  1. I'm too lazy to look it up, but did Preston have any college experience as a center, or was it all at guard?
  2. Man, I would love to see that.
  3. McNair is really hurt by the fact that the Titans fell apart around him. If they had remained a perpetual playoff contender (like the Dolphins of Marino's day) he'd be well on his way IMO. Now he will need to put together some good seasons in Baltimore (which I think he can do, they certainly have the talent around him).
  4. This is a bit of a tangent, but it wouldn't surprise me to see McNair revitalize his career with a change of scenery. I think he may be the missing element to make Baltimore a force to be reckoned with, and 2 or 3 more successful seasons may make him a HoF contender.
  5. They're reporters, not PR people. If his honest opinion is that the Bills will be lucky to win 5 games this year, I'd rather hear him say that than try to build up false hopes. The Bills' profitability does not hinge on local reporters saying nice things about the team, it comes down to success on the field. Continued failure to win will hurt attendance, regardless of whatever PR spin is put on it.
  6. Now you're just doing it on purpose.
  7. If he wanted more plays he should've tried picking up a first down and not throwing a ball right to a defender.
  8. I'm with you, I don't see how changing this will result in anything but more controversy. If plays being blown dead is a real problem, isn't the answer changing the training of refs to not be so hasty with the whistle?
  9. I do appreciate the new twist, though. Cumin, you agree with me, don't you?
  10. She certainly represents one who's been quite active on another thread.
  11. Will you knock this crap off? You wonder why you're getting attacked, look at your replies above. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I am wondering why you're getting so worked up about it.
  12. Actually it was intended as a flippant remark but I forgot the smiley. I'm the last one who should be criticizing someone's work ethic.
  13. Forgive my skepticism, but I have a hard time believing that people who spend their days on a football fan message board have a strong work ethic.
  14. Remember when he was bragging about being the best punter in the league?
  15. Of course I have no evidence to back this up, but after the field goal I turned to my brother and said "We still have to kick off, let's not celebrate yet." The kickoff coverage that year had been quite sloppy and if I'm remembering correctly we had a couple of scary returns already that game. I didn't think it would actually happen but I was pretty nervous before the kickoff.
  16. And yet, that same Tennessee defense was able to perform adequately against a Rams offense at its peak. Their pass D may not have been good statistically that year, but by the end of the season they were certainly coming together, and they went on to have one of the top Ds the next season.
  17. Could it be that the Lakers are unhappy with LeBron James' work as goalie?
  18. Apparently he couldn't even make the Bucs squad.
  19. Buffalo sports history, recreated in a single play.
  20. Wow, thanks for that info! I knew he was one of the better returners I'd ever seen, but I didn't know just how good. 4 kickoff return TDs. I can't help thinking of the one that got away (which was probably the greatest return I've ever seen - until the end).
  21. I disagree. McGee is a proven game-changer as a kick returner. All I saw from Parrish was a tendency to fumble trying to make something happen on punt returns.
  22. Well, that is the question, isn't it? Not that there are any coaches who don't want to win, but I think there is a certain subset that would rather make the conventional choice and avoid second-guessing rather than taking what might be a good risk.
  23. But... didn't we draft a DT in round 1? A strong defensive line is the foundation of a good defense, but that doesn't mean you need to devote all resources to it to the exclusion of other defensive positions. You're on much stronger ground IMO when you point out the continued neglect of the offensive line.
