Eat Crow: Your most embarrassing Bills opinions
Max Fischer replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Im not really embarrassed, just wrong: I was convinced the Bills would resign Edmunds and I would have been very pleased. Thought the opposite of Ed Oliver. -
Any Amateur Beer Brewers? Looking For Tips
Max Fischer replied to SinceThe70s's topic in Off the Wall
I've been brewing for a few years and have been researching my own brewery for several years. A few things have changed: BOATLOADS OF HELPFUL INFORMATION: The internet is chockful of great beer-making advice, from simple extract brewing to very complex methods. Recipes: There are several great recipe sites that provide very detailed ingredients and steps. I highly recommend "Brewfather," which, for a few bucks, it includes printable recipes to order ingredients, "brew along" for step-by-step instructions, timers, and a few "add-ons" to keep track of your progress. There are dozens of free sites as well. Technology: Tech is a huge improvement. Most brewers have moved away from the brew kettle and glass carboys to easier-to-use (and safer) plastic fermenters, and many of the brew systems have become much more affordable and easy to use. IMO, it's worth the some investment into good tools that make brewery much more enjoyable. Some recommendations: electric brew systems, conical fermentors, web and app-based trackers for temperature and fermentation, etc. At first, the tech can seem overwhelming, but the more you brew, the more you'll say, "Ah, that would make this so much easier." Youtube and other sites: There are dozens of well-versed brewers who can provide very helpful tips, tricks, and step-by-step guides. Try a few and find the brewers that you like. For new brewers, discovering WHY something is important will ignite many "aha" moments. (See: oxidation, one of the most important and easy-to-screw-up lessons). Start simple: My advice for those getting back into brewing and teaching new brewers, start with easier recipes and ferminations. Use Single Malt and Single Hop (SMASH) recipes ales that have no dry hop additions and two-week fermentation. If a recipe does not fully explain why you need to do something, look it up. Once a new brewer understands the "why" they will faster graduate to more complex beers. If lucky enough to have one nearby, go to homebrew shop for all your needs, and sign-up for a brew-making class. No matter how many times I brew I always learn something. For on-line materials/equipment, I like MoreBeer. -
I think Kincaid's pass-catching stats may not be a great indicator of his impact this year. Snaps may be his most important stat. Other than Diggs, it's been a long time since the Bills had a second receiver who might be a threat anywhere on the field, which could put pressure on the secondary and force them to hesitate. The biggest beneficiaries of Kincaid's presence may be Diggs, Davis, and possibly Knox. If Kincaid averages 30+ snaps, then the schemes might be working. The Bills' offense might be cooking if it's more than 40-45.

NFL.com ranks the most "complete" teams in the NFL; Bills at #6

This is pricey, but perhaps not a bad deal once the secondary market kicks in. Research indicates that Seat Unique is a legit company with the blessing of Manchester United, the Jaguars and good consumer report reviews. Still a better deal than the very expensive "packages." https://www.seatunique.com/sport-tickets/nfl/nfl-london-tickets/e5e6b4b0d3-9ec9f44b-c184-40d9-b8dc-5cadbffcbb0b/a40a6325

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
Max Fischer replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nope. Parker's cap hit to the Patriots was $6M/yr for two years - NOT $12M/yr. That's a very cap-friendly deal for a decent, if unspectacular, receiver. Let's put aside whether the Pats gave up WAY too much for Parker, and speculate whether the Bills could try to make the same exact deal. Why would any team give up a 3rd for a one-year contract and the possibility not sign Davis after the season? Moreover, why get rid of Davis for what is essentially moving up from the 5th to the 3rd? Yes, he would have a diminished role, and the Bills might not be able to sign him for 2024 and beyond, but he would STILL be much more valuable for the Bills THIS season than any reasonable return on a trade. Pros: - Davis could be a very good #3 (if not one of the best in the league) - Davis floor likely has a much higher floor than any other receiver on the roster. - Davis could easily step into #2 if Diggs or Hopkins cannot play. Cons: - May not be able to resign Davis after the season -
Thanks. I would have assumed reselling the premium tickets (I couldn't get two together), but the "regular" tickets I've seen on sale seem a bit sketchy.

How are these tickets available? Who's are they?

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
Max Fischer replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
What do you think the Bills will get for a #2/#3 receiver on the last year of a rookie contract? 4th or 5th rounder? That's hardly worth it. What benefit would the Bills get out of a trade when they could have a receiver who did VERY well as a #3 and could easily slip into #2 if Diggs or Hopkins? Davis is a proven #3, while the others are not. -

I'd say that's about a 5% chance, and that may be too high. Davis would likely move to WR3. With Hopkins in the #2, Gabe could be even more productive than he was in 2021. -
NFL.com ranks the most "complete" teams in the NFL; Bills at #6
Max Fischer replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
#6 seems about right. The Bills have questions - at RT - I'm "hopeful" Brown will be "decent" but its no sure thing. - at LG - will Torrence be an upgrade *this* season? - at RG - McGovern looks like a sure upgrade but we'll see. - at MLB - huge unknown - at CB2 - will Elam take a significant step? - at WR2, Gabe needs to be much better this year. - at RB in general (plus blocking from OL) - at DE, who will fill #40's shoes for a few weeks? - at DL, Ford should be a big help, but need career years from Ed and Settle -

Nice post. May I ask why you moved to NZ and if you would recommend it. -
Four roster needs the Bills still must address
Max Fischer replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm most concerned about: Right Tackle - Spencer Brown has the potential to improve. But if not, or he gets hurt, I have very little faith (zero?) in Quessenbery. Linebacker - We all know there's a steep drop after Milano, so if he's hurt, there's little confidence in the rest of the corps. Defensive End - Not a lot of confidence Epenesa or Basham will get much better. -

The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
Max Fischer replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fans often like middle schoolers. "Do you think they like-like me? Or just like me? They passed by and smiled, but didn't say hi . . . I think that means they're seeing other people." -
Florio raises an excellent question:
Max Fischer replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
"It's a REALLY good question. This team restructures Allen, and does what with it, exactly? Finds a cheap guard? Brings back AJ Klein?" It's NOT a good question. It's very ignorant. - The question/statement implies that Allen restructuring somehow negatively affects his contract. (Hint: it does not) - Restructuring NEVER hurts the best players. Never, ever, never. - This also implies that the Bills did not deliver on something Allen wanted. If so, what exactly? - The media dude is offers zero proof that Allen expected anything in particular that was not delivered. You took it hook line and sinker. - Tell us where the Bills spent poorly? Poyer? Milano? Diggs? White? Knox? Morse? Von Miller? Which one don't you like? -
At least everyone will stop rankingthe Packers as the worst late round pick.

Agree. It's very amusing. She never comes close to breaking character. The actress is in Ricky Gervais' "After Life" - which I highly recommend.
