  1. Nope. But my wife has been in tears watching the news and the suffering of so many people. I’m sure the LA officials have more to deal with than worrying about whether a game gets played there.
  2. Yes, and that can all change in the blink of an eye, as I’m sure you have experienced. I’m surprised you are so dismissive of the situation relative to the game considering your experience.
  3. Sorry to hear that. I imagine the availability of emergency response crews also plays into the decision whether to move the game. Watching the news feed of the fires and devastation is heartbreaking.
  4. I’m sure the NFL and local authorities will take your input into consideration.
  5. “Ok kids, we’re going to watch this football game and let’s see which team God likes best”.
  6. SOFI is open-air. It’s covered but not enclosed from the air, smoke, etc. Watching KCAL coverage is distressing; even the reporters were getting emotional walking through the neighborhoods.
  7. Honestly, where else is a guy like that going to earn a living for his family? He’s got a plum job working the Bills sidelines and has to talk for a couple hours a day on the radio. I don’t know how much he makes, but it’s obviously a better gig than what Dunne and the podcasters have to do to make a living.
  8. Beane looking at Gray like a lion looks at a wounded gazelle
  9. It’s amazing to see how far offshore the smoke from those fires is going - hundreds of miles.
  10. Thanks to Aaron Maybin, we now have Josh Allen.
  11. Pegula is not a reactive guy, especially since his wife became ill. Under the circumstances of his personal life and a new stadium to deal with, I can’t see Pegula making changes in the Bills organization. The 17-year drought and history of incompetence also works in McDermott’s favor and will buy him considerable slack.
  12. I only hear “turnover battle” and never “takeaway battle”. 😝
  13. Has he wrapped his truck in Gang Green yet?
  14. Agree. It also forces the offense to play perfectly while the defense is giving up yards and points until the turnovers come.
  15. I just subscribed again to read the current interview article. I appreciated that they addressed the past right at the top, with Dunne’s opening comments and McDermott’s response: “Our conversation is below. Dunne: Tell somebody on the outside that we’re sitting down like this, and they’d expect a cage match one year ago. The fact that we got to know each other (last offseason), I’ve been around the team this year, it says a lot about you. … I think there’s a natural impulse for anybody —coach or player — when something critical is written to go on the offensive. Declare it all “lies.” Outside looking in, it seems like you’ve been reflective. Your press conference in the moment was heartfelt. We sat down. How do you think you’ve evolved as a person and as a coach this past year? McDermott: This to me should not be a story of, “Well, he was this and now he’s this” because of an article. And I’m not going to revisit the story. Enough was said about that. I know who I am and I know how I’ve tried to lead this organization. Does that make me perfect? Absolutely not. So we can get on living or we can get on dying, and I feel strongly that, “OK, let’s make a connection so you can see who I really am and you can make your own judgments from there.” But the most important thing for me in my job is I know what everyone wants me to do and that’s to win a Super Bowl. And that is the most important thing for me. Second though, it’s trying to do this job the right way. Probably how you try to do your job for your family and do it the right way. Last year or the years prior, my standard is my standard. And do I hold a high standard? Yes. But it starts with me. And when we lose, it’s really hard because I hold myself to a high standard. We’ve accomplished a whole heck of a lot here. I was reminded of the 2017 accomplishment last night and again this morning at the press conference. And that was just the start of what we’ve done since we’ve gotten here. And I think just then professionally and personally you grow year to year, and that’s what’s led me to where I’m at now. You grow as a man. I grow as a man. Which also then helps me grow as a professional. But then you grow professionally as well because of the time you spend on the job.” Looking forward to the rest…..
  16. But as I’ve been shown, statistically the Bills are near the top of the league every year in turnovers forced. It’s their plan. When it works, they usually win, often by a lot. But when the turnovers aren’t there, or the offense turns it over more, they get run over. The Bills are somehow making it work by consistently forcing turnovers. I guess it’s one way to make up for a lack of playmakers on defense.
  17. Can’t wait to see where this is going…
  18. Some guy just got fired and they were going through his PC “Oh! Here are those renderings we were looking for in March!”
  19. Dick had to be the most boring guy in the NFL. I’ve heard McDermott use it too. Waiting for him to use the ol’ “took the sails out of our wind”.
  20. But a GREAT porn name.
  21. Haven’t you heard? It’s hard to win in the NFL.
  22. The 80 and 81 offenses were so much fun to watch. Lewis and Butler outside; Lou Piccone running inside routes, Brammer at TE and Cribbs in the backfield. Great defense too. This book recaptures the 1980 season in detail: https://www.amazon.com/Talking-Proud-Rediscovering-Magical-Buffalo/dp/0991262204/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2US77YDXGTFZG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.hBB2rK4rX1w2nmr8Av5GRWxLVgtWtsrA3BkdzLfUlliZU1E6dIZ66KCzKHrWhh36TaOzCNKJiz8ZL4XV1eJjC640wDyL7OZni8ZzxgEeUO4.XMFFH3zZTIU5qn4kCmbzdbbizzfvIpoc75jKeh7J_MU&dib_tag=se&keywords=1980+buffalo+bills+talking+proud&qid=1736272980&sprefix=1980+buffalo+bills+talking+proud%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-1
  23. “We’re going to get that third round pick value out of you even if it kills you!”
  24. Strength of schedule is one thing, but I thought the Broncos had a dismal record against winning or playoff teams?
