  1. A sure way to fail is to keep changing. I'm not defending Rex but I am noting that it sometimes takes time to build. It did not work this year but next year is his second year with a personnel that he will have had more say in choosing. Let's not jump to change--that's been the Bills formula for the last 16 years. Maybe it's time to go with something different. Think of things another way. Rex has had top defenses wherever he's gone. This year he did not and a lot is his fault. But if he installs a package that works "the rex way," don't you think he can turn the D around? Can he fix the discipline and other issues? I am less sure but one thing I know: The next guy will arrive with zero respect and have to set up his own system on O and D. Nightmare.
  2. I don't even know what that means. Cruz is a senator. Paul is too. So is Bernie. All are running for president with the support of their parties and yet none would be called traditional establishment. I support who I support.
  3. Not relevant to the issues being discussed but of all the candidates at the moment, I like Rubio and Christie the most. Could live with Bush.
  4. Presidents need to be able to make deals. Obama completely flubbed the opportunity to fix social security and long term debt reduction in his now famous "move the goalpost" moment. That would have been a great moment for us as a country but he messed it up in a final moment when he decided not to bend. Cruz is in the same vein. The president of the US is not a CEO. Steve Jobs could make Apple great but not the US government. An effective political leader gets what he wants, not by ramming it down the other guy's throat (the Cruz/Obama way) but by making a deal that works. "They" did so why shouldn't "we" is a child's argument. We need less Obamas and Cruzes. The debt deal was almost done until Obama messed it up, and Cruz was willing to drive the economy off a cliff to make a point. Both are incapable of leadership of our two party ship.
  5. Agreed. When he bitched publicly, I was kind of pissed but then he got the ball and the offense improved. When you back it up, you're a good leader. If you just B word and don't back it up (Mario Williams), you're just a B word.
  6. I would love for you to be right but doubt you are.
  7. Yes, I know you want Brady, Rothlisberger and Brees. So do we all. Let me know how to get them and I'm on board. Until then, the Bills need to fix other problems. There are maybe 7 franchise QBs in the league. They are not easy to find. I'd rather Bills take a surer pick of a linebacker or 2, and lineman. That would be a better use of picks. TT + last year's team = easily a playoff team. TT + this year's team/coaching = current s$%^show.
  8. TT is about the only bright spot on this team. And maybe you missed :Guy has a highly dubious line that can't find the RB a yard for a critical TD, a No. 2 WR who is more like most team's #4, and a golfer's grandson at TE. TT is doing it with mirrors.
  9. The Bills need to spend their draft picks on linebackers (does any team in the NFL have worse ones?), and O+D Lineman, in that order. Is TT a franchise QB? Jury is still out. But he's a leader and certainly capable enough to win in the playoffs. Today was not his best day but even in defeat, he was not the problem. Guy has a highly dubious line that can't find the RB a yard for a critical TD, a No. 2 WR who is more like most team's #4, and a golfer's grandson at TE. Oh, and a 21 point hole so everyone knows he's going to throw. At least the penalties didn't kill the offense today. For a change.
  10. Rambo. But the point is a good one.
  11. Regarding the HC being fired...again... I can't believe that I am at this point. With almost anyone else, I'd say that we need continuity into 2016, that we can't keep firing coaches but Rex sucks and it's not about the players. These things are on the coach: (1) Defense goes from 4 to 20s and our guy is a defensive "genius" (2) Penalties (3) No consequences for all the absurd player behavior on and off the field (lunatics run the asylum) (4) Massive underachieving season I assume he'll be back but it hurts. I hated Rex as the Jets coach. I actually now think he's a terrific guy but not a capable head coach. At all. I don't yearn for Marrone. Nor do I want Rex. All I want for Christmas is at least 2 good linebackers. Do the Bills have the worst linebackers in the NFL? Quick: name the Bills LB you like the most. Yeah, not so easy.
  12. As much as it pains me to agree with you, I do. Cruz gives me the heebie jeebies. Just my visceral reaction. On the issues, as the guy who lead the charge to default on the debt, he seems incapable of making necessary compromises that effective leaders make. See Barack Obama.
  13. 10 LET Someone = Everyone 20 INSULT Someone 30 GOTO 20
  14. I already said I don't care about him kissing the midfield Eagle and I don't. But that he made this week all about himself over and over, and his handling of the loss, is poorly done. This season is over and I expect more from him next year. This is a young offense and he's a veteran. The offense is not that far from being pretty damn good. Real #2 WR. Right side of the line. That's about all they need to be pretty special on O. (On D...I have no idea what is going on except they got Rexed up this season.)
  15. So he can do all that...but kissing the logo is too much? Relax. I know it's 2015 and everybody has to race to be offended by everything but this is wasted energy.
  16. Yeah but still...McLovin.
  17. Neutral zone, neutral zone, neutral zone, hey let's let Ertz do a Jim Brown impression to win the game. I'd say defense was only part of the problem.
  18. Exactly. It was a classy move. McCoy didn't want to leave--he was traded and was just thanking the team where he made his name. He wasn't mooning the Bills, just thanking his roots.
  19. Who do you think commits the penalties Einstein? But it's the coach who instills or doesn't instill discipline Rex will give them all a big hug after the game. If it was one game of penalties, I'd be madder at the players. When it's a season of undisciplined play, I blame the coach. And when the defense goes from best to worst under the guidance of the head coach, I'll go ahead and blame the coach too. I'm going to guess MArio Williams doesn't want to drop into coverage.
  20. So in the second half when almost every drive had them behind the sticks and penalties neutralized 5 first downs and made others unattainable, who do you blame?
  21. Yup. His defense is not good. And 15 penalties, given the trend in penalties, is on him. No one else. I was at the game and was lucky to sit with some Bills fans. But the guy behind us had the perfect trolling chant after every penalty, "There ya go Rex! We knew you'd come through for us." All game long. I only wished I was tempted to join him in the jeering. Mario Williams. I don't know what he's supposed to be doing, but for at least the last two weeks on obvious passing downs, he rushes about 9 yards up field and behind the QB on every passing play. It does not seem like they ask him to power rush the QB on passing plays. Most of this is academic. The Bills missed Clay. Tyrod didn't have his best game but given all the penalties and lack of help on the line, and his great season, I won't pin this on him.
  22. You think that building a base of operations on the moon to launch ships (and make said ships) to the rest of the solar system is in the realm of budget-able possibility?
  23. Helium 3 is not even close to a practical reason to go to the moon. Getting it out of lunar soil and back to earth would be massive undertakings that would not be worth it. Clean fuel? Yes. Practical fuel? Not really. NASA has a limited budget. It's skipping the moon to explore elsewhere.
  24. I went to and send my kid to private school. They had to earn my parents' money and they have to earn my money. I am fortunate to be able to afford it. I know not everyone can. Private schools work well because they have to compete and because the cost alone filters out many parents who don't put a priority on their kid's education. Unfortunately private schools also filter out parents who put a priority on their kid's education but can't afford it. I see nothing wrong with the charter system other than it's a program administered by the government so bound to be a mess. Public schools have huge problems in protecting bad teachers and bloated administrations. And teaching to tests. And changing education approaches with the blowing of the political winds. And teaching to a low common denominator so they often suck for gifted kids. And on and on. The public school system in the US is not great.
  25. A few suck. The majority are doing time, adequately going through the motions. And a few truly make a difference. That's the normal bell curve in any business and schools are no different.
