EJ and Spiller for Geno and a First Rounder
Luxy312 replied to rfk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WTF would we want Geno Smith. He's turned the ball over more than any QB in the NFL. Might as well have said CJ Spiller for a warm beef taco. Just plain idiotic. -
MMQB Deep Dive: Bills D vs. Pats* O
Luxy312 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very simply put, the Bills have to hit and put pressure on Brady. Go back and look at the statistics of games where the Patriots dominated versus games where they were dominated, and you'll see a theme. When Brady gets knocked around early and often, his completion percentage drops way off and he makes mistakes. Whether the Bills are able to do this with the front 4 or they bring an extra man doesn't really matter, provided that they get to him quickly. Cincy is in the bottom 20% of teams in the NFL getting pressure on QB's this year. Buffalo is #2 and Kansas City is #4. Miami is top-12. Bring the heat and drop the wood and they can come out of this game on top of the AFC East. -
John Rzeznik to sing the National anthem
Luxy312 replied to youngjebrey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He sings the national anthem once a year. Goo Goo Dolls are a local Buffalo product. I seriously doubt this has anything to do with Bon Jovi. -
Terry Pegula owning TWO sports team? Too much to handle?
Luxy312 replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Guys like Pegula delegate a TON. This will have no bearing on what he can "handle". Would anyone seriously think that adding another billion dollar land deal would make a difference to him? Why would adding ownership of the team. Same difference. He has guys to deal with the small (but important) stuff. -
Please tell me why Kyle Orton is not the long term answer ?
Luxy312 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even close. Orton has gotten to throw to the likes of Brandon Marshall, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, Miles Austin, etc. He's also sat behind some very solid offensive lines and STILL not really done a lot. Before the Bills, he had 2,265 passing attempts. That's a pretty good sample size to pretty much know what we're getting. This is his 10th season in the NFL as well. His "upside" if you want to even call it that has been played out already. -
Please tell me why Kyle Orton is not the long term answer ?
Luxy312 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Orton isn't the long term answer because he hasn't been the long term answer anywhere else. Let's not forget that he lost his starting job TWICE to Tim Tebow. His career completion percentage playing for stellar Chicago and Denver offenses was no better than EJ Manuel. Take a step back and actually look at the Lions game. They didn't win that game because of the offense. They won that game because the defense completely shut down the Lions. To boot, that 7 points for Detroit on the pick-6 could very well have been the ballgame. But for Dan Carpenters big leg, that game would have been yet another loss and yet another pitiful performance from the offense. If the Patriots come out and score 30+ points on this team, they will NOT win the game. -

Week 5 Predictions: Bills @ Lions
Luxy312 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's see. The Lions defense is 1st in the NFL in yards allowed and 4th in points allowed. Their offense is 23rd in points scored but 12th in yards earned. For the Bills, their defense is as good as it's been in 10 years. 7th in points and 10th in yards allowed. Their offense obviously has been pathetic at 25th in points scored and 27th in yards earned. When all is said and done, the Lions look like the better team on paper on both sides of the ball. I'll take the Lions at home by 7. 27-20. -
Orton's History Against the Lions (4-0)
Luxy312 replied to GrassValleyGreg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Twice, Orton lost his job as a starter to Tim Tebow. Color me doubtful that Orton will lead this team to victory on Sunday. -
Will Tom Brady be benched?
Luxy312 replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Patriots have the opposite problem that the Bills have. Buffalo has talented offensive players, but have a quarterback that can't get them the ball. The Patriots seem to let go of their best talent on both sides of the ball every year and yet were still able to win. I saw "WERE" still able to win. Now the lack of talent is costing them significantly. Their defense can't stop anyone and their offense can't score points. In terms of the OP question, no way Brady gets benched. Old hood-scrotum will keep him out there as long as his team has a chance to win. -
I guess you don't remember what Orton did with a loaded Bears team. Nothing. He was simply average. I can't imagine he's going to do much more than EJ has. I'll be surprised if he does, but I don't see it happening.
-
Benching EJ for Orton is a colossal mistake. First and foremost, they are basically saying that now, after less than 1 year of experience starting games, that EJ isn't their guy any more. There is ZERO doubt about it in my mind that this move is simply about Marrone being a good crony to Hackett, and keeping him around. This is going to leave this team in a terrible position for next year with either Orton as the starter OR EJ starting all over again with his development. To say that I'm disappointed is a huge understatement. Ridiculous.

Official 2nd half thread Bolts at Bills

They're going to need a touchdown on this series and a turnover resulting in a touchdown to be in the game today. -

Wind or no wind, make some adjustments. Rivers isn't appearing to have ANY difficulty with the wind. Throw it harder or throw it softer. Enough with the 1-2 yard dump offs under the coverage and just praying that someone makes something happen. Over half of their yards came from just two plays. That's just not acceptable. -
Defense pinned the ears back. Offense should have scored 50. Just saying!

I understand the Ray Rice guilt discussion has probably already been done to death. What I want to know is where DeMaurice Smith is in all of this. As far as I can tell, there's been nothing materially new that could be taken from the video that wasn't already admitted in written testimony of Rice. Given that they had already handed out a penalty, I would think DeMaurice Smith would be yelling at the top of his lungs that the league is overstepping its authority. Does anyone else find it interesting that his is silent on this subject? Not even a whimper.

When you hit Brady hard enough that his vagina rattles around, it really throws him/her off his/her game.

Bills have Tajh Boyd in town for a work out
Luxy312 replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So so many threads about other teams cast offs/rejects and "giving a shot" to guys that failed elsewhere. Personally, I just want our starters to stay healthy and perform at a high level. I don't want to have to rely on a Tuel or Boyd for wins. He struggled because he's as dumb as a rock. Also not a great characteristic for an NFL quarterback, backup or no. -
Did anybody watch Dolphins v Pats?
Luxy312 replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I'll say on the subject is that the Bears offense is a lot better than the Dolphins offense. If Buffalo was able to limit them to 20 points on the road, they should do just as well or better versus the Dolphins. I know he looked good against the Patriots, but Moreno is not half the running back that Matt Forte is and he really didn't get anything going against the Bills defense. At this point, I would be most worried about whether the Bills can contain Cameron Wake AND whether they can cover Mike Wallace. Beyond that, the Ralph is going to be rocking. God forbid Jim Kelly leads the team out onto the field as there would be pandemonium.
