  1. If Trubisky was 2 inches taller, he'd be going to Cleveland at 1. He's the same size as Derek Carr. I'd be happy with Trubisky at 10. If he's gone, trade back and take Mahomes or Watson.
  2. Don't know the statistics, but I would think teams with a new coach trade back a lot more than they trade up. If I were a new coach however, I'd be doing everything I could to get a QB if I didn't already have a franchise one. Would be really surprised if Bills don't draft a QB with one of their top 2 picks.
  3. Reminds me of Alex Van Pelt. Doesn't look like he has a fastball. Every throw is touch. Too bad we can't combine him and Cardale into one player.
  4. Howard might be a nice trade down option for a team like Tampa or the Giants who have their QB and are going for it. Howard is too much of a luxury pick for Bills.
  5. Reminds me of rich gannon from a physical tools perspective. Quick feet, good athlete, strong/accurate arm, and also seems like a tough kid. Not sure I'd take him at 10, but wouldn't complain if Bills did.
  6. Clay has 3 years and $13.5m left on his deal, none of it guaranteed. 10th pick in draft last year Eli Apple signed a 4 year $15m deal. Money tied up in Tight End position shouldn't preclude Bills from taking OJ if he's the guy they want. Clay has a dead cap hit of $9m if you cut him next year and $4.5m in 2 years. If you're not taking a QB at #10, Howard probably makes more sense than a WR since Taylor is your QB next 2 years.
  7. If a players' coach like Carroll is done with him, no thanks.
  8. This is a win by Whaley anyway you look at it. Player founds out his true value, and you get him for 2 years not 1 at what would've been a round 2 tender
  9. Go get a pass rusher. Giants are the team who've always given Patriots most trouble because they knocked the hell out of Brady. Solomon Thomas reminds me of a young Justin Tuck. Versatile DL who lives in the backfield.
  10. What is the point of zipping the ball against no defenders? Nobody is gonna tip or intercept the ball. Colt McCoy having the same combine velocity as Joe Flacco tells me all I need to know about the usefulness of measuring combine velocity.
  11. I actually trust Whaley with these type of signings. Who wanted Zach Brown, Lorax, or Groy last year now most people are gonna be upset if we lose them.
  12. This is comparable to measuring a pitchers velocity in the bullpen. Velocity during a game is much more important and only really matters on certain throws. The fact that Flacco was only measured at 55 mph tells me all I need to know about these measurements. Flacco probably throws with most velocity of any QB since Elway and Favre.
  13. Pay some undrafted free agent to deliver late hits to Brady until he gets kicked out of game. Then do it again the 2nd game. That strategy would be more effective than anything we've done the past 15 years.
  14. Say what you want about Whaley, but he has a knack for finding those type of guys. Just let someone else draft a QB.
  15. How is not trying to win a path? When does Cleveland let everyone in building know, "now it's ok to try to win". Bills went through almost a 10 year purgatory after Donahoe flamed out where winning was not the main goal (Toronto series, uncertainty with ownership situation and if team was even gonna stay in Buffalo). You don't just turn a switch back on. Taking on other teams bad contracts for draft picks wins the internet geeks, but it has to be demoralizing for players, fans and coaches who actually care about winning on the field. It's basically just throwing your hands up and saying we have no chance to win so we'll try something crazy.
  16. Ha. Jedi mind tricks from belichik. Get Cleveland fans all excited, and raise the price to three 1st rounders.
  17. If this is to get garropolo, it makes sense. Otherwise they are in perpetual tank mode and just collecting assets.
  18. Yes. Cleveland is so smart. Maybe they can sell tickets to the draft instead of actual games.
  19. Whether or not it's a smart move, it's an embarrassment to the NFL and Cleveland. They're trying to turn the NFL into the NBA.
  20. I believe this when it actually happens. Can't see New England giving big money to Gilmore. Wouldn't surprise me if like yesterday with Tyrod, suddenly Malcolm butler or Logan Ryan agree to an extension.
  21. Paying big money for WR's is a waste of resources with Tyrod coming back. Pay for a RT, TE or a safety.
  22. Interesting that Bills were leaders for Wagner, jusczyk, with rumors of Hoyer interest, then in about an hour word leaks of restructured deal with Tyrod and Wagner, Jusczyk, and Hoyer all sign with other teams. Whaley was clearly prepared to move on if Tyrod didn't accept a significant pay cut.
  23. That's the old deal with the $15.5m option bonus yearly cap hit.
  24. Wow. So that means the option bonus went away. Kudos to Whaley.
