  1. Excellent list. I’d also add 99.9% of GM’s don’t survive Todd Bowles as their head coach choice and Hackenburg as their first swing at getting a franchise QB.
  2. Not sure why we’d mess with our prized rookie. Let Oliver play where he projects best. And the almost universal consensus is his best position is 3 Tech DT.
  3. They have zero cap room. And they aren’t in situation like New Orleans where they have a HOF 40 year old QB they can keep kicking the can down the road for.
  4. Not saying they would but they are kind of in cap hell and he’s got a huge cap number. More likely they cut Gerald McCoy, but without McCoy and Pierre-Paul and ability to bring anybody else in, looking more to a rebuild.
  5. Tampa doesn’t have enough cap room to sign their draft picks. If they were ever gonna trade Mike Evans, now would be the time to ask. Offer them our 1st and 2nd next year plus Shaq Lawson.
  6. Its a tricky situation. Ansah is probably looking for one last big contract especially since there’s questions about how old he is. So his preference is probably a 1 year deal and he cashes in next year. But teams aren’t gonna give him a 1 year deal if he’s hoping to be ready by mid August until he’s actually healthy.
  7. It is kind of bizarre that they keep spending high draft picks on the same position. Kind of like the Detroit Lions and WR’s awhile back. Bills were probably the only team in the top 10 who even considered trading up for Q Williams, so in that respect Jets were unlucky that nobody below them was in the market for a DT no matter how good a prospect Q Williams was.
  8. I don’t know how that would fly. Every player who gets in trouble could argue that they were crazy. Bottom line is he got in trouble with the law and was in the headlines. Not sure there’s much wiggle room there.
  9. Wouldn’t he get a personal conduct suspension from Roger if he un-retired?
  10. There’s no guarantee anything would’ve been different for him next year. But absent a legit minor league system in the NFL, he made a bad decision.
  11. Would be interesting to look at the archives and see the general sentiment on this board when these come out every year and if the Bills covered that year. My hunch is we always think it’s a no brainer to bet the over but Vegas is usually pretty close to what actually happens.
  12. Gotta be more than punching 4 people in a bar who aren’t women or children for a big time program like Auburn to drop him unless he wasn’t very good.
  13. You can’t have anybody in there you don’t trust or you’d have to make them go through a metal detector and confiscate their phones.
  14. Yes. Methinks they scrubbed the footage to give us the instances where the Bills got the guy they were targeting. Worked out in Rounds 1 and 2 so this draft has to be viewed as a big success when you get 2 guys you were hoping you’d get in a best case scenario. But you’re not gonna get that lucky on every pick.
  15. If it’s really $10m, I think you exercise the option. $14m... no. $10m guaranteed only for injury is a good faith measure that you think he can take the next step but that he needs to show it on the field this year. Minimal risk on the Bills side exercising that option.
  16. I’d love to know how other teams in the NFL feel about this. There’s a reason a guy that talented wasn’t taken in the 1st round. Reid doesn’t seem to care if they beat women or kids as long as they can play and meanwhile the entire league ends up taking the PR hit.
  17. We’re a small market team that’s sucked for 20 years and we’re in the same division as the Patriots. They get no ratings talking about us and we’ve proved everybody right who’s ignored us the last 20 years. Hopefully we have a giant chip on our shoulder.
  18. Is the likelihood of an injury that prevents him from passing a physical higher than the likelihood of him becoming a $10m per year player? That’s the decision Beane has to make.
  19. $10m guaranteed only for injury is not a big price to pay to keep a guys rights for another year if he has the potential to be a 7-8 sack guy this year. They gave Trent Murphy $10m in guarantees. Not exercising his 5th year option would be pretty damning and I’m not sure how they don’t bring somebody else in this year if that’s Beane’s opinion of him.
  20. If nothing else, this kid should motivate McCoy. No idea if his game will translate to NFL, but his highlights are fun to watch. Most guys that elusive aren’t workhorse, grind-it-out types.
  21. Lawson would still be motivated if they exercised the 5th year option. It’s only guaranteed for injury, so Bills could always pull it. I don’t see much downside in exercising the option. If he gets hurt, Bills have more than enough cap space to absorb the $10m. If he doesn’t raise his game, you pull the option. If he raises his game, you control him another year for $10m.
  22. Should be cleared by mid-August... that does not sound promising. But maybe that's how we land him. We have the cap space to take a chance.
  23. Guaranteed money for the OL free agents: Morse - $20.4m Nsekhe - 6.2m Feliciano - 3.9m Long - 1.9m Waddle - 400k Spain - 200k Spain got very little money. Can’t see him starting over Feliciano unless Beane is really bad at giving out contracts.
  24. LT - Dawkins, LG - Long, C - Morse, RG - Feliciano, RT - Ford. Backup T is Nsekhe. Long, Feliciano, and Nsekhe are safely on the roster based on their contracts. Spain and Waddle not given much signing bonus. Sirles and Waddle battle for 4th Tackle spot. Spain and Teller battle for backup guard. Bodine might be safe as the backup C.
