That was a good win. Most of the game it felt like the bounces and the momentum were not going our way. It was good to see them be able to turn that around. When watching the Sabres games, just for fun at the halfway mark into the first period, I will make my prediction for the final score. For quite a while, those predictions were pretty good. If we weren’t going that night, it was obvious right out of the gate. Later this season I was pleasantly surprised several times that they were able to overcome slow starts and turn the game their way. This is a very good sign, imo.

He don’t need no stinkin nickname! We should just kick back and let James Cook!

Hey man, you’re welcome. Initially I thought it was a generational take but then you made me realize it was maturity

Well, here is what I actually posted “While the Eichel shots here are understandable, It would be nice to see that fade away with a bit more time. “ Keep in mind too that trades take time to evaluate so you may not get the last laugh. Tage has shown that. Gloat away! Enjoy the moment! Live your life around hopes for Jack’s misery, if you wish. Based on replies I guess, for this group, I was wrong to point out that I thought we should start to move on. I am just of the opinion that failing to do so reflects poorly on Sabres fans. I could be wrong

Just my observations. Folks can just consider the source as silly, as I do with your posts.

Don’t think so. I have some beer aided posts around though so I asked you to refresh my memory. The post you reference does not sound like my sentiments of the Pats games so I am feeling more confident saying you are remembering wrong

Another good point.

It does take maturity to move on from a failed relationship. That’s a good point.
-
You would have to refresh my memory on that. I don’t recall that conversation

Well enjoy then I guess. Seems petty to me but so does my ex. Different strokes for different folks.

With Vegas missing, the better draft pick is a nice bonus. While the Eichel shots here are understandable, It would be nice to see that fade away with a bit more time. To my ears it is starting to sound like someone constantly slamming their Ex. The relationship is done, let’s consider moving on. Cash in that round 1 draft pick, keep progressing, and get our kicks from our team’s upcoming success.

Oh, he will have some issues, imo. Anyway, I guess it is a ‘we will see’ but I hope you are absolutely right and he gets past it without serious problems.

Even if Tre is held back in preseason and ready to go week 1 of the season, the knee will almost certainly get tweaked at some point, will swell, and will require some time off. I have entirely too much experience with knee issues, including 3 acl tears. No, not one in each leg, smart guy What would it cost us to trade with a non playoff contender for a rental CB that we promise to trade back before October 15th? Lol

Paying the stars obviously leaves little for the rest. I think the Bills mid tier depth and the special teams aces will have to go and we won’t lose as many of the name players as feared. This means we keep less talented depth players and will cut better players in favor of younger and cheaper depth

Please don’t let Dahlin teach anyone how to play defense. The guy is marvelous with the puck but his fundamental defensive skills should not be emulated. In fact maybe Power can teach Dahlin how to play better defense

Possible FA strategy adjustment in 2022?
Bob in Mich replied to Einstein's Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t follow the other teams close enough to know their CB’s but was hoping someone may... With so many new coaching staffs around the league, I was wondering if there may be some promising 2-3 year vet CB’s that may now be in the ‘wrong’ defensive schemes AND may fit our defensive scheme well? Perhaps a later round draft pick could snag a promising CB on draft day if that team’s new regime got a better fit at CB in an early round? Any hope there? -
Bill Maher: Hero to the left or enemy of the people?

Yes, my bad. Sorry. You are correct!

Just a reminder that the college hockey Frozen Four games are scheduled for 5pm and 8:30pm Eastern time today. Michigan plays in the early game Edit: corrected to state Michigan plays in 5pm game

Lorne, I disagree with points all over your post but it would take me days to refute them all. How about we discuss a few of them and then if you want to discuss some of the above points further, you bring them back up? To expect any Congressional hearing to not be political, is beyond naive Len. Being politically influenced does not make the hearing useless however. Were the Watergate hearings useless? Nixon’s involvement would never have been uncovered in a typical police investigation of the break in, imo. Just because political points are attempted in Congressional hearings does not invalidate the whole investigation. And of course, not all political wrongdoing worthy of halting would warrant criminal charges You claiming facts are no longer real if stated by committee members, is about the most silly thing I have seen out of you. I think that is what got me to actually post the initial reply.
-
Thanks for being there, Len. Oh, I often read some irrational post and pen a quick reply. Typically I come to my senses, ‘what is the point?’, and in the end I don’t send the reply. There are so many here (on both sides, btw) that are just way too dug in to concede anything. Textbook logic and argument will not get those entrenched to budge On the other hand, you have typically been largely reasonable. When I read the quoted response a couple posts up, I was sort of surprised to see you adopting the half crazy logic of the entrenched.

That’s an interesting idea but not gonna happen, eh? It would make the shootout more like the game though. I have understood instituting the shootout and it can show off some amazing individual skills but it certainly isn’t all that much like the game itself Anyone else watching the college hockey tourney? Been some very entertaining games. Michigan has a couple of Sabre prospects to help the interest level too Hopping between the college and pro hockey games on TV I found myself yelling at the Sabres to ‘hit that guy’. I know there is a playoff intensity that is not in the pro game but damn, I sure wish we followed through on our checks a whole lot more often
