  1. think that was just posted the other day...still a good read
  2. If this Turner deal is going to happen it is in Buffalo's best interest to wait until draft day to get the best bargain for him. The longer Turner goes without a deal the less AJ Smith is going to get for him. If we wait too long and miss out...oh well, there is the draft and/or Chris Brown. Hang tight tip...dont kick the chair out from under yourself just yet.
  3. FWIW 17 is the legal age of consent in NY
  4. I tell you there is nothing like a new amp to get you all pumped about playing music. Glad you like it. No experience with EMGs...I just switch guitars
  5. WVU WR Brandon Myles. Myles (6-1, 189) ran his 40s in 4.41 and 4.44 seconds. He also recorded a 35 ½-inch vertical, a 10-foot-11 broad, a 4.31 short shuttle and a 6.98 three-cone drill. Houston RB Jackie Battle (6-2, 235 pounds) ran his 40s in 4.42 and 4.43. He also had a 41-inch vertical jump, 10-foot-11 long jump, 4.11 short shuttle, 6.51 three-cone drill and 19 bench presses. Kent State CB Usama Young (5-11, 196) ran the 40 in 4.39 and 4.40 seconds. He also notched a 43-inch vertical, a 10-foot-11 broad, a 4.31 short shuttle, a 6.65 three-cone drill and 15 bench presses
  6. I'll do it as long as we dont allow all kinds of rediculous trades like last year
  7. That video is like a train wreck...its awful, but you just can't seem to look away
  8. Yeah those numbers really hurt Hunt. I'm not sold on Pittman as an NFL runner just yet...just something about him I dont like. Combine Numbers for Brandon Jackson: 40: 4.54 Short Shuttle: 4.14 Bench:21 Broad:10'2" Vertical:37 3 Cone Drill: 7.00 Not bad numbers, he had 1200 combined yards from scrimmage and 10 TDs...8 on the ground. Versatile back...could fit in with our RB by committee plans for 2007
  9. I just listed him yesterday as a sleeper RB on my proday recap. From what I've read he's not had a lot of time as a starter in college and if I remember correctly Houston is a big passing offense so RB was not a priority. I'd like to see what this kid can do in the NFL...if he's got the ability in game like this scouting numbers show...could be a young Bettis with a little more speed
  10. combine numbers for Dwayne Wright Combine Results Combine Invite? Yes Height: 5114 Weight: 228 40 Yrd Dash: 4.66 20 Yrd Dash: 2.71 10 Yrd Dash: 1.62 Wonderlic: 225 Lb. Bench Reps: 14 Vertical Jump: 34 Broad Jump: 9'7" 20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.43 3-Cone Drill: 7.23
  11. Here are his pro day numbers Marcus Mason RB Mason (5-8 ½, 216) ran his 40s in 4.67 and 4.72. He also notched a 31 ½-inch vertical, a 9-foot-2 broad, a 4.71 short shuttle, a 7.53 three-cone drill and 22 bench presses. While his bench is pretty good, his 40 and shuttle times are a bit concerning that he won't match up at the next level of competition.
  12. Many pro sports franchises pay for their athletes to complete or continue their educations. I know for a fact the Braves minor league system players can take college courses and the Braves pay for everything. Its nice to know that that some players actually take advantage of those benefits.
  13. Just taking a look at some pro day results via NFL.com and found a few things to consider: Penn State: Tony Hunt RB : Hunt (6-1 5/8, 234) ran his 40s in 4.68 and 4.71. He also had a 31 ½-inch vertical jump, 9-foot-2 long jump, 4.72 short shuttle and a 7.39 three-cone drill. Ouch...what a bad 40 time on FieldTurf and indoors...the broad jump wasn't very impressive either, both results show a lack of burst and explosiveness Posluszny (6-1 ¼, 236) ran his 40s in 4.58 and 4.62. He looked good in all the drills. Also note that Steelers DC Dick LeBeau was in attendence along with Tom Coughlin Houston: Jackie Battle RB: Battle (6-2, 235 pounds) ran his 40s in 4.42 and 4.43. He also had a 41-inch vertical jump, 10-foot-11 long jump, 4.11 short shuttle, 6.51 three-cone drill and 19 bench presses. Showed size speed and explosiveness. Ran indoors on AstroTurf. Battle rushed for 943 yards and 15 TDs for the Cougars in 2006. Might be worth a look late on day 2 Mississippi: Patrick Willis LB: Willis (6-1, 237 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 and 4.38. He also had a 4.37 short shuttle and 7.10 three-cone drill. He stood on his numbers from the Combine for the rest. He had a phenomenal workout and clearly made several seven-figure increments in his rookie contract. Worked out inside on FieldTurf Virginia: Jason Snelling RB/FB: Snelling (5-11, 232) ran his 40s in 4.85 and 4.73 seconds. He also had a 9-foot-5 broad jump and 15 bench presses. Workout was outside on FieldTurf and 15-20 mph winds Pittsburgh: Darelle Revis CB: Revis (5-11 ¼, 196) ran the 40 in 4.41 and 4.39 seconds. He also notched a 38-inch