John Bongiovi interested in buying the Bills
WotAGuy replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did she mention anything about me winning the lottery? I'm starting to get impatient. -
sour Pez - they come in packs of 6 (at Cracker Barrel) and I can't eat anything less than all 6 in a sitting. Now and Laters - Wegmans has them in bulk and I overdose on those too. Chewy Spree Dark salted chocolate (85% cacao) - hard to find, but it's awesome when it's available.

Quick look at stats for both suggest Moorman has been better in most categories, over about same number of games and kicks: Powell = 19 returns for 14.73 yd average, 1 TD, 1 inside the 10 yd line, 5 TB and 5 FC. Powell's average is about 6 yards more.. Moorman = 12 returns for 11.25 yds, 0 TD, 3 inside 10 yd line, 3 TB and 9 FC. Both have 10 kicks iunside the 20. The Cleveland game sealed Powell's fate. Moorman has done pretty much what they needed, which is to stabilize the return defense game. Clearly, his time here is over after this season, in my opinion.

Ever want to see every pass play the Bills ran in a game?
WotAGuy replied to jonramz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I opened the page with the diagrams, there was an ad at the bottom for heroin addiction treatment. Hope that was just a coincidence, because the first thing I thought when I saw all those diagrams was "Man, you'd have to be on drugs to watch film of that Steelers game that closely" Seriously, great job and thanks for sharing your hard work. -
This may have already been posted, but for those who missed it, a nice little homage to Stevie in SI's 11/4/13 issue.... http://si.com/vault/...08986/index.htm

Digging Deep - why do you remain a fan of this franchise?
WotAGuy replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember being 6 or 7 and running into the living room and asking my Dad whether the Bills were the white or dark jersies (B&W TV, remember?), and then taking a sip off his bottle of Schmidt's. I blame it on that - along with all the other problems in my life. -
Alternative (to Hammer) parking options

Be careful about discussing alternatives to Hammer's - it could get you banned! -
49ers LB Aldon Smith arrested for DUI...and more
WotAGuy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aldon Smith charged with assault weapon possession The charges arose from a June 29, 2012, house party hosted by Smith at his home in the San Jose, Calif., area. Here is how the Santa Clara Office of the District Attorney described what happened: The party included a $10 entrance fee. Gang members arrived, paid the fee and eventually a confrontation happened. First, someone fired a handgun into Smith's garage. Smith then fired a handgun from his balcony to dissipate the crowd. A friend of Smith later fired the same gun in the air several times. Ultimately, two people were shot by an "unknown party guest," prosecutors said, and Smith was stabbed. Gee...you'd think that $10 entrance fee would have kept out the riff-raff. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000259850/article/aldon-smith-charged-with-assault-weapon-possession -
Owners pass 'Hard Knocks' rule at NFL Fall Meeting "A source in the room told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport the league passed a rule Tuesday during the NFL Fall Meeting that will compel one team per year to participate in the HBO/NFL Films joint venture, "Hard Knocks."" This is great news for me as a fan of the show, and the criteria for selection makes the Bills a viable candidate..... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000259014/article/owners-pass-hard-knocks-rule-at-nfl-fall-meeting

So does Byrd play on sunday or not?
WotAGuy replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He may end up doing that anyway....and it would put a crimp in his trade plans. -
When I read the thread and then saw the headline: Buffalo Bills partner ‘lifestyle brand’ I thought "Hey - the Jills have their own official condom!

So does Byrd play on sunday or not?
WotAGuy replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wonder if the Bills could just put him on IR? If he is going to play "boo-boo foot", why mess around with the distraction and call his bluff? -
This thread reminds me of that South Park episode where the smug hybrid drivers go around smelling their own farts

This cracked me up, because I'm 54 and my Dad passed in 1975 after passing on the horrible addiction to the Bills (j/k). But I definitely have stronger, more vivid memories of games from 1968 and 1969 than I do the last few seasons. Even though the Bills sucked back then too, as a kid of 9-10 years old, those games are burned into my hard drive. !968 is still my favorite Bills sdeason because it was the first season that I was fully conscious of them, and followed every game and every play and have a scrap book to prove it.

