The guy is certainly unique. With his size, mobility and arm strength, he can do things not many others if any can do. If he ever learns how to play winning football for 4 quarters (less turnovers and dumb passes), he can be a top 5 QB.
Darnold carved us up in the 2nd game when he was given time. He’s not gonna beat you with his legs and he makes a lot of bad throws under pressure. Hoping that McDermott dials up the pressure on Sunday. We’re gonna need a couple picks by Darnold to win the game.
I’m sorry. The most memorable thing about that clip is Alberts repeating ‘Flutie start of the season’ as Bruce is laying there. Even if you think Bruce fell because he’s wasted, you don’t keep rambling and stumbling over your lines like a malfunctioning cyborg. You either show some concern or you show disgust that he’s a drunken mess.
WTF is with Trev Albert’s reaction? He keeps trying to talk through segment when Bruce falls backward? He could’ve been having a heart attack or something. Any normal person would’ve showed some concern.
And the thing that sucks about the NFL is that if you don’t have a good QB, the other 52 players don’t matter all that much. Let’s cross our fingers on Allen.
Correlation does not equal causation. QB’s are usually your best athletes that can also throw. SS’s are also usually your best athletes that can throw. Not sure playing SS helps you play QB other than the fact that there’s overlap in required skill set.
Kind of agree, but then again the Pats were gonna get a Center from some team. And it’s not like we’re trading them a guy who’s ever been a quality starting Center. So thanks for the 6th rounder.
Seems pretty stupid that he can’t be signed to a new contract if he is traded. I guess it encourages the team tagging him to get a deal done and it reduces his trade value in a way that prevents a team from squatting on his rights. Still, there are plenty of teams who’d probably sign him to a contract north of $50m in guarantees. If he gets injured this year, he’d be leaving around $35m on the table because of this rule.
Edmunds is dare I say a Bruce-like talent at his position. He’s a 6’5” 250 Cornerback. It looks like he put on the required muscle/strength in the offseason to play middle LB. He has yellow jacket potential if he stays healthy.
The fact that we are 3-0 with Tyree Jackson playing significant time says something. Not sure what. Maybe that our 53 man roster is gonna be good. But everything still rests on Allen.
Barkley probably 2nd to Daniel Jones for preseason MVP if there were such a thing. Season rests on Allen but nice to have a solid backup who can win you a few games.