vertical, a 10-foot-5 broad jump, a 4.08 short shuttle and a 6.56 three-cone drill. Sean Gilbert, a former first-round pick and 10-year NFL player, is his uncle. This workout made him some money, solidifying his status as a mid-first round pick. Workout was indoors on FieldTurf HB Blades LB: Blades (5-10 ½, 237) ran the 40 in 4.69 and 4.72 seconds. He also notched a 32-inch vertical, a 9-foot-5 broad jump, a 4.36 short shuttle and a 6.98 three-cone drill. His dad, Bennie, was the second overall pick in the draft (Lions). His uncle Brian played for the Seahawks. Michigan: 40s were done on an olympic track surface (very fast) indoors. Everything else was on Field Turf indoors Prescott Burgess ILB: Burgess (249 pounds), who participated in the Combine, ran his 40s in 4.77 and 4.85 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.45 and the three-cone drill in 7.34. He also had a 31-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-2 broad jump. Alan Branch DT Branch (6-5¾, 328) ran the short shuttle in 4.79 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.56. Kansas City defensive line coach Tim Krumrie worked Branch hard during the position drills, and the scouts there said Branch did not look like he was in very good shape. (read this interview with Branch http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft07/news/story?id=2810691) Florida State: Worked out outdoors on FieldTurf in good conditions Lawrence Timmons LB Timmons (6-0¾, 233) ran his 40s in 4.63 and 4.71 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.34 and stood on everything else he did at the NFL Scouting Combine. Buster Davis LB Davis (5-9¼, 242) ran his 40s in 4.74 and 4.75 seconds, had 11 bench presses and stood on everything else he did at the NFL Scouting Combine. Virginia Tech: Worked out outdoors on AstroTurf Aaron Rouse S/LB Rouse (6-3¾, 219 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 and 4.56. He also had 10-foot-1 long jump, 4.19 short shuttle and 6.81 three-cone drill. He didn't do the vertical jump, standing on his numbers from the Combine. Maryland: Indoors on Astroturf David Holloway LB Holloway (6-1 5/8, 229 pounds) ran his 40s in 4.72 and 4.78. He also had a 37-inch vertical jump, 9-foot-9 long jump, 4.25 short shuttle, 7.13 three-cone drill and 32 bench presses. Josh Wilson CB Wilson (188 pounds) ran the short shuttle in 4.28. He stood on his numbers from the Combine for the rest. Michigan State: Indoors FieldTurf Dave Herron LB/FB Herron (6-1, 239), ran his 40s in 4.68 and 4.67 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.42 and the three-cone drill in 7.03. He also had a 34½-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-2 broad jump and 19 bench presses. He performed drills at both positions and caught the ball well. In high school, Herron was Maurice Clarett's blocking back. West Virginia: Indoors FieldTurf Dan Mozes C Mozes (295) notched a 26 ½-inch vertical jump, a 4.64 short shuttle, a 7.67 three-cone drill and 29 bench presses. He stood on the rest of his Combine numbers. Brandon Myles WR Myles (6-1, 189) ran his 40s in 4.41 and 4.44 seconds. He also recorded a 35 ½-inch vertical, a 10-foot-11 broad, a 4.31 short shuttle and a 6.98 three-cone drill. Combine snub. Tons of potential as a playmaker at WR and KR. Was under-utilized in WVU's rushing first offense. Needs to work on his route running and decision making. Great late day 2 steal.
  14. Absolutely a great flick. Cheadle and Sandler are amazing. AS shows he really can do more than just comedy. However, he does have his moments...parts that really shouldn't have been funny made me laugh. But all and all it was the best movie I've seen since We Are Marshall. Go check it out. Synopsis:When a man who has failed to recover from the grief of losing his family in the tragedy of September 11, 2001 (Adam Sandler) has a chance run in with an old college roommate who has since become a doctor (Don Cheadle), the painful healing process slowly begins.
  15. Make sure you come back here and let us know how that thing cranks.
  16. What nights??? and do you need a goalie? I might be interested if it doesnt interfere with my abnormal work schedule
  17. Because all players who dominate the CFL will have equal success in the NFL...just look at Doug Flutie and all the championships he brought to his NFL teams
  18. I still don't see the point in bringing in a running back who hasnt been healthy in 2 seasons and just suffered another setback on the road to recovery from knee surgery. On the cheap or not, at this point he's not worth a roster spot.
  19. According to the article he just suffered another setback in recovering from knee surgery
  20. Wow didn't see this coming http://www.houstontexans.com/news/detail.php?PRKey=3377
