For those saying “this is what we voted for…”

Not libertarian. Or traditional Republican. -

It's hard to reconcile that with Trump. It really is. The guy is all over the map, but it's hard to argue that he has much in the way of libertarianism going for him. I'll step away now. -
45% of US companies to raise prices…
SectionC3 replied to joshypoo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Carrying the water for the rich folks. Well done. Whatever the number is -- maybe it's even 37 -- it's a lot more than it would be in your flat tax idea. So if you're all for more giveaways to the rich, then go for it. We agree to disagree. *** And, I can't believe I missed this. A Trump voter complaining about class warfare. This is rich. Trump thrives on demonizing and dividing. But "fair share" is unacceptable. -

Here's one. Why should you and Terry Pegula have the same marginal tax rate? Everyone should pay their fair share. Done. -

Well, Beavis, it does seem like tariffs present an added expense. Almost like a tax, if you will. Flat tax is cool if you're Steve Forbes or Terry Pegula. Otherwise it is a freaking terrible idea. Especially for working people. -
This is the fallacy of the whole thing. What kind of deal? About fentanyl? Or American manufacturing? Or opening Chinese markets to American services (which it should be about)? Or just some superficial nonsense that doesn’t substantively address the first two concerns and glosses over the third?

UPDATE 2025 - The Trump economy
SectionC3 replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Tariffs haven’t hit yet because inventories increased in anticipation of the new taxes. Once those inventories sell off we’ll see what happens. We’re still looking at a 30% sales tax on Chinese imports, which, based on WalMart’s reporting, is likely to slow purchasing and increase prices. -
Yeah, this is about right. It's not about manufacturing. It's not really about fentanyl. It's probably not even about reordering global trade. Or even imposing a sneaky national sales tax (which is the end result). It's about ego. None of it makes the slightest bit of economic sense.

Shnowman is there for Christmas. Josh is there for SNF.

Finally I agree with you on something. He proposes this nutty ess to distract the masses--including and especially people like you--from his many failings. Egg prices, inflation, trade, trade deals, even immigration. You name it. If it matters, he screws it up. So why not propose stuff like MAGAza, and Alcatraz, to distract from the bigger things, like his bad economic policies?

You can say a lot (of bad) about Gabe Davis, but the ankle breaker in 13 seconds …. kinda clutch.
-
Based on the knee accessories I’m guessing it’s Kincaid.
-
I wanted him gone during his last year here, and now I’d love him back in the Mack role. He’s exactly what we need as a blocker, enforcer, lower tier option, and all around dude. He was miscast as a 2 but is in his lane as a 4 or 5.
-
Agreed. That's the 4:25 standalone November sweeps game, probably played the week of or the week before Thanksgiving. (I meant to quote the point about the Chiefs game potentially being on week 17 on MNF.)
-
Is a failure. Reopen Alcatraz, but not a single thing done about inflation. What a waste.
-
Jesus was a brown migrant. I doubt He likes your extreme radical positions on immigration. That is a hoax.

The outrage isn't fake. But the B-Man is a Fake Catholic. You're exactly right about Dolan. He yukked it up with Trump before the election. This nonsense is exactly what he wanted.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
SectionC3 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sloppy route runner. Will fit in well with Kincaid if Kincaid doesn't clean up his act. He better be. Cooper wasn't that good. Hollins was a lot better than anyone thought he would be. We will miss Mack. -
Such is the price of "saving the country," I guess. I'm glad that these likely paycheck to paycheck truck builders agreed to bite the bullet and lose their trailers and go hungry and not go on government assistance (because that's for socialists only) so that we can "save the country" from whatever it is that required "saving." I will admit he's got a point about overconsumption. But I completely agree with you - that's a personal decision. And the overconsumption in no way justifies all of his nonsense BS re: tariffs and debt and destruction of wealth.
-
Coop was replaced (maybe upgraded) with Palmer. Samuel is healthier now than he was last year. Coleman has experience. Shakir is a stud. Kincaid won’t have two friggin broken kneecaps. It’s not an unreasonable play to run it back.

Let’s make another point in defense of Beane - in the KC playoff loss at home, we spent THE WHOLE GAME setting up the shot play to Diggs that may well have won the thing for us. And what happens? “WR1” drops the ball, which was one of the best throws I have ever seen in that stadium. A veritable dime. So we can pay these guys huge bucks and have someone cancel them, or have them prone to error, at the worst times. Or we can work on enhancing our ability to stop opposing offenses while playing the same cards in the hand that yielded the highest scoring offense in the league last year. It’s a no-brainer to me. I’m with Beane.
-
This too shall pass. Beane probably could have been a little calmer. But there’s a human point that he has spent tens of thousands of hours on his craft, and has to stand by and take public criticism from guys who are functionally illiterate in that area. And his points are fair ones. I’ll add this (not having seen anything other than the short YouTube clip): how quickly we forget bringing in castoffs like Linval Joseph, Zion Logue, Jordan Phillips, and Quinton Jefferson mid-year to address a failing DT position group. Want to fault Beane for getting stuck with Kincaid and not trading up for Addison? That’s a fair point. But having watched the last two years, I can’t believe that anyone has an issue with rebuilding the DL in this draft, even at the expense of the WR group. Another good point. It’s not like Beane ignored WR altogether. Much like DL, we locked up one of our own (Shakir) and got a B-level FA at the position who fits a need (Palmer, relative to Hoecht). That’s what talk radio and podcasts are all about. And it’s why I don’t listen.

With the draft over it is time for the udfa thread

It also tells me the staff doesn’t like Ingram all that much.
