I'll nominate Aerosmith's "Love in an Elevator."

What's hockey?

What a joke that is. How many starts did Losman have? Did he even have one? P.S. Roethlisberger wasn't even that great. Check his stats. And remember, yes he made some nice plays but how many times was he being relied on to throw the ball? The Steelers offensive strategy was to pound the ball and get into third and short situations. When you're only asking your QB to get 3 or 4 yards for a first down, that's usually a good plan.
-
I think the key is to throw the new QB in there and have no offensive line having him run for his life. And of course, have wide receivers run quick 3-yard routes where they're barely open and can't get a first down!
-
Hard to say that. Yeah, Andy Reid and his coaching staff botched the end of the game hurting their chances to comeback. But also, anyone who says the Pats didn't win it didn't watch most of the game. The Eagles led 7-0 and cameback to tie it at 14. It was the first ever Super Bowl that was tied after three quarters. So, it was anyone's game entering the fourth. The Pats made the plays in the final quarter to win it on offense and defense. You can certainly complain about the lack of preparation the Eagles had. How could a team be so unprepared when they had two weeks? They didn't know how to run a hurry-up offense. And that's on the coaching staff. I also didn't understand the on-side kick. They had 1:46 left and two timeouts. You kick the ball deep and stop the Pats on the first two downs and use your timeouts. The Pats would have run down the clock but the Eagles would have had much better field position.

Yankees, Johnson reach $32M, 2-year deal

What I'd be curious to know is what the Yanks' payroll was when they won in '96, '98-00. I think the payroll didn't start to go ballistic until 2001 when the Yanks coincidentally landed their own station. That's when all of a sudden, they started getting every megastar no matter the cost. Matsui Contreras Giambi A-rod Sheffield Brown Vazquez (Now Johnson) Some have worked out. Some have blown up in their faces. Now, let's look at the Mets and what they're doing now. They have a new station coming in 2006. They already gave Pedro Martinez a ransom to which any Sox fan could say overpaid and breathe easier. They have offered Carlos Beltran over $100 million for 6 years. The asking price of Scott BorAS$. They have also told Beltran they would go out and get other guys (i.e. Delgado). Since when have the Mets went after the biggest names on the market? Has a lot to do with their new station. Similar to the Yanks. -

Did this guy have too much ale today? -
Amen to that Clements. Isn't that what I said yesterday and got chastised for it because I'm a Giant fan posting in a Bills forum. Go out and win your game and whatever happens, happens.

First off, we don't have a top 10 pick thanks to our idiot g.m. Second, it's a free country. So, I think I'll stick around. Third, that last point is laughable. Have a nice day. Best of luck next week.

That team was great. Vilma, D.J. Williams, Wilfork and Taylor on D. William Joseph too. Too bad he doesn't look like he'll panout. Andre Johnson as the top receiver. He was money. Shockey was on the team that won it with Winslow on the bench. And Moss too. He had some amazing plays. I know I'm forgetting some guys.

Cry me a river. Where in my post did I troll? I am a realist. Your team still has one more win to get and needs help. If that happens, then entertain Super Bowl thoughts. And secondly, so because you were at the RCA Dome sitting in the stands, it's not loud? It doesn't distract opponents on the field? Come off it.

Love Willis. Big fan of his in college. Congrats #2. You showed true heart and character. He's a champ!

And you know this how? I sense a lot of overconfidence. Who exactly have the Bills beaten during this streak? Let's see: Sun 11/21 St. Louis W 37-17 - A team that stinks on the road and has a moron for a coach. The Rams were never that good to begin with and combine that with how the Bills play at home. Easy recipe. Sun 11/28 at Seattle W 38-9 - Impressive from the aspect that it was on the road. Other than that, how exactly has Seattle been playing the past 2 months? They even lost to Dallas at home and they stink. And don't forget that Hasselbeck was out. Sun 12/5 at Miami W 42-32 - It's always good to beat a rival in a "trap game." But the Bills are much better than the hapless Dolphins. Combine that with the fact that Bledsoe owns Miami. Sun 12/12 Cleveland W 37-7 - A joke of an opponent with zero offense to speak of. Decimated by injuries and in a hostile environment. Add it up. Blowout. Sun 12/19 at Cincinnati W 33-17 - Decent win because the Bengals did have a good offense. But clearly, Kitna off the bench was no match for the Bengals D. Didn't the Bengals suffer a crushing loss the week before? Sun 12/26 at San Francisco W 41-7 -See Browns. Not much really to be said here. It would be no different if you played the Giants. Ok... so, let's say we call Seattle a quality win even though they've been very disappointing. What other game could the Bills have lost on this schedule? If you look at the entire schedule, the most impressive win was against the Jets. They physically dominated that game in the 2nd half against a similar team. And McGahee was money. I'd clarify that as your best win. It signaled the start of the turnaround. But how can anyone come out and say they'll go into the RCA Dome and destroy Peyton Manning? Cmon! In that environment, I wouldn't even give the Bills much of a chance. Manning is on a mission this year Imo. I think the Colts are winning it all. At San Diego, that might be a little easier. 1.They're not in a dome. So noise factor shouldn't be that bad. 2.San Diego doesn't exactly have the biggest fanbase. That's important in these kind of games. Hostile environments make it tougher on opponents. 3.Is San Diego's offense as explosive as Indy's? Hard to say. They certainly present problems because Tomlinson can run it and catch out of the backfield. Gates is a huge key. And Brees is throwing it well. But would I classify them on the Colts' level? Not at all. See how Brees reacts to pressure. Out of the two, the Chargers is by far the more winnable game for the Bills. But they'll need to have McGahee run for over 100 and carry it 30 times. Keep the Charger offense off the field. Pressure Brees and force a couple of turnovers. Plus Bledsoe must play a smart game. Moulds and Evans must be factors. I think the Chargers' D is pretty opportunistic also. So, it'd make for an interesting match-up.

