Now I'm getting mad - Burrow vs. Allen & Buffalo Bills talk
Max Fischer replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
I won't get upset about sports opinions. I want to learn from people I trust, and I don't need everyone to fawn over my favorite teams. The good thing is the outcome of the game tends to resolve these issues, and perhaps those folks will be correct. -
McDermott. He met ridiculously high expectations, only three losses by eight points, overcame numerous internal and external challenges and still favored to win the SB. Daboll and a few others are worthy but McDermott is most deserving. Shanahan deserves high praise and has an outstanding system, but overcoming QB injuries might have more to say about Garrapollo.

I'm not a "game show" fan, but "Taskmaster" out of Britain is great fun. It may be a stretch to call it a game show, as it's not taken seriously and it's all for laughs. Five comedians compete to win ludicrous "tasks" judged by the "Taskmaster," Greg Davis. Since nearly all the tasks are taped, the possibilities are endless (up to season 14). Every season is on Youtube. The episodes are 45 minutes and go by fast. Each season you meet five new comedians/actors. Some of the contestants remain in an Andy Kaufman-ish performance art, but sometimes you're not sure. -
But . . . that's not true.

This ESPN stat says Bills are 13th in pass win rate. Five in yards per attempt. 4th in overall DVOA, 8th in pass DVOA. I'd say the pass rush isn't too shabby.

Isaiah Hodgins Bills made big mistake

The hindsight warriors are in full force. -
Yes, the Miami had OLine problems and the Bills took advantage: 3 plays, 2 yards 2 plays, 2 yard, interception 6 plays, 10 yards 10 plays, 38 yards (FG) 8 plays, 18 yards (FG) 4 plays, 8 yards (FG) 4 plays, 18 yards (TD) 3 plays, 4 yards 3 plays, -9 yards, interception 4 plays, 13 yards 11 plays, 75 yards That's TWO successful drives out of eleven. The others were gifted by the offense. An almost dominant effort. Of course, Burrow and his receiving corps are elite but if I'm a Bengals fan I'd be very concerned about the state of the offensive line. If the Bills can stop the run and get pressure with four, then the Bills will let Burrow take the short, quick routes.

- IMO, the top story all week will be the state of the Bengals offensive line. Right now, it Cincinnati could be down three starters, including both tackles. - The Ravens defense is great but even so, the Bengals could not run and their pass protection was poor. - On their first possession of the second half Bengals scored a TD (and added a two point conversion) to go up 17-10. - This was their first possession after LT Jonah Williams got hurt. They drove 83 yards for the score. - However, after that possession, the Bengals went: 3 plays, 8 yards 6 plays, 13 yards 3 plays, -1 yard Three possessions is a VERY small sample size but if it were the Bills, most would find it disconcerting.

Difference in O-Line Year over Year
Max Fischer replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miami's D-Line is very good, Josh often held the ball a beat too long and the play calling was erratic. However, the lack of consistency along the offensive line is puzzling. I didn't expect the healthy line to be world beaters, but they seem to miss assignments and the pass protection got beaten on a regular basis. Having said that, the run game has been at least average to good, the Bengals, while very good, aren't nearly as deep on the DLine, Dorsey can call a much better game and we know the line has the ability to raise its level of play. -

I liked Knives Out. It's an old fashion drawing room mystery with good characters and nice plot. I was disappointed I settled on the murder long before the end but I appreciated the attempt. I think Glass Onion is poor imitation. C+ at best. There wasn't much of a mystery and the murderer (again) seemed obvious. Not much of reveal and process to uncover the murderer and overall the story was too contrived. However, I hope they try again because I like Daniel Craig's character. -
Nope. Just need to win by one (and no injuries).

Yes, bothered people who seem to think that elves and hobbits are a certain color. You know, racists. -

Nope, it's because it's just not good. They could not replicate the aesthetic of the LOTR. Despite its budget, it felt like a cheap knock-off, poor script, weak characters and not worth the time. I wanted to like but just thought it was a waste of money. I feel the same about the new Games of Thrones. -

Tyler Bass is the Bills' best pick of the 2020 draft
Max Fischer replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Overall, a very impressive draft class, with Fromm as a notable (head scratching) miss. - Moss is still a productive player and could last many more seasons. His injury coupled with Singletary's reliability and steady improvement was too much of a hurdle. - Isaiah Hodgins has ability but not enough to justify putting him on this Bills' roster. Could play a while for teams with little WR depth. - All others are solid draft picks. Epenesa may be a "disappointment at #2" but if he's a quality rotation player who could see a second, affordable contract with the Bills, or a hefty raise elsewhere. I think he has 5 to 7 years left. - Davis should not be considered a "disappointment" from the 4th round. He may not have progressed but the Bills have squeezed a lot of production from that pick. As with Epenesa, he'll be affordable and worthy extension or "good for him" raise elsewhere. - Dane Jackson - See Davis. Dane has been a tremendous return on investment. - Gilliam - Same for Gilliam. Well worth the roster spot. - Bass. Clearly the best pick, would have been worth a 4th or 5th. -
McDermott is the third option and pretty terrible (See: Bills game). He's no better, if not worse, than Hart. I'm not a Hart fan and don't want to see him start, but he's been a very effective 6th lineman.

I’m starting to get extremely frustrated with Dorsey.
Max Fischer replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe, just maybe, the Bills would be better if their outstanding center didn't get hurt, the starting right guard wasn't out, that their left guard wasn't terrible and the right tackle was at least consistently average. Context dude. -
