  1. Yes. Methinks they scrubbed the footage to give us the instances where the Bills got the guy they were targeting. Worked out in Rounds 1 and 2 so this draft has to be viewed as a big success when you get 2 guys you were hoping you’d get in a best case scenario. But you’re not gonna get that lucky on every pick.
  2. If it’s really $10m, I think you exercise the option. $14m... no. $10m guaranteed only for injury is a good faith measure that you think he can take the next step but that he needs to show it on the field this year. Minimal risk on the Bills side exercising that option.
  3. I’d love to know how other teams in the NFL feel about this. There’s a reason a guy that talented wasn’t taken in the 1st round. Reid doesn’t seem to care if they beat women or kids as long as they can play and meanwhile the entire league ends up taking the PR hit.
  4. We’re a small market team that’s sucked for 20 years and we’re in the same division as the Patriots. They get no ratings talking about us and we’ve proved everybody right who’s ignored us the last 20 years. Hopefully we have a giant chip on our shoulder.
  5. Is the likelihood of an injury that prevents him from passing a physical higher than the likelihood of him becoming a $10m per year player? That’s the decision Beane has to make.
  6. $10m guaranteed only for injury is not a big price to pay to keep a guys rights for another year if he has the potential to be a 7-8 sack guy this year. They gave Trent Murphy $10m in guarantees. Not exercising his 5th year option would be pretty damning and I’m not sure how they don’t bring somebody else in this year if that’s Beane’s opinion of him.
  7. If nothing else, this kid should motivate McCoy. No idea if his game will translate to NFL, but his highlights are fun to watch. Most guys that elusive aren’t workhorse, grind-it-out types.
  8. Lawson would still be motivated if they exercised the 5th year option. It’s only guaranteed for injury, so Bills could always pull it. I don’t see much downside in exercising the option. If he gets hurt, Bills have more than enough cap space to absorb the $10m. If he doesn’t raise his game, you pull the option. If he raises his game, you control him another year for $10m.
  9. Should be cleared by mid-August... that does not sound promising. But maybe that's how we land him. We have the cap space to take a chance.
  10. Guaranteed money for the OL free agents: Morse - $20.4m Nsekhe - 6.2m Feliciano - 3.9m Long - 1.9m Waddle - 400k Spain - 200k Spain got very little money. Can’t see him starting over Feliciano unless Beane is really bad at giving out contracts.
  11. LT - Dawkins, LG - Long, C - Morse, RG - Feliciano, RT - Ford. Backup T is Nsekhe. Long, Feliciano, and Nsekhe are safely on the roster based on their contracts. Spain and Waddle not given much signing bonus. Sirles and Waddle battle for 4th Tackle spot. Spain and Teller battle for backup guard. Bodine might be safe as the backup C.
  12. I think a motivated contract-year Lawson is worth taking a shot on. Unless I’m mistaken, the 5th year option is only guaranteed for injury. Bills have the cap space to eat $10m next year if Lawson sustains an injury. And Bills still control him another year if he has a break out year. So I’d extend Hughes and exercise Lawson’s option. Ansah would be a Murphy replacement.
  13. Well, something has to happen in regards to defensive end. They have to decide about Lawson’s 5th year option by Friday. Hughes is on last year of deal. Ansah is still out there. Clowney ship has probably sailed. If Houston was gonna trade him, it would’ve happened before the draft.
  14. That’s nuts that he was flying to California from Delaware as 10 year old for QB coaching. Crazy f’ing parents.
  15. I assume he’ll get 65-70% of the snaps like Kyle had last year. That’s what Geno Atkins, a comp to Oliver, had also.
  16. Will be interesting to see if Bills go after Ansah now that we didn’t take a pass rusher at the top of the draft. Something gonna have to shake out with Hughes and Lawson relatively soon also.
  17. Because 30+ year old RB’s don’t hold up well. Kind of ridiculous we are paying McCoy $6m this season. Beane must be worried about the locker room impact of letting McCoy go.
  18. Expecting a Tackle or DB at pick 40. That’s where the value is.
  19. 16 about right for Burns. Could be one of the top players out of this draft when it’s all said and done, but weight/strength is an issue.
  20. There’s no way Jets trade 3 to us. Probably trying to shake somebody else down since they’re desperate to trade out of 3, but not that desperate to trade with us
  21. Giants doing their best to make sure nobody trades in front of them for Haskins.
  22. If Sweat’s heart problem is now cleared, I think Bills would be happy to take him at 9 if he lasts that long. Oliver, Sweat or the top OT at pick 9 unless somebody pays up for pick 9.
  23. He’s a risky pick in the top 15. He could turn out to be one of the best players in the draft, but he could just as easily be swallowed up by NFL tackles if he’s not committed to getting stronger and keeping on weight.