Nice. Did you come up with that one by yourself? All I'm saying is you shouldn't count your eggs before they hatch.

Comeback player of the year..

I'd go with Ron Dayne . -
Personally, I don't think Rattay is a bad QB. If he had better talent around him and stayed healthy, he'd probably put up solid numbers. But he needs help on the line and in personel. Dorsey was a great college QB with the Canes. But he had an awesome line and great talent around. He can't deal with pressure. I'd love to see him have success. But unless he dramatically improves, it won't happen. On whether the 49ers should select Leinart, personally, I wouldn't. I believe Leinart is overrated a ton. He has a great line protecting his ass and awesome weapons. All he has to do is throw a 2-yd screen to Reggie Bush (real Heisman winner) and he can go all the way. And he has great receivers too including an awesome freshman who I can't think of. Plus another solid back. I like Rogers better on Cal and believe LeFors on Louisville will be great. But LeFors still has more time in school and splits time. There's also that Hawaii QB that people say is really good. I also believe the kid on Florida throws a damn good spiral. They should trade down. They could get a lot back. But they'll probably select Leinart because it would be very popular in the California area. Hometown kid. Ya know. Great PR. Tons of pressure though and coming into an abysmal situation.

Ideas to help Denver and NY lose......
NYGPopgun10 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Rams need to beat the Eagles tomorrow night for next week's game to mean anything for them. So, you all should be rooting for the Rams Monday. -
Don't you think it's a mistake to start contemplating who you'd rather play when your team hasn't clinched a playoff spot yet? Even if everything has gone the Bills' way, they still have to beat the best team in the conference next week. A huge step up in competition. And still need help from the Colts and maybe the Rams. I'd worry about the Steelers first. That will not be easy even if they rest guys.

Kevin Maas. I had so many of his rookie cards. Still do. LOL
-
Glad to see Tiki getting some recognition. How the hell is Roethlisberger 2nd for AFC QB? Typical hype machine when you have Drew Brees lighting it up for San Diego.
-
Is he trying to compete with the LFKATNHL (League Formerly Known As The NHL)!
-
I thought the Giants might have this but of course not. Only the Giants could go from a shoe in for a wildcard to a colossal collapse. Somewhere, Fassel must be laughing.
-
No chance in hell for two reasons: 1.Henry sagged when he had competition and it affected his on-field production negatively. 2.The Bills had all their success once he was benched. Even if injuries contributed, it really hurt Henry's value. When you have a guy who isn't playing, it's hard to justify getting a lot back in return. Teams might say, "How did this guy go from being the main guy and a quality #1 back to in the doghouse in such a short time while the other guy worked his butt off to get back from a serious injury and easily dethroned him?" You won't do better than a 3rd or 4th round pick for Henry now. There's also this. How many teams need a #1 guy? It's not a big list. That limits what they can get in return.

My feeling on this is that Toomer is here till 2008 and is still capable of being a threat. Once Eli gets acclimated, Toomer will be more involved. Last Saturday was a very positive step against Pittsburgh. And Amani had two big catches on 3rd downs. Shockey needs to be used more as a receiver. I'd ditch Hilliard and go after Muhammad and pair him up with Toomer. That would be a solid duo. Then hope Tim Carter comes back healthy because he was starting to be a deep threat when he went down this year. Coincidentally, that's when the offense began to sputter. Plus they have Tiki. So, then the offense would have potential. But they must continue the progression to more downfield stuff with Eli's arm. He throws a nice deep ball. Agreed on the line. They will need to address this in the offseason. Especially with no first round pick.

The problem with Cleveland is injuries. They have been depleted much of the year at QB and RB. When that happens, I don't care who you are. You're not going to be able to put pts on the board. And remember... when Garcia was healthy along with their backs, they took the Eagles to OT before losing. Plus don't forget the season-ending injury to Winslow. He was going to be a huge part of their offense. And would have been involved more than Jeremy Shockey thanks to that popgun genius!
