That FG Decision by McDermott

Contrast it with Harbaugh going for two too early and we have ourselves a playoff victory. -
1/19/25 Division Round Playoff Post Game Thread Bills vs. Ravens
SectionC3 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Too predictable. I would have used Ray Davis and done gap tubs a lot more in the second half. No rhythm in the passing game. Footing probably was brutal. Cook couldn’t really run his cutback zone or inside zone. Looking forward to playing on a cleaner surface next week. -
We’re winning this game. Every playoff run has a “survival” game. Ours was today. We’re going to slay the dragon next week.

And dropping the ball. Don’t forget that.

Lets talk complementary football and the 2nd half

Agreed. Totally. -
It’s a problem. I was on the other side of the stadium, but I don’t know how the eff Hamlin had the ball go over him for a completion on the Ravens drive in the first half that ended in a FG.
-
Agreed. Thought the same thing in the stadium. But that ball had to have been like a frozen bar of soap today. It wasn’t a great game. Or a pretty game. But it was well managed.

1/19/25 Division Round Playoff GAMEDAY THREAD Bills vs. Ravens

Today is a day to choose violence. I will add run at Lamar. Don't let him keep the ball. Take the suspense out of it and make sure we know it's going to Henry. Then game is on Daquan and Ed to disrupt and to win. -
Me too. Flowers out is big. Big challenger for jones and Oliver. Let’s see them step up.

Any Ray Davis injury (concussion) updates?
SectionC3 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
But he might not dress. Because they want an extra LB. So if Davis can’t go, and they have to have gore up, and gore doesn’t return kicks, and they want the LB instead of Codrington, who is back there with Johnson? -

If he doesn’t go, and Codrington is down, who is back with Johnson on KOR? It’s interesting. Davis’s health might impact LB, too. 48 was up last week. Is he down if they have to play Codrington? Or, more likely, is codrington is down and we roll with Johnson and Samuel on KOR. -
Looks like we know who will play the role of Lamar Jackson in practice this week.
-
I generally agree with this. I’d run right at Lamar to take the mystery out of where the ball is going. Put the onus on the DL/backers to maintain gap integrity and get Henry down. Mix and match coverages (that is, move the safeties around and hold our breath and run man a bit more than usual) to maybe confuse Lamar and steal a possession.

What % of the plays will we play 3 LBs on Sunday?
SectionC3 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a fair question. I wondered about the idea of sprinkling in some 4-3 with Johnson dealing with a TE and being the in-the-box safety. We switched things up in a sort of similar way a couple of years ago when we played a lot of Siran Neal and Efe Obada against NE. I wonder if the bigger question is how to deal with Lamar, however. I’m a believe in running right at him every time they run read option. Let’s take the mystery out of it so that there’s no guessing on D where the ball is going in that scenario. The Henry issue can be dealt with from there. -

They destroyed Morrow when he was in. He couldn’t handle the back. (Hill, I think??) -
I don’t think that’s always true, especially if there’s no escrow involved. I don’t recall ever furnishing my lender with proof of insurance (and I never had escrow involved and only had the mortgage for a couple of years).

I thought about this last night. I'm sorry that you (and others) have to endure this. I read an article (maybe in the WSJ) a little while back about people bucking the trend of getting homeowners insurance. The basic premise was that the price of the insurance is such that it's worth the risk not to get that coverage and to hope that the house survives undamaged for the length of the mortgage (and beyond, I suppose). I couldn't help but wonder how many people lost that bet this week. It's very sad.

One way to get back in good graces is to not publish stuff that, for example, would have hurt the trade value of former employee #14. Even after the first McD piece was released. And I can tell you with certainty that there’s a couple of whoppers on that issue floating around, and least one of which I know to be true.
-
I'm still going to add my suspicion that Dunne sat on a couple of things for them, too.
-
No, it’s not. Again, it’s not that hard.
-
Play the starter. This isn’t that hard. I’d rather have an injury to a backup than to a starter. Offensive line is the engine of this team. Clapp + four backups allows you to play the second unit in its entirety. Yes, some rotational players - epenesa, for instance — likely will have to play some. But there’s no reason to not dress Clapp for Mike friggin White in a game where the priority is to not get hurt.
-
Sure. Gore at QB. Wildcat. Whatever. The starting five don’t see the field, Allen takes one snap out of shotgun and either hands the ball to cook or throws it in the general vicinity of Samuel and the rest of the game is inside zone, power, duo and get it over with.
