Just think, Buffalo - Toronto

this could be an amazing idea...let alone the ticket sales between the rival Sabres and Leafs, which are nearly always sellouts at both arena, but the sponsorship and television opportunities for an event like this are nearly endless. Could you imagine the type of crowd and hype this event could garner if the game had serious playoff implications? The NHL, Sabres and Leafs would be foolish not to seriously consider this, especially with the NHL attempting to recover from a labor strike. Heck, if the game at the Ralph went well, who is to say the game next year couldn't be held at the Skydome? If this event is coordinated correctly and the fans really embrace it, we could be looking at the birth of the NHL's version of the Backyard Brawl. -
Hey guys, just got back...looks like I didnt miss too much. Curacao is great, best island in the caribbean by far. I'll get some pictures up sometime this week. On a side note...dutch girls rock

Brandon Jones stats from 05: CAR YDS YPC LONG TD 43 230 5.3 18 2 REC YDS YPR LONG TD 7 66 9.4 33 0 not bad for a FB in a spread offense
-
Me either, I'm not looking for my FB to catch 80 bombs or break 95 yard runs. I'm looking for the guy that can get that extra yard that makes a difference in us punting or putting points on the board. We lacked that since Gash and Centers left and its a part of our offense we need to find again.

No thanks, he's already had some

Here's a few names to check out and keep an eye on: Matt Bernstein FB | (6'0", 267, 4.91) | WISCONSIN Lack of speed might be an issue, but he's a tough runner and a solid pass blocker Lawrence Vickers FB | (6'0", 233, 4.76) | COLORADO Lacks ideal size, but has the frame to add another 15 lbs. Good pass catcher JD Runnels FB | (5'11", 237, 4.65) | OKLAHOMA Same deal as Vickers Rashon Powers-Neal FB | (6'2", 236, 4.8) | NOTRE DAME Little slow, not a great receiver, but a good tweener back Shawn Willis FB | (6'1", 276, 4.75) | OKLAHOMA STATE Ok size and speed, not much of a receiver...Carwell Gardner-esque Steven Jackson FB | (6'0", 255, 4.6) | CLEMSON no scouting report available, but can't be too overwhelming because clemson doesnt use FB very often in their offense Brandon Jones FB | (5'10", 240, 4.65) | PURDUE Great short yardage guy, ok hands. Lacks elusiveness as a runner and isnt a big play threat out of the backfield as a receiver. However, i think he might just be what we are looking for in a 7th rd pick or udfa Chad Henley FB | (6'1", 250, 4.65) | NEVADA LAS VEGAS no scouting report available Derrick Ross RB | (5'10", 242, 4.66) | TARLETON STATE (Div 2) Unpolished, good UDFA, possible diamond in the rough. Not the brightest guy in the world, probably why he's D2. Might not stand up to NFL caliber players. Worth a look in camp I'll be digging deeper when I get back from Curacao on the 12th. Its about that time of year that I become completely obessed with the draft and FA
-
Cedric Humes from VT isnt bad. That really is a sad thing to see the FB disappear like cheesy poofs on 4:20 William Henderson is a FA this year, though I doubt he'd think about leaving GB I'd love to see him in our backfield. I don't we need need 2 guys, I think you can get away with one if you find the right guy. I'm going to spend some time later on looking through college prospects and see if I can't find someone in this years draft class. Otherwise, keep an eye on players coming out in the next 2 season like Helm'dollar in Boise state and Brian Leonard at Rutgers.

Like dean said...unless we are planning getting both of them 25 carries a game they'll be useless together. If there is any type of back we should grab in this draft is a power back in the mold of Alstott that can score inside the 5
-
Only reason DW was at 4 was he was the best athlete on the board and the Jets need someone to replace CM. I'm not convinced their OL is their main offensive problem as injuries to skill positions are 2003 at the end of round one and you place a draft recap list so its easier to read who has been picked?
-
Hovan is serious about staying in TB last I knew, but man if we had a chance for him I'd take it... He'd definately be a help to the pass rush...then we rotate edwards, fat sam and anderson in an out

Satire to most people on this board means: "Satire over there that keeps going flat."

Brodie Croyle in the first...maybe, but no Omar Jacobs, especially after the year he had. He should have stayed put for one more year. Its scary how much Jacobs reminds me of Josh Harris, predecessor at BGSU. I really liked Harris in 04 as a late 1st day early second day pick. However, Harris was one of those QBs from the MAC that was going to shock the world...and fell flat on his face so far. Croyle on the otherhand, hasnt quite been getting the press he deserves and will make a team a very nice second round pick. His numbers this year would have been much better if his playmaker WR wasnt injured early on in the season. Whitehurst was a complete stretch, especially with Boller finally emerging at the QB position at the end of the season. While Boller can only benefit from having a QB pressure him to keep the starting role, WR may have been a more glaring need for the Ravens in the first round.

Going to restuarant for a quiet meal.....

where's this place??? I'd be glad to do it for 50 bucks -
agreed, this is definately a "Mock" Draft. Seriously guys, does anyone here expect SD to trade LT for Reggie Bush? Or Half of Phillys old offensive players to the Aints for a what little talent they have left? Cmon you're sapping the fun out of this

Count down to family court
WVUFootball29 replied to MelissaInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can enlist at 17 with parental consent and you do need to graduate highschool to enlist except in rare circumstances. Melissa, you are right, it might hurt, but maybe this new school is going to be best for him. Best wishes to both of you...stay strong. -
With the 4th pick in the 2006 draft, New York Jets will select, Running Back from Memphis DeAngelo Williams sorry was busy today...

Exactly Obie. My choices for Qb in 04 ranked as follows: Roethlisberger, Schaub, Losman, Frye, Harris Schaub is a solid QB and I thought he would have been great learning under Bledsoe. (here come the Bledsoe haters) That said, the Bills would be fools to partake in that trade this year. Quit blaming QB for the poor performance of this offense. The whole team stinks, the play calling stunk, WM looked like he was half assing it, the OL was non existant 80% of the time, and no one was on the same page at any point last year. Changing QBs is only going to further the problem. If we didnt waste 2 first round picks on JP, I would say go ahead and make the trade, but we have too much invested in JP to give up after 8 games.
