Guys who can play Left Tackle always go higher in draft than people think. -
Top 31 NFL prospects, a consensus?
BuffaloRebound replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he’d be a good fit here. Even in an optimistic scenario he wouldn’t be expected to play more than 50% of snaps in a year 1, and adds an element that Bills don’t have on the edge. If we got a DB at pick 30 and were somehow able to trade up and get Rousseau in middle of 2nd round, that would be a great draft. -

I don’t think he had a bad pro day. A dude who’s 6’7” with 35 inch arms and puts up 21 reps and runs a 4.69 forty is pretty rare/impressive. He just had the misfortune of performing alongside Phillips who is what you’d create in a lab for an edge rusher. I think Rousseau will be a beast in the NFL. -

If Rousseau somehow falls to 30, Id sprint to podium or however picks are done now post-covid. He’s not the athlete Phillips is but he’s strong and slippery and his game changing trait is his strength/length combo. He collapses the pocket and with his length nobody can get around him. Basically takes away one side of the field from the QB to scramble and the RB to run. I’d love Phillips too but can’t see him lasting to 30 unless his medicals are terrible. -

They’re Notre Dame linemen. Responded to post saying Notre Dame O-Lineman not having good track record of success. -
agreed. There are still some ring chasers available at CB like Sherman and Edge Rusher like Houston and Ingram whom I’m sure Beane has talked to. Those guys would’ve already signed with rebuilding teams if they were chasing money. Sherman just gave an interview that the teams he’s looking at are waiting until after they see who they draft.

Zack Martin was considered best O Lineman in NFL for a long time. Now Quentin Nelson is. -
Height/Length is an under-rated quality for DB’s and LB’s. Always been important for OT’s and edge rushers. But with how much teams throw now, it’s more important than ever to have some coverage guys with length. Hopkins easily jumped over our 3 best DB’s for the Hail Murray. Tight Ends typically have a 5-6 inch height advantage over our DB’s and Milano. Including Milano, Bills have 6 guys in coverage who are 6 feet or under. Give me a 6’1”+ CB with long arms or a 6’3+ LB with coverage skills.

Yep. JOK would definitely help this defense but so would any bigger player in the back 7 who can cover. With how advanced and precise passing games have become, you need some length and size in the back 7. Edmunds is our only back 7 player with length and size but he has zero ball skills.

Excellent points. NFL players shouldn’t be compared to the average population. These guys all went to college and make 10-20 times what the average person makes. I really think most of these guy’s college coaches failed them. These coaches like to sell that their ‘molders of young men’ but most of them could care less about these kids other than wins and losses. Always gonna be bad apples out there but if they can play football, most coaches/schools look the other way or defend their poor sometimes criminal behavior.

Dean Marlowe visiting Lions (update - signed)

Good for him. This is probably his last shot to start and get a payday. I’m sure the Bills wanted him back, but couldn’t offer him either. -
Bills sign G Forrest Lamp
BuffaloRebound replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess, but you’d think these vet minimum guys number 1 priority would be going to a place they can make the 53 man roster and get their $900k base guaranteed. -

Why do these vet minimum guys with a fair amount of NFL playing time keep signing here? Beane basically returned his entire 53 man roster that went 13-3. There’s gotta be other teams where they’d have a better shot at making the roster. -
Not that simple. $10m of the $17m is guaranteed. My guess is In order to find a trade partner Carolina will have to pay at least half of the $10m and Bridgewater will have to forego most of the $7m that’s not guaranteed. More likely scenario is Carolina doesn’t find any takers and has to eat the $10m. Then Bridgewater signs for $3-4m in Houston where he has chance to start.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
BuffaloRebound replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ll contribute because I still think this could happen. Took Howie 3 weeks to trade Wentz when all the reports said trade was imminent. -
Draft trade thought -- complete & total "what if"
BuffaloRebound replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m not a huge fan of Edmunds, but I do realize the guy would have a ton of value in a trade. I hate the argument about how young he is but there’s still some truth in it. You could make an argument that Edmunds would be the highest rated defender in this draft. If Jerruh wants to give us pick 10 straight up for Edmunds, I’d consider it if Pitts were available but not if I have to give Dallas something back. -
New England will pay. Jimmy G will get them to 10 wins but you’re never winning a super bowl with him. San Fran’s D in 2019 was sick. If Jimmy was above average, they probably win game. But Belichik and Kraft are desperate for relevancy. They’ll give up their 1st rounder. They don’t have the time or patience to develop a rookie QB.

Bills sign OL Jamil Douglas
BuffaloRebound replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you assume these guys’ agents aren’t morons, I can’t see them signing this early in free agency before the draft if they don’t think they have a reasonably good shot to make the final 53. Beane is up to 70 signed players and very few are what would be considered camp bodies. Almost all 70 guys have had significant playing time in the NFL. Good luck making this team as a rookie if you aren’t drafted in the first 3 rounds. -

I got no problems with picking an Offensive Lineman at pick 30. The OL was as big a problem as the defense against KC. I’m glad Beane brought back last years OL but Morse, Feliciano, and Williams are basically on 1 year deals so there’s definitely room to bring in an upgrade.
