Peter King Mock- Bills take Etienne

Yeah. Kind of how I feel. Although I kind of hope etienne is picked before us so Beane doesn’t have to make that choice. -
2018 Draft QB trade up feature - ESPN Schefter

They were back to back years. At least give him credit for cutting his losses on Rosen. Admitting mistakes is almost as important as hitting on your picks. -
There’s no way we’re trading down. Yes, everybody happy with Diggs trade, but Beane ain’t going another year without a 1st rounder. I think we move up 5-6 spots for Farley. Wallace is a serviceable player but it’s finally time to end the Wallace/vet-nobody-wanted revolving door at CB2.

If nobody wants him, why do we?

New England’s RB’s were really good last year as a group. I’d probably say Harris. I really like the white guy from Nebraska they have too but he got hurt.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
BuffaloRebound replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beane is tying himself into knots trying to make it seem that not exercising Edmunds 5th year option isn’t a major indictment on how the Bills feel about him. -
The Great Tremaine Edmunds Debate

Cleveland had no problems exercising Ward and Mayfields 5th year options in same year. -
Miami considering trading down from 6
BuffaloRebound replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of hard to ignore that they traded a 2022 1st round pick to go from 12 to 6. Unless they get more than a future 1st to trade back from 6, makes it look like Amateur hour. -
The Great Tremaine Edmunds Debate
BuffaloRebound replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And for a reference point, Bills exercised Tre’s 5th year option one year ago today, which was the night before the 1st round of draft. And announced they were declining Shaq’s 5th year option on May 1, 2019, which was the week following the draft. -

https://www.profootballrumors.com/2020/05/2021-nfl-fifth-year-option-tracker I believe Bolles is only guy from 2017 draft still with original team who had his 5th year option declined. Surprised there was even 1. -
The Great Tremaine Edmunds Debate
BuffaloRebound replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. Picking up Josh’s 5th year option is a no brainer and should’ve been done yesterday. Seems bizarre that Beane is lumping the 2 decisions together for some reason. -
Why would Edmunds re-sign with Bills next year if they don’t exercise his 5th year option? There’s no incentive for him not to go to the highest bidder next year if Bills make him play out his rookie deal without guaranteed money in his 5th year. Maybe the Bills are OK with that and they’ll use franchise tag on him if he has a great year. But more likely scenario is he’s same guy this year and then he leaves. Pats built dynasty trading guys at the exact moment Edmunds is at right now.

Miami considering trading down from 6

I didn’t call Grier clueless. More about wasting his time on spreading nonsensical rumors. Chargers were able to sit at 6 and get the best QB in the draft last year. So if anybody believed the patter Grier was spreading last year about selecting a Tackle at 5, the only thing it did was help the Chargers stay put and still get their guy. In what world does a rational organization trade a 1st rounder to move up to the 6th pick after trading back from 3 then trade back again? Grier might as well float the rumor that he’s trading back up to 3 for a QB. Makes as much sense. -
Miami considering trading down from 6
BuffaloRebound replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because it insults our intelligence to even float this rumor. We’re supposed to believe the Dolphins are now gonna trade back after giving up a 2022 1st rounder to move up to the 6th pick? The beat writer for the Dolphins gave an interview last year after the draft and admitted the rumors the Dolphins floated last year about drafting one of the offensive tackles wasn’t something he believed but he had to report it anyway. -
Wouldn’t shock me if Edmunds is traded on draft day. A team like Jax might give up a high 2nd rounder for Edmunds instead of drafting a Line Backer. They have plenty of cap space and 5 picks in the top 65. Hard to incorporate that many highly drafted rookies. If Bills draft a LB at pick 30, I think Edmunds is gone.

Smart to get in front of this now instead of next Thursday. Because you know somebody would’ve leaked this last minute to hurt his stock. -

Never understood why an anonymous scout would be forthright. They’re all trying to feed a narrative about certain guys. Makes for good entertainment though. Only scouts take I’d trust is a Chiefs, Bills, or Chargers scout on the top QB prospects. Even then, they might fudge the truth to create narrative if a division rival is in that market. -
Measurements reported from medical combine in Indy

Devonta Smith at 166 pounds is serious red flag. He ain’t gonna be able to outrun NFL DB’s like he did in college. And forget anything underneath. LB’s and D-Linemen would break him in half. -
https://www.nfl.com/news/gil-brandt-s-hot-100-2-0-top-prospects-in-2021-nfl-draft-class Brandt is usually pretty plugged in. Crazy how much movement there is from his 1st list to this one. Teams must be scrambling and moving guys all over the place on their boards.
