  1. Hey, just because he got injured and didn't do a single thing for the Ravens even when he was able to play doesn't mean the same thing would've happened if the Bills had kept him! After all, look at all the injuries the Bills had to their receiving corps - wouldn't it have been nice to have Evans around? Yeah, that line of argument made my head hurt. And I was against the trade, too, but I don't see how anyone can deny that the Bills came out ahead.
  2. I remember back in the '98 season, the 49ers did this against the Bills at the end of the first half - well, not exactly the same, but continual defensive penalties until time ran off the clock and the Bills opted to kick a field goal rather than have only one shot at the end zone. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often in late-game/half scenarios.
  3. Never seen the point in the Pro Bowl for just this reason, and I've never watched a single snap. But I don't blame the players one bit.
  4. I disagree somewhat (about the owner who doesn't know what he's doing part) - bringing in a real GM to run the team, having Ron Wolf head up the search, and giving him the authority to make changes that need to be made (such as firing a power-hungry head coach) look to me like signs of good judgment and steps to eventually get the team on track. They may have a rough few years recovering from the trade though, it really was a disaster. Edit: And also, hiring an assistant GM from GB seems like a pretty reasonable move.
  5. And Weaver said he was not going to sell the team, so clearly he is still the owner.
  6. Not really, not if it's been a growing issue since college. Sounds more like a situation where he didn't want to rush into surgery but it was getting too serious to ignore.
  7. What's the alternative? What difference does it make if we say this season is "disappointing" or "unacceptable" or any other description you might want to throw out there? How worked up can you really get about it after 10+ years of no playoffs? Me, I'm going to continue to watch the team and enjoy the games where they do well. When they don't, oh well, life goes on.
  8. BPA. I would be perfectly happy seeing the Bills draft WR, LB, OL. Even CB, although I understand a lot of people would be upset. Between WR and LB I don't think I would rank one higher than the other - they're both huge needs as we're seeing now.
  9. 2-2 by my count, but don't let that stop you.
  10. No, actually, I'm completely serious. Sorry if that bothers you, but I'm not much more than mildly irritated that the Bills lost today.
  11. The knowledge that the performance of a football team I root for doesn't reflect on me personally.
  12. Nothing is ever guaranteed. At some point you have to pull the trigger.
  13. Well, that clinches it, Gailey definitely made the right call.
  14. I don't understand this post. You start by saying this is a bad trade for the Raiders, then illustrate how worthless first rounders have been for the Bills. #1, not sure how relevant that is to the Raiders, but #2, if their drafting history is similar to the Bills', it makes this look like a great trade. So the bulk of your post either doesn't support or undercuts your initial statement.
  15. Frequent use of profanity doesn't make you look calm and in control, let's just say that. Neither does spacing words out to avoid the profanity filter.
  16. I think you're greatly overestimating the odds. I guess you can be angry instead.
  17. Yep. If Fitzpatrick really can't make that throw (he can, but supposing he couldn't), it's better to know now. The team needs a QB who can make that throw in that situation.
  18. Yes. Yes. I'd rather trust the D with a 7 point lead and 4 minutes than a 3 point lead and 2 minutes.
  19. And likewise agreed - if Barkley or Landry Jones or someone is there at the Bills' spot and they think he can be a franchise guy, by all means take him (haven't kept up with QB performances this year, no idea how these guys are doing). But no trades up like the Jets did to get Sanchez, or feeling like they need to draft a guy in the first or second if they're not confident he will develop.
  20. Thanks, that is actually a very important correction that I think everyone arguing against the call should take into consideration. So many arguments seem to treat the scenario like it was first and goal inside the 10.
  21. I think there's a real danger with this argument of tossing away the good in pursuit of perfection. I'd be ok with the Bills spending some reasonably high picks to try to find a guy who is better than Fitzpatrick - but I don't think Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers can be the standard - they're elite players in the league and don't come along all that often.
  22. That is complete, 100%, Dick Jauron football. If you don't see the problems with it I'm not sure what to tell you. No, with 4 minutes left you don't run clock and settle for a 45 yard field goal.
  23. OK, thanks. Sad thing is it read to me as only a slightly more extreme version of actual serious posts. Sorry for the confusion, TBB.
  24. Wow. Parody, I hope?
  25. Absolutely right, you could make a case for PI on that play but it would've been a cheap first down.
