  1. As long as something similar to what you're talking about happened in a football game somewhere sometime, it's good enough for us.
  2. 0-4, next week is their last chance to beat a playoff team from last year.
  3. I don't know, with that kind of volume you'd expect at least a few hits.
  4. When the OP comes in talking about JP's "accuracy" problems, isn't it fair to look at completion percentages of the QBs he's talking about? BTW, not a JP "apologist", just sick of watching the revolving door of QBing as fans and management think that if we can just find the right guy to put under center everything will magically be better. It wouldn't break my heart if the team decided to cut ties with Losman after the season, but I think I'll lose it if we use our first-rounder on another QB.
  5. Assuming the stats at nfl.com are accurate, yes.
  6. Gradkowski: 52.8% completion, 4.72 YPA, rating 70.7 Losman: 61.6% completion, 6.69 YPA, rating 80.5 You're right, Losman's accuracy is horrible compared to Gradkowski's...
  7. I don't get it.
  8. I honestly don't have a hard time believing that a better QB could make some plays even behind this O-line. The bottom line for me, though, is it wouldn't be enough plays to matter, so why waste our time daydreaming about the stud QB we're going to bring in to replace JP? JP may very well never develop into anything, but instead of chasing the dream how about we devote some resources to what has been a problem with the team FOR 10 YEARS.
  9. Those of you who say this, or something similar, do you really believe this, or are you just setting on trashing JP? The line was absolutely horrific in pass protection today.
  10. Sweet! Once we get that time machine up and running we're all set. While we're at it let's get a do-over of the 2002 draft.
  11. True, but by my calculations that gives us a 14.2857% higher chance of success! EDIT: And a 100% greater chance of success than the Jets, who almost beat them!
  12. Some guys take longer to "get it" than others, but I agree with you that it is a concern that he hasn't even been activated for a game at this point. Assuming the team lets Clements go, I don't see any way to justify counting on this guy to step in and fill the void. I hope management is looking long and hard at FA cornerbacks who will be available.
  13. "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."
  14. "I never believed it was possible to get a triple-digit score in the NFL."
  15. That's a scary list and makes me want to give Losman next year to prove himself, too.
  16. Not that huge a difference. Really, it's not. As Rico said, the controversy starts after this year if JP doesn't start producing at a higher level than he has been. Of course, in many ways, the worst outcome for the team will be if he continues playing at a mediocre level like he has been. We really need him to either turn it on or tank it.
  17. Know what else I noticed? They didn't include Alex Smith in there either! I wonder why that might be.
  18. This is a great analysis! Thanks.
  19. I'm not going to say the defense didn't have its moments. There were a few drives where they completely stymied the Packers, Fletcher-Baker made a nice read on his int, and I think Clements played a very good game. But having said that, they gave up a lot of yards, and the turnovers were due in large part to GB miscues. The fumbled snaps in particular were completely unforced, one of which bailed out the D from a near-certain touchdown at the end of the first half. And Favre had no business attempting the throw that got picked in the end zone. I think it's fair to say that the primary story of the game is Favre giving the game away.
  20. I'm half-joking, but half-serious. Before the Chicago game, I fooled myself into thinking the team could go out, play a good game, and at least make an interesting game of it. But that game was an illustration of how far the game needs to go to compete. For better or for worse, I'm looking at this season as an extended preseason. We need to determine if we need 1, 2, 3 or more players on the offensive line, and we need to find out if JP can get the job done. Frustratingly, to me he remains an enigma, but I'd prefer to continue handing out more rope for him to hang himself with rather than pulling the plug now and still leaving doubts. If he continues on this Kyle Boller career path he's on, I won't object if the Bills opt to go a different direction in the offseason, but I think it would be foolish to take out a young QB who's playing poor-to-mediocre ball on a poor-to-mediocre team.
  21. Because I've been watching this team all season. No.
  22. I dunno, I'm also thinking about the things he didn't do, such as fumble, or throw a pick in the red zone, or throw a pick that got returned for a TD. Considering the offensive line shuffling we did, it pleases me quite a bit that the team avoided the big mistake. I certainly wasn't looking for an offensive explosion, and I think those who were were deluding themselves.
  23. Well, in fairness apparently I actually was a moron. Given many of the posts that I read on this board every day, though, I don't feel too bad about missing the joke here.
  24. Before the game, I said to my brother that I had no idea how to fairly evaluate Pennington. A rookie 7th-rounder started halfway through his first year, with a washed-up veteran next to him - I'd be shocked if he didn't suck.
