  1. Unfortunately, getting it wrong on a 1st round QB is a fatal mistake for a GM in the NFL. Not picking EJ means we could've had Carr this year, who I think could become a franchise QB. Trading up for Sammy looks like a bad move when you consider how deep the WR talent was in last year's draft. Koundjio looks like a bust.
  2. Either Whaley or Maronne has to go. Someone has to be accountable for not only picking Manuel in 1st round, but rolling with Tuel and Thad last year and doing nothing to upgrade QB in offseason and being forced to over-pay Orton out of retirement.
  3. Coaching can only do so much when you don't have above average QB play. Unfortunately, that's the way the NFL works. 1st round mistakes at QB usually take a couple years to overcome. I'd keep Marrone around, and get rid of Whaley.
  4. Will be interesting to see what Bills do at QB. Hopefully Orton continues his solid play, but there always seems to be highly regarded QB's who fall in the draft. And there are only 4 teams (Tampa, St. Louis, Jets, Houston) who are threats to take a 1st round QB.
  5. Stats aside, I thought Bradham had a brutal game. 3 personal foul penalties, a false start on offense, and most of Vick's scramble yards in 2nd qtr came at Bradham's expense. Not his best day.
  6. Too much of a clown-show as a head coach. A damn good defensive coach though. Would take him as a D-Coordinator if we were in need of one. Added benefit that he knows the division especially the Pats well. That was a plus with Pettine too. Lucky for Bills, this is our NFC North year.
  7. Props to Marrone for pulling the plug on Manuel now, but if it was my job on the line, I would've been going ape-$#!% for another QB the second Kolb got hurt. If you knew that you might pull the plug this early, I don't understand why we weren't more aggressive going after QB's in the off-season, whether it be the draft or free agency. Probably could've got Bridgewater or Carr for the Kuandjio pick + the Bryce Brown pick.
  8. I don't consider 5 yd passes across the middle an example of accuracy or arm strength.
  9. I've never seen Manuel fire a pass anywhere. The guy doesn't have good arm talent. Only so many plays you can run when you have a QB who can't zip passes into tight spaces and also has accuracy issues.
  10. Tuel tore it up in the pre-season too. Doesn't take too long for NFL defenses to figure a guy out. Manuel has no fastball. There's a lot throws he's hesitant to make because he doesn't trust his arm. Slightly better version of Trent Edwards.
  11. Don't have high hopes for Orton, but I've seen enough from Manuel. At least Orton can get the ball to WR's, and make the defense cover the whole field.
  12. With $1.4B after-tax dollars, I hope Mary Wilson does the right thing and buys the naming rights to any new stadium. $200m for new stadium to be called Ralph Wilson stadium for next 30-40 years.
  13. Watching unathletic, aging QB's like Eli and Palmer, makes it all the more amazing the longevity of Brady and Peyton Manning.
  14. I don't have a problem with any of this. Shows these guys actually want to win.
  15. Seattle's center was getting a 3-4 yard push on most run plays. Very impressive. Gotta match Seattle's violence to have any chance against them. Better version of the old Houston Oilers 'House of Pain'. Watching Wilson and Rodgers, EJ needs to play faster and be more decisive.
  16. Loved Carr prior to draft. Would've been upset if he lasted to our 2nd round pick and we passed. Raiders got lucky he fell into their laps.
  17. Sounds believable. If you're gonna get rid of the only QB behind Manuel who's won an NFL game, you better get me a true #2 instead of Palmer, who's a #3 at best.
  18. Excellent post. Agree with all points. Bills almost have to trade for Ponder now. Thad wasn't a world-beater, but at least he could win you a game. Tuel is a practice squad QB. Palmer has never played.
  19. How can these guys not be thinking about how badly they neglected the QB position? They'll more than likely lose their jobs because of it, so it wouldn't surprise that they could be having heated discussions about it. Brandon is probably the only semi-safe one of the 3. I personally think they should've dumped Tuel instead of Thad. Can't see Tuel ever winning an NFL game.
  20. Hard to argue with any of this. 2nd year in a row that there is nothing behind Manuel. Negligence to treat most important position like this. Should've taken Nassib in 4th round last year instead of Duke Williams. Can't wait for players to fall in your lap and hope things work out when it comes to QB.
  21. Disagree. These guys are professionals. If the team is giving a poor effort, they deserve to be boo'ed. If they aren't mentally tough enough, they should pick a different profession. Regardless if it was against 2nd stringers, I think the boo'ing woke up Manuel and for the 1st time I saw him finally cutting it loose.
  22. I'm rooting for Pegula as much as anyone, but wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if someone else with Buffalo ties won the bid. If Pegula owns the Bills, Sabres, and perhaps a new Bills stadium, that's a lot of eggs in one basket as far as the WNY region is involved. God forbid something happened to him, or there is some kind of Rigas or Haslam situation.
  23. Unfortunately, it's hard to argue with any of this.
  24. Foles was 4-8 at Arizona his senior year. Historically, 5-7 at Duke is not a bad year.
  25. Business is business. If true that only 3 groups advanced, pointless to keep Trump and Toronto group around. They are not serious bidders. Bonjovi winning bid would cause riots in Buffalo and Trump even if he truly wants the team probably wouldn't get approval from enough owners. Trust and Morgan Stanley f'd up by treating this sale like this was gonna be an LA Clippers type situation with multiple serious bidders and a sky-rocketing price. You could count on 2, maybe 3 fingers the amount of people capable of paying over $1B and interested in keeping team in WNY. Team is Pegula's if he wants it. Just run the risk of pissing him off and him lowering his bid or pulling it altogether the longer this drags on.
