  1. This makes no sense. So any player who is a free agent come March can be traded by the team they played for last year before March? It defeats the purpose of free agency. Unless it is some kind of quirk with players who played under the franchise tag.
  2. What I learned.... The Redskins are a bad organization. Smith is not an upgrade over Cousins. At best, it's a lateral move. Cousins is gonna get a lot of money
  3. Reid wins wherever he goes at least in the regular season. I'd be hugely surprised if Smith has anywhere near the same success in Washington.
  4. But I thought a lot of people got their feelings hurt by players kneeling for the anthem and tuned out? Ratings are down across the board for all TV programming. There goes that meme.
  5. Cousins will have a bunch of teams willing to pay him close to $30m per year and says he cares about winning. Highly doubt he goes to the Jets where Bowles is a dead coach walking. I know we all love to trash the Bills, but Cousins won't have a lot if any choices where the Coach and GM situation is as stable as Buffalo's. Ending the 17 year drought bought McBeane at least 3-4 years. Cleveland is a horrible situation but on top of that Hue Jackson has close to a 95% probability of getting fired after this season. And as much as Denver could be the best situation for Cousins, their head coach is definitely on the hot seat.
  6. Writing is on the wall. Washington is moving on from Cousins. They wouldn't commit to a long term contract and are now stuck with letting him walk after paying him $50 million the past 2 years. They're not giving him $33m for another year when he's 100% walking the following year. Their former GM is already putting out the cover that Cousins isn't special as a CYA when he walks for free because of their front office's bad judgement.
  7. Unless there's a surprise QB retirement or cut, Bills would absolutely be in the top 3 places Cousins could land. Bills are better situation than Cleveland and Jets. Denver would be #1, but who knows what Elway will do. Arizona obviously has better weather, but can make argument Cousins has better chance of winning in Buffalo.
  8. Drafting where we're drafting, we'd be foolish not to go after Cousins. There's 4 teams in top 6 of draft who absolutely need a QB. The cost to trade up will be more exhorbitant than $27m per year for Cousins versus $20m for a Tyrod type starter.
  9. Allen showed really nice touch on some throws at the Senior Bowl. He definitely has a high risk of being a bust, but he also has the potential to be a top 5 QB. I'd rather take a chance on those guys than somebody whose upside is the next Fitzpatrick if you hit on the pick.
  10. I'd take a shot on Allen, Mayfield, or Jackson if they fall to 21. Too many warts for them to go higher than that but that won't stop someone from reaching. I'd trade up for for Darnold. Not sure I trust Rosen enough to trade up for him.
  11. I also think losing Peyton Manning was not an insignificant hit to the NFL. You can respect his greatness but it's hard to like Brady. Manning was pretty much universally liked. There's also just an element that things sometimes peak and ratings can't keep going up forever. The divisive 'daddy bought him a deferment' POS in the White House gladly capitalized on the Anthem kneelings, but I think the NFL's ratings had peaked regardless.
  12. Peterman's backup
  13. If Cleveland takes Mayfield at #1, NFL needs to force Haslem to sell the team. Maybe he can ask the cab driver who to pick again and for old times' sake ask Mayfield to wear a helmet and pads at his pro day. I think any QB Cleveland takes at #1 is set up to fail. Since none of these QB's are can't miss guys and will always be compared to Wentz and Watson, if I were Cleveland I'd give Cousins whatever he wants and take Barkley #1.
  14. I think Mayfield will be there at pick 21. Height combined with the drama, no matter how good he is NFL decision makers will balk at the top of the 1st round.
  15. If Foles plays like this against Pats, would you trade one of our 1st rounders for him?
  16. You can have Dareus. Not sure he even played 50% of the snaps. He made a few flashy plays but was not consistently pushing the pocket. And the guy is a headcase. Even if he wasn't a headcase and gave consistent effort every play, I still don't think you give that kind of money to someone who isn't a dynamic pass rusher.
  17. Drafting QB's is becoming like the NBA draft. Production in college is weighted less heavily every year. Drafting more on what they can be. You can sign a Tyrod, Keenum, Bradford or McCown and get competent QB play and take a risk on the higher upside guys like Trubisky, Wentz, and Allen in the draft.
  18. Pass. With all the teams in front of us who need QB's, any QB who falls to pick 21 isn't worth wasting a first rounder on.
  19. Especially in a year with so many veteran QB's available, you're gonna draft the guy with the bigger upside and sign a veteran starter. I'd say Rosen, Allen, Trubisky, Darnold, Mahomes, Watson, Mayfield in that order. This years QB's will go a lot higher than last years due to need. Not looking good for Bills unless they want to move into the top 5 for the 3rd or 4th best QB in this class. Get Cousins.
  20. Curious what your thoughts were on Wentz in college. Did he show the ability to do these things at the FCS level?
  21. Can't go cheap when it comes to finding a QB. If Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, or Allen are their guy and they can go up and get him, I won't complain if they give up a bounty. If Cousins is their guy and they 'over-spend' to get him, I won't complain about that. With so many teams looking for a QB, gonna have to go all in to get a QB they feel strongly about because other teams will fell strongly about that guy too.
  22. No way Cousins goes to Jets. They got good QB play out McCown and won 5 games. Plus Bowles is a lame duck coach. Outside of Denver, I think we are the best fit for Cousins and might even be a better fit than Denver. I'd prefer getting a franchise QB in the draft, but with our draft position the odds are extremely low of finding that guy.
  23. Kind of feel bad for that safety. The easy natural play is to come in front of the WR and knock ball down which he had plenty of time to do, but I'm sure he was told to not let the WR get to the sideline. So he goes behind the WR and is way too early because the ball is in the air a long time. He should've made the play on the ball instead of going behind the WR, but I'm sure he was told not to let the guy get to the sideline. Incredibly unlucky play on his part.
  24. Gotta at least try to go after Cousins if he hits free agency. He's a big upgrade over Tyrod. Draft is a crap shoot especially when you have the 21st pick. Hell, Mariotta went 2nd overall and Bortles went 3rd and I'd take Tyrod over both of them.
  25. Do we have the organization and coaching to produce a franchise QB? That's the big question. You have to pick the right guy, but you also have to put him in the right situation. Goff was well on his way to being a bust before a new coach turned him around. Wentz walked into a good situation in Philly. Solid O-Line and good organization. Cleveland could draft second coming of John Elway and I'd still think he has no chance of success with the current state of that franchise. Bills seem to be as stable an organization from top to bottom and in the best shape they've been in a long time. Now's the time to take a chance and go get the franchise QB. I'd go up for Darnold, but that's just one man's uninformed opinion.