LB Nigel Bradham Charged with Majijuana Possesion
WotAGuy replied to brucethomas34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clever placement: I love that on the TBD home page the article link immediately beneath the link about Bradham getting charged with marijuana possession says: Manuel injury blunts Bills' fans' delight [11:02 AM] Don't see "blunts" in a headline too often! -
At a 12-step retreat last spring, I found out about something called the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. It is a 30-week retreat to bring us closer to God and be more spiritual. We met as a group of 8 participants every week, led by 4 prayer guides and a Jesuit priest. We were given scripture readings to pray and meditate on each day. The goal was to work up to one hour of continuous prayer/meditation each day. It took me about a month to work up to an hour each day, and even though the Exercises ended in May, I continue to do my hour of prayer and meditation each day now. I break it into 20-minute segments that I track by playing timed meditation music or nature sounds followed by a Tibetan gong sound to end the segment. The first 20 minutes is spent focusing on all the things in my life that I am grateful for - and thanking God for giving me those blessings. The second 20 minutes is reading through the Divine Office and some "Bible in One Year" websites and finding several one or two-line verses that strike me as particularly meaningful that day. The third 20 minutes is spent meditating on those passages, how they relate to me and how they can be put to use in my life. This process has done so much to improve my serenity and faith! The time spent focusing on gratitude helps keep me grounded and aware that I am not responsible for anything in my life - it all comes from a power greater than me. The time spent reading scripture has given me a daily dose of guidance that I really need in my life. And the time spent focusing on that guidance helps me to see where I am and where I'm going in life on a daily basis. I'm 54, was raised Catholic, and have practiced it almost all my life. But I have never really felt close to God, and stopped going to Mass a year or so before I started the Exercises. I need a belief in a Higher Power, who I choose to call God, and this process has given me a personal relationship with God for the first time in my life. I have found developing faith requires me to practice it on a daily basis. I do my prayer and meditation in solitude, but with a great deal of awareness and interactive thought. It's been rewarding and comforting.....a truly awesome experience.

I think you are missing the correct definition of an opinion (Dictionary.com): o·pin·ion [uh-pin-yuhn] noun 1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. 2. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal. I assume Jerry is on GR to promote discussion. Based on this thread alone, he's been successful!

Your stress "excuse" just makes your actions that much more disturbing. Who, other than a sex addict or a drunk maybe, has sex with someone where there is no physical or sexual attraction? It was "just a break"?? It sounds like you might be rationalizing and not looking at what's really going on with you. When a man loves a woman, the man doesn't go mindlessly bang another chick when his partner is struggling with fertility issues and is at her most vulnerable. Maybe you were put off by all the fertility stuff, and it took all the "excitement" out of "sex", and you wanted some sexual excitement, perhaps? We're guys and we are wired that way. But if you'll do that to your partner when she is at her most vulnerable, do her a favor and put the relationship on hold until you sort out the underlying issues you may have. I write this out of concern for all involved, not to make you feel bad. I just think you are blowing off the real issue that has reared it's head, and hope you can address it.

I am empathetic, as someone who made many such mistakes in my marriage that caused incredible pain and harm to both sides. But from that experience I also have a question - if you are so in love with your partner of 8 years, as you describe, why would you act out in that fashion? There's something wrong with that picture, and before you commit to making amends and proclaiming your everlasting dedication to her after all this....you might want to figure out why you put yourself in this position in the first place. Trust me, I had to make these analyses and decisons myself, and I found it was impossible to have a healthy, loving, caring relationship until I sorted through my schitt. As others have pointed out, there are higher priority issues to address, but keep that question in mind. Your responsibility to the child and the child's mother needs to be addressed first and foremost. Legal advice is imperative so you know where you stand, and what your legal responsibilities are. If you have a faith, consult someone you trust to talk about your moral responsibilities dictated by your faith. You cannot make your partner feel any better about this, no matter what you say or do. The best thing you can do for her is to get your emotional house in order and figure out if your professed love for her is real or not. If she is willing to stay with you, you should make up your mind sooner than her about whether you want and can continue to be with her. Otherwise, let her go and find someone who can love her the way she needs to be loved. You have a great deal of courage to fess up to all this to family, friends and your anonymous family here. That honesty will serve you well as you move forward. God bless you!
