  1. Kind of hard to ignore that they traded a 2022 1st round pick to go from 12 to 6. Unless they get more than a future 1st to trade back from 6, makes it look like Amateur hour.
  2. And for a reference point, Bills exercised Tre’s 5th year option one year ago today, which was the night before the 1st round of draft. And announced they were declining Shaq’s 5th year option on May 1, 2019, which was the week following the draft.
  3. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2020/05/2021-nfl-fifth-year-option-tracker I believe Bolles is only guy from 2017 draft still with original team who had his 5th year option declined. Surprised there was even 1.
  4. This. Picking up Josh’s 5th year option is a no brainer and should’ve been done yesterday. Seems bizarre that Beane is lumping the 2 decisions together for some reason.
  5. Why would Edmunds re-sign with Bills next year if they don’t exercise his 5th year option? There’s no incentive for him not to go to the highest bidder next year if Bills make him play out his rookie deal without guaranteed money in his 5th year. Maybe the Bills are OK with that and they’ll use franchise tag on him if he has a great year. But more likely scenario is he’s same guy this year and then he leaves. Pats built dynasty trading guys at the exact moment Edmunds is at right now.
  6. I didn’t call Grier clueless. More about wasting his time on spreading nonsensical rumors. Chargers were able to sit at 6 and get the best QB in the draft last year. So if anybody believed the patter Grier was spreading last year about selecting a Tackle at 5, the only thing it did was help the Chargers stay put and still get their guy. In what world does a rational organization trade a 1st rounder to move up to the 6th pick after trading back from 3 then trade back again? Grier might as well float the rumor that he’s trading back up to 3 for a QB. Makes as much sense.
  7. Because it insults our intelligence to even float this rumor. We’re supposed to believe the Dolphins are now gonna trade back after giving up a 2022 1st rounder to move up to the 6th pick? The beat writer for the Dolphins gave an interview last year after the draft and admitted the rumors the Dolphins floated last year about drafting one of the offensive tackles wasn’t something he believed but he had to report it anyway.
  8. Seems like if Bills don’t pick up his option, the odds of him returning next year are low. I know the calculus has changed with the 5th year option being fully guaranteed now, but I can’t think of anyone who re-upped with their old team when their 5th year option was declined.
  9. Wouldn’t shock me if Edmunds is traded on draft day. A team like Jax might give up a high 2nd rounder for Edmunds instead of drafting a Line Backer. They have plenty of cap space and 5 picks in the top 65. Hard to incorporate that many highly drafted rookies. If Bills draft a LB at pick 30, I think Edmunds is gone.
  10. Smart to get in front of this now instead of next Thursday. Because you know somebody would’ve leaked this last minute to hurt his stock.
  11. Never understood why an anonymous scout would be forthright. They’re all trying to feed a narrative about certain guys. Makes for good entertainment though. Only scouts take I’d trust is a Chiefs, Bills, or Chargers scout on the top QB prospects. Even then, they might fudge the truth to create narrative if a division rival is in that market.
  12. Barmore a Philly kid who went to Neumann-Goretti. McDermott went to Philly Catholic League rival LaSalle. McDermott loves him some Philly. Barmore fits the Beane profile of a 1st round pick. He has All Pro potential if he pans out.
  13. Devonta Smith at 166 pounds is serious red flag. He ain’t gonna be able to outrun NFL DB’s like he did in college. And forget anything underneath. LB’s and D-Linemen would break him in half.
  14. Agreed. A WR is much more likely than a RB at pick 30.
  15. https://www.nfl.com/news/gil-brandt-s-hot-100-2-0-top-prospects-in-2021-nfl-draft-class Brandt is usually pretty plugged in. Crazy how much movement there is from his 1st list to this one. Teams must be scrambling and moving guys all over the place on their boards.
  16. Completely. This is why they have to float nonsensical rumors. The real action for the 4th QB starts at pick 7 because nobody believes the Dolphins aren’t taking a non-QB at pick 6.
  17. It is though. You don’t trade back up to 6 without knowing there’s gonna be somebody you want there. Other teams know this and now that it looks like Pitts and Chase are going 4 and 5, Miami wants somebody to trade up to 4 or 5 for a QB so either Pitts or Chase fall to them.
  18. Nobody believes this. They already gave up a 1st trading back up. This rumor is almost as stupid as last year when Dolphins were trying to convince people they were going Offensive Tackle instead of QB at pick 5.
  19. Somebody who adds some speed and violence to the defense.
  20. Edge rushers seem to have highest bust rate. Throw in the difficulty of scouting these guys the past year, and I think you’re gonna see a lot of these pass rushers go later than the mock drafters are predicting.
  21. Haha. If you can’t drive 143mph while smoking a blunt with kids and guns in back of car, what’s this country coming to? Communism can’t be far behind.
  22. No thanks. How come none of his previous 4 teams wanted to keep him?
  23. Doesn’t have to be an LB. Replacing 5’11”/190 lb’s with 6’1”/210lb’s can make a difference too. JOK would be ideal, but there’s plenty of DB’s in this draft who’d probably get significant playing time immediately.
  24. I think on defense it’s mostly a case of size especially in the back 7. We have 5 DB’s on the field 91% of the time and those 5 DB’s are all 200 lbs or less. Milano is a good LB but he’s on the smaller side as well. Edmunds has the size but his calling card is coverage. It would be great if we could get a bigger guy on the field in place of one of the 5 smaller DB’s and not sacrifice coverage.
  25. Good. I’m sure there’s others that feel same way as most Dolphin fans don’t possess ability to form an original thought. Doubters fuel the fire and that especially seems to be case with Josh. If this were the case, Josh’s numbers at home would’ve been significantly better than is usual prior to 2020.
