone Bell is gonna command a decent contract, and you can get a starting caliber LT at pick #10, you do it. #10 pick last year was Gabbert and he signed a 4 year $12m contract with option for a 5th year. Upgrading an important position while spending less to do so makes a lot of sense.

If Nix knows that the Rams want too much, that would mean the Bills were one of the teams interested in trading up for Griffin. Not sure how this thread devolved into a discussion of CB's, but Bills interest in Griffin is certainly big news to me.

A 1st and 2nd this year plus a 1st and 3rd next year, plus Spiller or Williams is probably what it would take to get Griffin. I'd guess St. Louis would prefer not trading Griffin to a team in their own conference unless the compensation is way better than other offers. Manning will probably go to the Skins or Dolphins so that eliminates one Griffin contender.

Who is gonna pay huge money to a guy who's known as much if not more for his antics than his on-field play? Bills know him best. Hard to think a team that doesn't know him as well is gonna take that chance. The guy made the league minimum his 1st 4 years. Doubt he's gonna turn down $9 million to hold out and hope someone gives up draft compensation and a lucrative long-term contract.

Nix seems like a pretty straight shooter. I'm sure they'll try to keep Johnson for the right price. Not sure what the franchise tag is WR's, but that might be the best route to go with Johnson. Make him prove he can produce another year and be antic-free before committing long-term money.

Lee might be a good guy, but that play unfortunately displayed his Charmin softness. Great deep ball receiver but afraid of contact. Just glad I don't have to hear all the excuses for why isn't more productive as a Bill.

Stevie is a nice possession receiver. Cruz is in another league than Stevie. Reminds me of Moulds in his prime. Could make an argument that Cruz has been the MVP of the League the last 2 months

Whitner is an immature clown. Knocks a guy out with a helmet-to-helmet hit. Ball is loose and guy is woozy on the ground, and Dante goes into dance flexing his muscles. He can thank Smith and Davis for not being the goat of that game. Decent player. Glad he's not a Bill.

This guy was too good to even interview for the Bills job. Maybe his daddy can get him another job. Gotta imagine he gets no respect from the players with his little goatee, the way he acts and looks like a weasel, and the nepotism that has gotten him where he is.

We'd probably have to be higher than #8 to have a realistic shot at a trade. Vick got traded for a #5 pick, a 2nd and 5th? the next year, and Tim Dwight. Manning got traded for a #4 pick, and 1st, 3rd and 5th the next year. Luck's price would most likely come at a premium to Manning and Vick, but it looks like 4 picks/players historically has been the going rate for #1 overall picks. So it would probably take a top 5 pick this year and maybe a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd next year. I'd do it if I were the Bills. I wouldn't move up from #8 if it required 6 draft picks all in the 1st 3 rounds.

Bump this thread. Indy beats Jax next week and it will get very interesting. Not that unlikely that St. Louis or Minnesota would listen to trade offers for Luck.
