New OT rule is approved for postseason
Max Fischer replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't get why this isn't also for regular season. I assume they don't want games going on forever but you could institute two possessions and then a tie. -
You don't draft a guard in the 1st ... or do you?

But this isn't a video game. You don't get to name your price and expect a team to accept. -

I think it's logical to give a bit more "weight" to a position of extreme need. If it's close, I think if the Bills select a CB, no matter how much I like someone like Zion Johnson cementing a potentially outstanding OL. My standards for WR are a bit higher, as I believe that a receiver needs to be good enough to become a starting slot or WR2 with Diggs possibly moving to slot (see Jameson Williams). -

You cannot rule out a potentially excellent starting lineman for a CB or WR you don't believe has first round value. It's very probable that ALL of the first round worthy CBs and WRs are gone by 25. If so, it would be hard to pass up a starting OL that could help the offense cook. -

At #25, you don't get to be picky. Many "experts" believe it's rare there are 32 "first round worthy" players, especially this year. Normally, from about 25 to 32, the "rules" seem to be different. For the Bills, it probably comes down to whether the "top" CBs and WRs are on the board, and if not, take the best offensive lineman. However, if the Bills believe the OL is far ahead of a CB and WR, then go ahead and take Zion Johnson, I mean, whoever they really like. -
I'd think everything would have to go right to complete a new stadium in time for August 2025. It's pretty rare to have a major project completed in two years. Weather alone could add months to a schedule.

It's March 25, there is plenty of time and quite a few possibilities out there.

Keuchley is a near Hall of Famer so a comparison is unfair to most LBs, the point is that they both had/have a very crucial role in McD's defense. At one time, McD had two starting rookies CBs and has always had one who was pretty average. Not so at the MLB. As for captaincy, many players could be a captain but there was a reason Edmunds was picked at such a young age. That trait is not easily replaced.
-
McDermott's defenses have a history starting a young or average CB at one and sometimes both CB positions. On the other hand, McDermott has always had a MLB that eat up the middle of the field. I know (too many) fans dismiss Edmunds' contributions but I'm confident McDermott has no interest in swapping out his captain for an upgrade at CB.

Yes, let's create an even bigger hole.

Joe Buscaglia's 7 round Bills Mock draft (paywall)
Max Fischer replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
My first reaction was surprise because the past few years Joe B was adamant that an early round RB was in the cards. However, if the top CBs are off the board, as well as Zion Johnson, I think the Bills could give Hall consideration. I doubt it happens but the Bills seem to be pulling out all the stops so, who knows? -

I won't do W/L, but by so-called Power Rankings. The AFC West teams could chew each other up. 1. BUF 2. LAC (Herbert's big year, if he takes the next step, so do the Chargers - this is Allen/Bills 2020) 3. CIN (Big improvments at weakest points. Which defense shows up?) 4. DEN (Hard to ignore all the improvements. But wouldn't be surprised if they lay an egg.) 5. KC (Mahomes, better D, draft capital to plug Tyreek hole a bit but very tough division) 6. BAL (Big year for Lamar, have Ravens done enough to bounce back from injuries?) 7. OAK (Better team than last year, but has Carr peaked?) 8. TEN (Lot to like about this team, soft division, but so many quesitons) 9. MIA (Hate to say, but they will be a tough out. Tua still a mystery though and could get quick hook) 10. CLE (Better win early or this is a lost year) 11. IND (Possbily surprise team of the AFC. I think they could put it together and win the South). 12. JAX (End up around here or at the bottom again - a coin flip) 13. PIT (This may be too high). 14. NE (.500 may be a great coaching job. Just blame the GM) 15. NYJ (All eyes on the QB) 16. HOU (Could be much better but coaching and owner don't inspire confidence)

Tyreek seeking a trade [Now: Traded to the Dolphins]
Max Fischer replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I actually think KC made the right move. The move will no doubt hurt them in the short run, as Hill is nearly impossible to replace. However, he's 28, relies entirely on speed and his next contract will be an albatross. The bevy of draft picks allow KC to find a decent replacement and likely a few more pieces on offense. Moreover, they free up much needed cap space. It's still a huge gamble for KC but I think it could pay dividends as early as this season. For Miami, they get an elite WR who will immediately make the Dolphins better. However, it's a very heavy price, especially when their QB might not have the tools to take full advantage of Hill's skills. The Dolphins have so many holes, it doesn't seem to make sense to sacrifice all their resources on a WR who may have already peaked. -
Trading Edmunds makes no sense at this point
Max Fischer replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
Too many Bills fans crave a few “splash” plays over consistent solid play. In this defense, Edmunds and Milano might have more responsibility and tougher assignments than just about any LBs in the league. Their role is not to be hunters, they are the shield. -
From Dawg Pound to Bills Mafia - Browns Fans Leaving for the Bills
Max Fischer replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
To be clear, in my hypothetical you believe it’s “brutally logical” for an orphanage to rehire a person that 22 children accused of child abuse because they were not indicted? -

I understand your position in theory but find it very unfortunate and robotic, if not illogical. Let’s hope you are not running an orphanage and decide to rehire a person whom twenty-children accused of them child abuse but was not indicated. “The court of law says they are not guilty and I will not convict them in the court of public opinion. Besides the kids always liked his candy.” -

There’s a HUGE “human” difference between “innocent in the eyes of the law” and not proven guilty in the court of law. OJ was found not guilty. You may dismiss “the court of public opinion”, which can be fueled by misinformation and prejudice, but there is also common sense. In this case there is a great of evidence to suggest that Watson is a serial sexual predator or at the very least a pretty bad dude. How anyone could dismiss that is beyond me. It’s human to arrive at the conclusion that a person not found guilty by the courts is indeed guilty of their crimes. On the other hand, as we witness too often, it is human to embrace cognitive dissonance to find a convenient work around to things they would normally find repulsive.- 284 replies

I think Howard could turnout to be a very underrated move. There's little doubt about his ability, but if he could unlock his potential, Howard could be a devestating weapon in this offense. Two skilled tight ends could be a match-up nightmare, espeically if they run heavy play action.

Yeah, the board should debate Edmunds again. -
Delete this thread and check your sources. "Front Office Sports" is not a journalistic organization. They simply regurgitate news for clicks. If Parrino, Graham and the army of Bills reporters didn't report the threat, then it's a good bet it never happened.
