  1. Personally, I think the Bills front office is working on contract structure that will make it painful for the Dolphins to match. To boot, the Dolphins only have 5 days to match an offer being made. Strategically, it doesn't make sense for the Bills to rush anything. If I'm in the front office, I wait to see if Miami takes a shot at anyone else in free agency and make the offer to Clay as late as possible to allow for the highest chance of success.
  2. Dareus and Hughes were racing to see who could give back to the community first. OK....maybe that was a bit early.
  3. I'd put him in the hall of asterisks.. **won but cheated
  4. This just in. Tim Tebow is God awful in his workout for Phily and leaves without a contract. LOL.
  5. Dear Chip Kelly: HAHAHAHA.....LMAO.....ROFL. <------Everyone that's not a die hard Eagles fan.
  6. Dianna Marie Russini ‏@NBCdianna 26m26 minutes ago It's looking good in New England. Sources say it is "very likely" WR Stevie Johnson signs with The Patriots. Deal could get done today.
  7. As usual, looks like NE is going through their practice of finding their situational pass catcher. Diana Russini of NBC reports that Stevie Johnson is close to signing with the Patriots.
  8. I think it's just a label honestly. I think we will see Woods and Harvin taking turns playing in the slot and playing outside. All 3 of our top WR's are speedy guys. Should be fun to watch.
  9. 6.5 of the sacks from the front four came from situational linemen last year. That's nothing to sneeze at. Good signing by the front office here.
  10. Fixed it for you, but now it's correct.
  11. The crab legs in Chicago are terrible. Not even worth stealing!
  12. I agree with the OP. Whether people like it or not is irrelevant. They have 3 QB's on the roster right now. I don't know as though the likelihood of carrying 4 on the roster of 55 players is likely. Until the time that someone is cut, I think the talk of drafting a QB is very premature. I also don't think it's likely that it's going to be an "open" competition. There's only so many reps to go around in training camp and in preseason games. Cassel is going to get his chances. They didn't sign him to be a backup and his pressers support that. He expects to compete to start. Rex has said he's excited to see what EJ can do. Unless he's lying, he will get a chance to start as well. What I hope happens is that the team figures out who the starter is going to be as soon as possible, and that person gets as many reps as possible. That's the only way this team can be successful. Whether it's Manuel or Cassel, I don't really care. Setting some wild expectation that it's going to be someone else is just a waste of time.
  13. The Lions, Rams or Titans will be able to pay him more than the Bills will, so at the end of the day I'm not expecting anything to happen with him. One of those "nice thoughts if you're playing Madden", but just not connected to reality.
  14. I personally believe that EJ will win the starting job. I honestly don't care who actually wins it, but believe that he will understand that this is probably his last chance to prove that he's meant to be a starter in the NFL. Cassel is a journeyman, jumping from team to team to team, just like Orton did. He's pretty much a known commodity, which I think is why he's on the roster. Tyrod Taylor is fast, but I'll stop the discussion of him with that. He's been a backup because he's not accurate enough to be a threat throwing the football. If he starts, look for defenses to put 8 or 9 in the box and simply eliminate our running game. I.e. we didn't give Shady so much money to simply not give him the chance to be effective.
  15. This is exactly how I see it as well. I think the Bills have a genuine need and desire to sign Clay, but think now the Dolphins are trying to find a way to get something out of it. Definitely not playing checkers.
  16. I wonder this in a nutshell as well. Move himself down to get a starting job for the Eagles.
  17. Buscaglia: Report: Harvin to mull over whether he should even go on other visits. I don't know if that means he likes what he sees in Buffalo or if it means he's planning on staying put.
  18. Blast him for what? This happens multiple times every single year in the NFL. There is absolutely no requirement or even a guideline in the collective bargaining agreement suggesting a player has to take the most dollars.
  19. This is only news for one reason. Teams across the NFL are picking up backup quarterbacks with the potential to start. In most years, teams would look to the draft for such depth. This year, after those top two quarterbacks, there's not a lot of people projecting another QB to be taken before the 4th round because the value isn't there. If I'm any team in the NFL expecting to compete (which they all should be), I would be locking up the commodity that I know (like Thad Lewis) in lieu of potentially having to rely on the commodity that I don't. It's the reason why the Bills had Thad Lewis on the roster in 2013 and Kyle Orton on the roster last year. Makes sense.
  20. If this signing happens, I have almost no doubts that they will NOT be picking a quarterback in the draft. There's been a tremendous amount of scramble by teams already to secure backups that could lead a team if need be if they lose their starters. I think a lot of that stems from the quarterback class this year that when you look past Winston and Mariota, you see nothing but projects. There's 4 QB's on the roster right now, and I seriously doubt we'll be carrying 4 into the preseason. Even if they dropped Tuel and were left with Manuel, Cassel, and Taylor, I don't see them drafting yet another guy unless they outright dropped Manuel as well. That I see as even less likely.
  21. BM'd that site. Very funny stuff!
  22. His days of being a dominant player are over. Pass.
  23. Well done. I thought of the same thing. That guy sucked.
  24. I think he wanted to be an offensive linemen coach just so he doesn't have to keep score anymore. Pesky Wins/Losses.
  25. I agree with you 100% for that reason. I didn't want Ebron at all last year. So flipping that around, had we not traded for Watkins, we would be looking at Ebron last year and then the 3rd or 4th WR on the board this year with that first pick. You've convinced me even more that it was the right call.
