  1. OMG. Teams gonna be doing a lot of research on Oweh. Those are crazy good numbers.
  2. Bills haven’t drafted a DB in the first 5 rounds since Tre, Taron, and Siran in 2017. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if a DB is the pick in the 1st round.
  3. Technically that’s true. But Beane’s actions have shown he trades up in the early rounds to get BPA at an area of need.
  4. With our offense, I got no problem letting the ball go out of the endzone and starting at the 25 on every kickoff.
  5. There’s clearly cell phone and social media evidence he set up massage appointments with all the accusers. And because of the similarity and sheer number of the accusers his only defense is to say these were consensual encounters. That defense might spare him criminal charges but hard to see him not paying each of these women millions of dollars.
  6. He would’ve led our team in sacks last year.
  7. There’s really only a handful of roster spots available this year. Mckenzie just took another one. RB, OL, DL, DB, TE. That’s 5 roster spots up for grabs. My guess is Beane signs 2 vet ring chasers once the price tags drop and then our top 3 draft picks round out the roster. Can’t see our two 5th rounders, 6th rounder or 7th rounder having a path to anything but a practice squad spot. Dunlap, Ertz, Etienne, big nickel from FSU, Deonte Brown?
  8. He’s clearly gonna claim it was consensual. I’m not sure there’s enough evidence to file criminal charges. Given the similarity of the accounts of the accusers and the sheer number of accusers, he’s gonna have a tough time in a civil trial. He’ll end up apologizing, paying these women large sums of money, and probably suspended by the NFL for a year at least.
  9. He’s not trade-able right now. I’d be surprised if he suits up for Texans this year either. He’ll get paid but not allowed to play in my opinion. Even if he’s innocent, it’s gonna take a long time to work through however many allegations he’s up to now.
  10. I find using actual numbers takes some of the scariness out of the ‘mortgaging the future’ and ‘kicking the can down the road’ argument. I’m fine shifting $22m in cap space for Diggs, Dawkins, and Tre White from this year to the next 3-4 years. I can’t see us cutting any one of them before then. Yes there’s some risk if one of them has a career ending injury but we were one game from the super bowl. We kept the band together. Now it’s time to add a couple veteran ring chasers along with the draft to put us over the top
  11. Only saw a couple minutes of Jones throwing, but the guy better be Brady-esque in terms of accuracy and intangibles. Very average throwing and physical traits. Brady always had a fastball and still does to some extent in addition to the accuracy and intangibles.
  12. I don’t know. It’s about power. These women have way more power doing it the way they did. There’s always the risk that the police disregard the allegations individually against a powerful guy like Watson. I’m not saying watsons guilty or not, but if true these women went about it the right way because now there’s no way this can be swept under the rug or slow walked by the police.
  13. So we must be right around zero in cap space if you factor in spotrac doesn’t have matekevuch’s extension and the fact that sanders deal has a voidable 2nd year that lowers his cap hit. And Beane has up to $26m more in cap space if he wants to go that route.
  14. I’ll take the kid from Notre Dame in a trade up. He can cover Tight Ends and brings sorely lacking speed and violence to the defense. We aren’t re-creating TB’s pass rush. With this kid, we can add a difference maker in the back 7.
  15. I can’t see Ertz taking much less than the $8m per year he’s due. Maybe the Bills can build incentives into his contract to get him there but if Kyle Rudolph is getting $8m per year over 2 years, there’s no reason for Ertz to accept something below that. I’m sure the Bills can structure a deal that pays him $8m per year but has a lower cap hit in 2021.
  16. I like going for it but trading a future 1st is too risky for my blood. Crazy stuff can happen and it ends up being a top 5 pick. Look at Houston.
  17. I’d keep our 2nd this year and next years 1st, but I like your idea. I’d be open to trade a 3rd this year and a 2nd next year. That’d probably get us in the 17-18 range. If Pitts, Farley, or Owusu fall, I’d rather go get an elite talent than trade down.
  18. I don’t think Beane is done. Just think he’s still waiting for prices to come down on the veteran ring chasers.
  19. Ossai looks maxed out and stiff to me. Doesn’t even crack Jeremiah’s top 50. I trust his opinion. Phillips and Paye seem to have potential but pass rushers who are ready Day 1 or don’t have huge question marks don’t usually last to the mid teens. And we drafted one of those guys last year. You gotta go into the top 10 for those guys. I think Owusu would step on the field Day 1 and immediately provide a boost to this defense. If I’m trading up into the mid teens, I want a Day 1 starter and somebody who’s moving the needle immediately.
  20. I’m not a draftnik, but those dudes seem kind of Jag-ish. Maybe not Phillips but seems like there’s huge question marks with him. I’d be happy with Phillips at pick 30.
  21. Outside of a stud Pass rusher which will not be available in the mid teens, he’s exactly what this defense needs. Different ways to skin a cat. We’re not re-creating TB’s pass rush. Next best thing is bringing in a Tight End Eraser who brings speed and violence.
  22. I think it’s less akin to borrowing against your credit card and more akin to taking a loan from your 401k. It can be frowned upon but there are times when it makes sense liking using it as a down payment for a home when you’re renting or to pay off high interest credit card debt. Whereas it’s never smart to taking out a 2nd credit card to pay off a first. I think Beane will borrow against his 401k for the right player. Like Watt or Ertz or Gronk. I don’t think he was gonna give out a huge deal to a young player before he gives Josh his deal.
  23. I’d be willing to give up our 3rd rounder and next years 2nd to go up and get Jeremiah Owusu-koramoah. He’d be perfect for our defense. Violent fast big impact playmaker. Him in the big nickel would be unfair.
  24. If he doesn’t get big offers, this could make a lot of sense. McDermott has a good track record with DB’s. Jackson could rebuild his value for a year while Bills get a low cost CB2. But I imagine some CB needy team will give him a nice contract.
