Round 1 Playoff: Colts at Bills - Sat. 1/9 1:05pm

Edmunds needs to play well. Indy has a good line and can run the ball plus Rivers will for sure be targeting all the underneath stuff. -

dude traded Hopkins for a 2nd rounder and also traded #3 overall pick in the same year. -

This Wolford guy looks better than Goff. -
Swinney deserves this beat down. Running his mouth and ranking Ohio State 11th. Guy needed to be humbled.
-
Fields throws a real nice deep ball. Lots of air. Let’s his WR’s run under the ball.
-
Down by 21 and they keep running Lawrence. Definite red flag from an NFL perspective.
-
If Fields does this against Alabama, then I think there’s a legit discussion about who goes 1, but Clemson’s defense looks so bad so hard to read too much into tonight.
-
Clemson’s defense doesn’t look like it has much NFL talent. They normally have 1st rounders all over the place. Their secondary looks terrible. Their LB’s are slow and their DL not getting any pressure.
-
Maybe but he still lowered his helmet and it went straight into Fields’ side with force. If Fields was fine, it probably doesn’t get called. But that was a highly dangerous play and mostly for Skalski. You could see his head get compressed into his neck. That’s how you end up with a Kevin Everett situation.
-
He lowered his head and drove his helmet into Fields. Dangerous play for both players. Skalski lucky he didn’t get carried off in a stretcher.
-
I don’t see any wow throws from either of these QB’s. They’re both great athletes but I don’t see arm talent like Mahomes, our guy, or Herbert.
-
Looks like he’s capable of it, but Lawrence doesn’t do much of his damage from the pocket. Unless Jax plans on using him like Lamar Jackson, Lawrence is gonna have a pretty big learning curve. And expectations for this guy will be astronomical.

Is Devonta Smith basically Stefon Diggs?
BuffaloRebound replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in College Football
He’s awesome but he’s very slight. He’s got an extremely skinny lower body. Not sure I’ve seen a dominant NFL WR who’s that skinny. Maybe Marvin Harrison? -
Timeout with 1 second left and down by 17? Please don’t allow ND back in the playoff ever again.
-
I’d have rather given Cincy a chance to lose by 30 to Alabama, Clemson, or Ohio State. Notre Dame getting rolled in the playoff is getting really boring.
-
It’s all hypothetical right now but the main thing is being afraid to even think about the type of contract he’s gonna demand at age 23 coming off probably his 3rd pro bowl. Bobby Wagner got $18m per year at age 29. Your talking $20m per year minimum for Edmunds. Doesn’t make enough game changing plays to command that money but he’ll get it from someone.
-
It’ll never happen, but I’d trade Edmunds to somebody like Pete Carroll after next year. Given his age and pro bowls/pedigree, I’m guessing Edmunds is gonna be crazy expensive to re-sign. Get another relatively cheap year out of him next year, exercise his 5th year option then trade him before you gotta pay him Bobby Wagner money. Unless he learns how to catch a pass thrown right at him or how to anticipate and hit a hole in the next 2 years, he’s gonna command way more money than his actual play warrants.

Cam Newton - “Mentally tough”
BuffaloRebound replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bottom line is he’s not good. Teams can put up with the craziness if he’s performing. He never made the transition to a pocket QB. He still thought he was more power running back than QB. Josh would’ve suffered same fate but his transformation this year into a passing QB has been almost miraculous. Cam never thought he had to change. The MVP and super bowl appearance were fool’s gold. -
Actually thinks this helps Tua and Flores. No second guessing now.

Should a losing team go to playoffs?
BuffaloRebound replied to BananaB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is glossing over the last 20 years. If McDermott and Beane arrived in 2004 instead of 2017, there’s a 99% chance they’d both have been fired by year 6 after multiple wildcard playoff bids but no playoff wins. It’s what the Raiders, Broncos and Chargers have to look forward to for the next 15 years. Just a coincidence that those teams are looking a lot like the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins of the past 20 years. -

Easy to say. It’s not about sucking at football. It’s about being stuck in a division with generational talents like Brady and Mahomes. You have almost no chance of ever hosting a playoff game even if you do beat out the rest of the conference for those 2 wildcard spots.
