  1. Not to mention the ball was at the Giants' 27, so we're talking about a 45 yard field goal from that point. I'd rather attempt the throw. It's the kind of throw your QB needs to be able to make. Can't believe people calling out the playcall.
  2. Sorry, I think you're way off-base here. If the Bills keep winning they will become stars. In fact, I believe many in the media would love the story of the cast-off offense of Fitzpatrick, Jackson, Johnson succeeding. Remember back to 2001, who were the stars on the Patriots at that time? Certainly not Brady, but as they won, he made for an intriguing story. Was Warner a star before the Rams started winning?
  3. Reason #15: Bills fans are unable to recognize sarcasm.
  4. The sack totals are bad, but QB pressures yesterday led to at least 2 (I would argue 3) of the interceptions the D got. So there were signs of life in that department.
  5. Someone should talk to him about how he's carrying the ball though, he looks like a linebacker the way he's holding it.
  6. I was about to say that to my friends as we were watching - but fortunately I didn't because I thought, can't hurt to try.
  7. Oh I agree with you, the Bills need to learn how to close out a game. I was actually trying to argue a pretty narrow point, that if you want to have a debate about a team's strengths and weaknesses, it might be better not to say that a 4-1 team isn't good. Either that, or say that there are 1 or 2 good teams in the league at most. But steer clear of the sky is falling rhetoric (not that you were saying anything like that - that's to the OP and especially deep2evans).
  8. Sorry, I thought saying "your" there might be confusing, should've changed it. That was meant as a criticism of the OP's post, not yours - since you were saying there wasn't anything wrong with his post I was pointing out something I thought was wrong. But I didn't mean to attribute his views to you.
  9. Yep. But I wasn't about to argue that the Bills are the best team in the league, or that they're a great team like the Packers. They are a good team, though. That's the point - you've got the Packers and maybe the Saints who are a cut above, and a whole slew of teams with comparable talent and strengths and weaknesses. If you look at that, I think the only reasonable way to identify the good teams is to see who's winning.
  10. Nothing wrong with it, but there is something wrong if the team is sitting at 4-1, every team in the league has some major weaknesses, and your take on the situation is that this is not a good football team. They are, in fact, in the upper tier of the NFL so far this year. I don't see how anyone can even argue against that.
  11. Again, please tell me which team in the league is problem-free. I'm really curious.
  12. Look around the league and tell me who the good teams are this year (as BlueFire said). Yes, the Bills have definite weaknesses. But so does every single other team.
  13. And yet a week earlier, somehow the 49ers beat those same Bengals by a score of... wait for it... 13-8.
  14. There are going to be games where the defense has to step up and hold the opponent to under 20 points. This time out, they failed utterly. At the end of the game, both the offense and the defense had their shots to make a play for the win. I guess I'm not sure how you absolve the D of blame. 23 points and 450 yards of offense is not a good outing in my book.
  15. Man, what's the world coming to when you can't even make a stupid, ill-considered analogy involving Hitler without people getting bent out of shape about it.
  16. Belichick had to take the time out there unless he wanted the clock to keep running, since Freddie was down in-bounds. Are you secretly Rich Gannon?
  17. Once the original call was made, at least based on the replays CBS showed, there was not evidence to overturn it - no matter what it had been. There just wasn't an angle where you could see the ball. But the ruling on the field was puzzling at best.
  18. This was an awesome post, thanks.
  19. Wouldn't have surprised me one bit to see a flag, and it still wouldn't surprise me to see a fine - which goes to Zulu's point about inconsistency in officiating.
  20. You misspelled "pathetic". There's something wrong with you if you're getting your jollies out of mocking people who might've gotten a little overenthusiastic over a team's prospects.
  21. Why? You realize that really doesn't say good things about your personality.
  22. Everyone writing the Bills off after this loss needs to take a look around the league and realize there are only 2 undefeated teams, and every year even the Super Bowl contenders have a loss or two that leaves you scratching your head - where they should've won but just came up short. Yeah, the Bills had some weaknesses really exposed, but the lines between "good" and "mediocre" and "bad" in the NFL are thinner than ever. I think we can learn a lot more about the team based on how they bounce back from this (or not). If they want to be counted among the good teams, here's their chance. The games the first 3 weeks proved they have sufficient talent.
  23. I don't think so. It was 4th and 14, he had to try to make some kind of play there. Regardless of the outcome of the game that play would never qualify as a backbreaker.
  24. I don't understand the distinction here at all. Both Fitz and Stevie have had a season's worth of good play which has continued up until now. Why are you nervous about one but not the other?
