Not to belabor the point, but it’s a years long pattern that Edmunds’ role isn’t to shoot that gap but to protect against the play action. Klien can’t do that, he’s much more suited for what he did. The MLB job is changing to reflect the pass-happy league. The Ray Lewis era is over.

Also, build a good lead and opponents will abandon the run game.

I’m not aware of evidence that proves Edmunds “isn’t good” shooting the gap, but I’m quite certain he isn’t asked to play that role. If anything that’s what Milano, Klien and even Poyer do much more often. As you note, Edmunds is a superior space eater in pass coverage, which is his job. Fans say Edmunds doesn’t have “good instincts” but he doesn’t play down hill, he plays a step back and then sideline to side line - not shooting gaps. Saturday’s goal line plays illustrated this well.

Glad to see Mitch Morse looks better than last year. Trubisky’s improved play makes me feel much better about Allen missing time. Singletary has really stepped up. Still concerned about interior DL, consistent guard play and CB2 (and punter). Edmunds looks healthy. Brieda’s role still seems undefined. But will wait until regular season. Gage Davis looks like the true WR2.

Boy will you be disappointed when the Bills sign Edmunds to a fat contract after he makes his third straight pro bowl.

Too many Bills fans blame Edmunds for everything that goes wrong on defense. What I saw was a leaky defensive line, which was disconcerting. Edmunds is widely respected by opponents and beloved by Bills players and coaches. That should mean something to Bills fans.

Oh boy. Step away from the pipe. Smith isn’t in the same league as Edmunds and AJ was “fine” but thank God we have two weeks for Ferguson to heal or we’re in for a circus.

Next year, I would welcome Fitz as Allen’s backup. Doubtful of an offer (or accepted) but who knows?

I've only seen Band of Brothers about 30 times. Pacific is very good, just different and a bit more brutal. Currently filming "Masters of the Air."

IMO, Watchmen is a superior limited series. Hit all the right notes - and I hated the original Watchman movie and think the graphic novel is somewhat overrated. On Peacock - We are Lady Parts is very well done comedy. Young muslim women in London punk band. Great characters, direction, acting, and story line. Fresh and original. Six half-hour episodes.
