  1. Over the last couple of days, I've seen a lot of suggestions for head coach. I don't think that Frank Reich would be a bad choice. He has no experience, but maybe going with a guy that has some history with this team, albeit not as a coach, would be good for the team and fans alike. I also don't mind Bill Cowher. Talk about a guy with experience and history! The title of this post says it all though. Why not Schwartz? Hasn't he earned something by taking a defense that was really good with Pettine and making it even better? Another idea here would be to make Schwartz the HC and bring in Reich as the OC. I'm just throwing out some ideas here, but a bit surprised that Schwartz hasn't even been part of the conversation.
  2. Marrone calling it a Bills "family" is like the proctologist putting their finger in your butt and saying it might "pinch" a little. No matter what words you use, the actions speak much louder than words. I rooted for Marrone, and now will root against him forever. Just being truthful.
  3. I'm disappointed at the coward that Marrone is, but at the same time am open to the idea of Shottenheimer. Doesn't strike me in a bad way at all. Keep Schwartz on D...hmmmm.....
  4. Have you WATCHED a Bears game this year????? WTF would we miss out on Trestman? He took what should have been a top-5 NFL offense and put it in the bottom tier of the NFL. Wow....just wow.....
  5. Well, if the roster were better than 9-7, then we would have been better than 9-7. The Bills wins came mostly against average teams and their losses came mostly against playoff teams. No team that they lost to was under 0.500 and all but two of the teams they beat were above 0.500. Coincidence? I don't think so. The Bills offense is the problem.
  6. Legitimate question? Really?? Stupid question! It's the type of question that you ask when you wonder where Thurman Thomas helmet was in the Superbowl. It doesn't mean anything at all. Why not ask people to be a little more cerebral with what's going on with this team? Why was our 2nd round pick not on the field? OK, so in the same vein, why WAS our 7th round pick actually on the field? You can see a lot by looking, or ask really stupid questions (like the OP did). It's just my opinion, but take it however you like.
  7. Nope. I would keep Freddy and make him happy. He's more of a face to this franchise than Marshawn "where's my Penis" Lynch will ever be.
  8. Yup, and an onsides kick away from not beating the Oilers. Same difference.
  9. OK, if that's what you need to do. So what exactly is your value added commentary? It's like revisiting the draft and saying that the Bills could have been better off not trading for Sammy Watkins and instead just drafting Beckham or Evans with their 9th pick. Kind of short-bus commentary. Duh.....we get it.
  10. I'm with this guy. You have to love how every year, we have some fans cherry picking the "could have been" plays, while ignoring the plays that actually happened. Sure, if the plays identified go the other way, the team makes the playoffs. Like you say though too, how many plays cut the other way? There's a lot that go both ways. It comes down to beating the teams that you should beat and having a chance against teams that should or are better than you. When I look at this season, I see two games the Bills probably shouldn't have won. Detroit on the road and Green Bay at home. These two teams are clearly better than the Bills. I don't count week 17 because the Patriots sat their starters for the most part. Even if you count it, that's 3 wins against teams above 0.500. Now when I look at the losses, there are only 2 teams with 0.500 or worse records. The Bills clearly should have beaten Oakland, but Miami was still a decent team. The combined record of their wins is 70-74. The combined record of their losses is 62-50. Very clearly to me, this team still needs to improve and I would say it's almost 100% on the offense. Cherry picking a couple plays really doesn't mean a lot to me.
  11. Why is this news? I'm not sure what the point really is here. He's out and others are not. Individual choice. Nothing more and nothing less.
  12. Home playoff game. My wife would not appreciate the first option at all.
  13. One off negative Nancy-ism. That's all this OP has given us with the post. Let's just not mention Seantrel Henderson, a 7th round pick playing more like a 2nd rounder. What about Kyle Williams, a pro-bowler, selected in the 5th round? What about Preston Brown, a starter and also just a 3rd round pick? Most of the roster is 1st and 2nd round picks, which I wouldn't have assumed would be the case, but to focus on one guy is myopic.
  14. No chance. If this team had an average to bad defense, maybe. Look, he went 9-7 in a year when he had a top-3 NFL defense and a below average offense. He gets most of his DST guys back next year. If I'm in his shoes, what's my motivation to opt out? Where do I go? His upside is improving on 9-7 and making the playoffs next year. I think the opposite in terms of whose hand has been forced. I think Orton was counseled into retirement. Best way to go for a 10 year NFL player.
  15. Get that man a contract!
  16. Yeh...let's draft the next Troy Smith or Terrelle Pryor. Better yet Joe Germaine or Craig Krenzel. LOL. If I'm being realistic, I would take Bryce Petty or Garrett Grayson in the 3rd before I would take Miller in the 7th. I would be hesitant to take Miller as a UFA.
  17. Yes. Look at their college career completion percentages, Bo Wallace 63.4% and over 60% every year. Braxton Miller 59.3% and only eclipsed 60% for the first time this last year at 63.5%. Y/A 8.1 for Wallace and 7.9 for Miller, so comparable there. Ratings both under 150, so comparable there as well. End of day, I don't really care. The NFL doesn't need another Terrelle Pryor. To boot as Yolo said, his injury is a complete unknown. Why would anyone take a shot at a below average college QB in the draft that isn't even healthy over someone comparable that is? Almost a rhetorical question.
  18. Why not do it again? We couldn't do it with Orton and he's a better QB than Sanchez. The D can't play much better than they have the last 2 years. Are either of these true: A - You are Mark Sanchez B - You have wood for the guy
  19. No. Passing accuracy isn't all that great for a college QB. If you're going to go that late in the draft, I would take Bo Wallace all day before him. Better accuracy, bigger arm, better legs.
  20. This. Let's cite the reality of his body of work. Rode the D to the playoffs, almost like Kyle Orton did this year.
  21. No. He shared reps with the first team with the other QB's. Orton was brought in later. It's just NOT what they did. They played the "crutch" game at quarterback despite their lip service that "EJ was their guy". Pretty pathetic.
  22. Depends on your definition of "vet". He's played 2 seasons. If your definition is more than 2 seasons, then yes. If not, no.
  23. While we're at it, might as well bring back Tarvaris Jackson. LOL.
  24. I would disagree with that 100%. I'd take Glennon all day over Sanchez and his 1+ turnovers per touchdown. I'd probably take Hoyer too and even Derek Anderson. Sanchez is trash.
  25. I don't think you do. This Bills team keeps bringing in journeyman to "compete". Forget competition. Give EJ all the reps with the first team. He either succeeds or fails. Splitting time with some middling QB that's failed with other teams is just that. You're wasting 50% of your reps/practice on someone that's not going to be your starter. I have no desire to see Orton/Cousins/Sanchez/Glennan/Bradford/Anderson/Clausen/Flynn/Gabbert/Campbell/Hoyer/Vick/Clemens/"Insert name here". Maybe that's just me. Regardless of how you convince yourself, none of them are an improvement over what we had this year.
