  1. I do actually believe Beane wasn't ready to get into the top 5 for one of these QB's, hence the Jets-Colts deal. Beane still has the 12 to 6 to 2 route when he is ready.
  2. But what's changing between now and the draft? The Jets weren't gonna pull their offer. Beane has the draft assets to outbid the Jets. If the only hangup was Indy not wanting to drop too far down, Beane could've got to pick 7 or 8 in the next few weeks. Only reason I can see for Colts to take Jets offer now is that Beane said he's never offering anything close to Jets offer.
  3. I didn't read all 44 pages so forgive me if this was already covered, but what was the motivation for the Colts to take the Jets deal now if Bills truly wanted the pick #3 as well? Beane could've got to pick 7 or 8 in the next 6 weeks before the draft if Indy's hang up was dropping down that far. The price only would've went up if you had 2 teams who wanted the pick.
  4. I don't think Rosen has a high floor. A lot of questions with Rosen starting with his ability to avoid the pass rush and concussions and ending with his love for the game and ability to lead an NFL huddle.
  5. I could be wrong, but I just don't see teams trading up and taking Rosen in the top 5. He's talented but there's way too many questions about him. In addition to the concussions and ability to avoid NFL pass rushes, it's not a good look when he has to spend all his time in interviews defending his love for the game. I've got no problem with players speaking their minds and having interests outside of football, but I just think GM's will roll the dice on Darnold and Allen first at the top of the draft. I also think Mayfield will be taken before Rosen.
  6. I don't see any path to the 2nd pick for the Bills. Giants will be able to shake the Jets down for a couple 3rd rounders like 49ers did last year with Trubisky. And Giants will still get Barkley at 3.
  7. Hat tip to the Jets. They had to do this before Bills got ahead of them. Hat tip to Beane as well for making the Jets give up three 2nd's. Indy should be sending Bills a thank you note. They're still gonna get Chubb or Nelson and picked three 2nd rounders.
  8. What happened to that crazy white LB from Clemson on their national championship team in? Let's bring him in.
  9. 'That time I killed 2 people' was off-limits in the interview.
  10. Agreed about the Giants. Can't see them trading out of 2 before Cleveland picks. Indy is a different story. That's why I think Beane gets to 3 and then has deal in place with Giants if Barkley is gone.
  11. Not buying this. Beane said he already knows there were guys who weren't gonna be available at 21, so that's why they traded up to 12. You need to have a good idea what you're doing in the draft before you go after free agents, especially at QB. Do they need to meet all the QB's families and go on a few dates first? Beane probably has 95% of the info he needs to make his QB selection right now.
  12. Nobody is trading a #1 pick next year to Indy for possibly their 3rd choice at QB. Jets only do that trade when Indy is on the clock and their guy is still there. Nobody is gonna trade up before knowing what the Bills are gonna do because Bills have the ammo and the will to do whatever it takes. We are the 250 pound MMA fighter standing next to the pretty girl at the bar. You can try and talk to her but it's probably not worth it. Hence the Jets signing McCown and Bridgewater and Arizona signing Bradford and Glennon.
  13. I'd be shocked if we don't go up and get a QB, but worst case at #12, one of Roquan Smith or Tremaine Edwards are there.
  14. A lot of signals Bills are trading into the top 5 for a QB, but this might be the most obvious. Rookie QB's best friend is a vet RB.
  15. #2 is available too, so Indy doesn't hold all the cards. Can't see Jets or anybody else other than Bills giving up a lot before #3 pick is on clock.
  16. I don't see any similarities to those guys and Rosen. McDermott is a William and Mary grad and a bright guy so I'm sure he can handle Rosen. I don't think Rosen is a bad guy. Needed to grow up a little but seems like he has.
  17. I think McBeane did Tyrod right by trading him. I think Cleveland intends on not playing their rookie QB this year and wants Tyrod to instill a winning culture on the field. I think Bills will be playing their rookie QB sooner.
  18. Not so sure getting Richie back with Pouncey is the best idea.
  19. I think there are legitimate concerns about Rosen being athletic and big enough to extend plays in NFL. Is he going to be an easy target for NFL pass rushes? Also makes you worry about the concussions. Eli and Brady have quick feet and elite processing ability.
  20. Reich seems to be a guy who values familiarity. He just won a super bowl with Foles. Luck is the more talented QB, but if a new coach can get a draft bounty for Luck and bring in a QB he just won a Super Bowl with, I'd think Reich would move on from Luck.
  21. Reich would probably be just as happy with Foles as Luck.
  22. Giants know they are getting Barkley. Their offense is gonna be good this year. Cleveland has to take a QB at 1. Can't risk getting their 3rd favorite at pick 4.
  23. Is he throwing at his pro day in pads and a helmet like Johnny Football?
  24. According to sportrac.com, Luck has about 4 years $80m left on his contract with almost none of it guaranteed. Makes a ton of sense that Reich would want his guy in Foles. I'd trade both 1sts for Luck. Both 1sts aren't even guaranteed to get you in the top 5 of this draft.
  25. I agree. Makes no sense for Bridgewater to go there in addition to McCown if the Jets were serious about trading up. Same with Arizona. Bills must have a deal in place to trade ahead of Jets if Jets are making these moves on 2nd day of free agency. The fact that Bills don't have a deal for a free agent QB yet is also very telling.
