  1. Glad to see you don't just confine your ridiculous opinions to the Bills.
  2. 0-8? Who gives a crap at that point? Hell, put Brad Smith in as the starter if we're doing that poorly. Any QB would be in great danger of losing his starting spot in the scenario you described. But if Fitzpatrick is putting up mediocre numbers and the Bills are in the playoff hunt, no way he gets benched.
  3. I disagree. I think if the team is confident that Powell will not be a major step down from Moorman in both punting and holding duties, Moorman is done. Powell is younger and cheaper, and given that he will be expected to improve, I don't think he needs to beat out Moorman outright so much as produce a competitive performance.
  4. And from Chan's quote in the article, he's completely upfront that there is a competition for the job. That's respectful to both players. I don't think, for as great a career Moorman has had with the Bills, he's owed consideration above and beyond that.
  5. Used to be even easier, just an option when you right clicked on a user's name. I was very sad when that went away in one of the board upgrades.
  6. You noticed the background?
  7. That's a great evaluation process you've got there. Clearly the only sensible 2nd round pick would be someone at a position that no one had picked yet.
  8. Unless you think there's such a team as the San Jose Bills, please take a moment to consider that San Jose Bills Fan may not live in Buffalo. But then again, given that you think the Bills should consider taking Alshon Jeffery in the 3rd, maybe that's asking a bit much.
  9. Y'know... I understand not liking the pick, I understand thinking that there are better players the Bills should've picked. But pitchforks and torches over a third round pick? Get a grip.
  10. And I've learned from this thread that a questionable third round pick is enough to ruin a draft. Tough crowd.
  11. Always some real headscratchers, aren't there?
  12. I wouldn't have minded a Floyd pick too much, but I do have to say I would've been concerned about his off the field incidents. Even from a talent perspective, I haven't been blown away by what I've read about him, either. So while I would've been ok with it, I just don't see it as a clear-cut better choice than the top remaining corner. I expect to see a lot of focus on offense as the draft goes on, with the possible exception of an LB they really like, and most likely a late DB pick (DB haters, steel yourselves to get worked up into a frenzy about our 7th-round pick).
  13. I'd rather see Nix stick to his strengths. His strength is talent evaluation, not draft day maneuvering, and I'm ok with that. There are always going to be good players available to select. Sometimes I feel like teams are moving around for the sake of moving around.
  14. Do you believe that Gilmore, specifically, is a dime a dozen DB, or do you think any DB pick is a dime a dozen? I can respect the first view but the second is absolutely ridiculous. I don't follow your reasoning. The Bills defense was bad last year (and I would say noticeably bad in the secondary, along with the pass rush, which was addressed in FA) so you don't see how a talented player at a key position will help? And... the Bills should've taken Kuechly, who was taken before the Bills picked?
  15. DT seems way too crowded to me to add a player there. Where is the impact? Hightower I really can't say one way or the other. I wouldn't have been unhappy with the pick from a positional standpoint.
  16. But... who did you want to see them take and where do you fit them in to address "getting blown off the line on defense"? The Bills added two players to the DL this offseason. Once Kuechly was gone, who's the guy you wanted to see to shore up the front 7? I don't think Nix thought we were losing games solely because of bad corner play, but I gotta say, watching those games last year, there was some downright horrific corner play.
  17. Apparently taking a corner in the top 10 is always and in all ways a horrible decision, regardless of the caliber of the actual player. I'm ambivalent on the pick, but the bad DB picks of the past aren't a reason to knock this one. Like Ramius said earlier, the problem with picking McKelvin, and Whitner not quite to as large a degree since he has proven to be a multi-year starter, was that the players were not good enough to justify the pick. I'm just glad they didn't take one of the remaining tackles based on thinking they needed to.
  18. If we got all those guys I'd be stoked!
  19. Compared to this team's defensive efforts over the past decade, that would be a stellar showing.
  20. If Nix and co. share this evaluation, could the tight ends in our division drive them toward this pick?
  21. I dunno man, that shows pretty good endurance. Maybe that should be a new event at the combine.
  22. It's allowable during the offseason but not recommended once games start. Here's to a speedy recovery, Tipster!
  23. Some value, perhaps. On the other hand, teams may just wait around to see who gets cut. None of those guys are elite talent - they can be good role players with the right guys around them.
