CFP Semifinal- Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State vs Clemson 8:15pm
BuffaloRebound replied to YoloinOhio's topic in College Football
The guy lowered his head and connected with Lawrence’s head with the crown of his helmet. Thats targeting regardless of what Lawrence did. That’s not targeting if his face mask hit Lawrence’s helmet. The catch and fumble seemed like a bad call. I guess the steps Clemson WR took when he was wrestling with Okudah for the ball didn’t count. He was also going backwards at that point. -
Actually think OSU defense would’ve given LSU a lot of trouble. Lawrence had to make a lot of crazy athletic plays. Burrow is awesome but think that OSU pass rush could’ve given him trouble.
-
Ohio State is the better team. Doesn’t mean Clemson won’t pull this out, but outside of a big play by Etienne, another one by Lawrence, and some penalties, OSU has dominated.
-
Okudah is awesome. You gotta take the pass rusher higher, but I wouldn’t think twice grabbing this guy in the top 5 if I didn’t need a QB. Clemson’s WR’s are both 1st round picks and he’s owning them.
-
Does seem like a weird dude. Crazy talent though.
-
It was the right call. Not sure how Clemson is in this game though. Ohio State should be up by st least 3 TD’s. They are so much faster and physical.

It’s easy to watch film and criticize what throws Allen missed or didn’t make. But when this non-expert watches other NFL games, I rarely see other teams put as much on the shoulders of their QB as the Bills do. Our running game minus Allen scares no one. We don’t run screens or have much in the way of a creative short passing game. We score when Allen makes a big play with his arm or legs. Yes, we have a good defense but whatever points we do score is almost totally reliant on Allen.

Rumor Roethlisberger done with Football

Newton, Tannehill, Winston, Dalton... some decent vets will be available. Steelers win at least 10 games win this any 1 of those guys. -
Johnson can replace whatever Murphy gives you. Hughes is fine for 1 more year. Instead of giving Lawson $9-10m per year, I’d rather go after one of the elite edge guys for $15-20m per year. Only way I see us signing Phillips is if we cut Star. We’ll also be getting back the other Phillips. Draft an explosive playmaker in 1st round. Doesn’t matter if it’s a RB/WR/TE, Allen needs somebody on offense to take the pressure off him having to do everything. If the pick is a WR, sign a high level free agent RB like Gordon, whose price tag has definitely come down. If the pick is a RB, sign a Fitzgerald or Green.

Count me in the camp that says Allen needs to be paired with a power runner. Allen is not a precision passer. We need a power running game that consistently gets us 4-5 yards on 1st down when they know we’re running the ball and can also convert on 3rd and short. Singletary is a decent RB but Allen needs something more because he’s not a dink and dunk QB.

We don’t have enough physicality on either side of the ball. When your QB is your toughest mofo, that’s not a good thing. As good as our safeties are in coverage, we need somebody back there who’s gonna bring the wood. Brady should’ve have been sent to the blue tent on his run by the goal line. And there were too many runs to count where the Patriots would’ve had 2-3 yards less per run if we had a safety who could come in and clean up a play.

The Bills loss can be summed up in two words...

New England wanted this game more. That was the difference. They know they have no chance of going to Super Bowl without a bye. Bills played alright, but the hungrier team won. -
Phillips embarasses Brandon Beane
BuffaloRebound replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I were Beane, I’d be more comfortable giving him the franchise tag. Phillips still hasn’t got his big payday. $14m is a lot better than committing $25-30m guaranteed if you’re not sure he’s gonna stay motivated. $14m still life changing, ‘never have to work another day in your life’ money. Sign him long term if he stays motivated after getting $14m. You can probably get Lawson for $9-10m per year. He’s been a high profile guy for longer, was the #1 high school recruit... I’d trust giving him long term contract more. -

Franchise tag only $14m for DT. I think that is a very real option if they’re afraid of giving him a huge contract. -

Would be a shame to lose Lawson or Phillips. If need be, you absolutely cut Murphy or Lotulelei to keep both of them. But we can absorb the cap hit for a year to keep all of them before we have to pay our young guys. -
Bills 17, Steelers 10 Game Balls!
BuffaloRebound replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Special teams. They didn’t hurt us and actually won the battle when you consider the shank punt but Pittsburgh that jumpstarted our first TD. -
Kraft needs to be forced to sell team and Bellichik banned for life. No penalty will stop their cheating. They need to be removed from the game for life. The Patriots players and fans shouldn’t be penalized. You can’t vacate past titles and wins. Then you just make martyrs of the cheating SOB’s. Get Kraft and Belichik out of the game forever.
