Trying to predict results this week is going to be tough, so I’m staying away. The Bills, Commanders, Lions and Bengals were good to me this past year; Cinci brought home 11-leg and 6-leg SGPs last week, so gonna quit while I’m ahead. However, the Lions game this week may be worth going all in on. Should be a playoff-caliber game.

I listed KC because they had a lot of key player injuries throughout the year. The point is injuries happen to many teams at inopportune times and I don’t think the Bills are an anomaly in that regard.

Look around the league and see the injury situations throughout the season. The Bills have nothing to complain about when you look at Detroit, San Francisco, KC, etc.

Maye has played in 12 games. One more game of experience is worth far less than the No 1 pick in the draft. The fact the Pats are considering sitting him confirms this.

I think the Pats will play starters a fair amount with Jacoby starting in place of Maye.

This game will be interesting because I think McD will want to see the backups playing hard and they will relish the chance to play and be motivated to win. The Pats on the other hand, are caught in the quandary of wanting to lose but not make it look obvious. Old timers may remember it came down to the Bills and Eagles vying for the No 1 pick (OJ Simpson), and the Eagles inexplicably won a final game and had to settle for drafting Leroy Keyes at No 2.

Elam will be interesting. He was inactive this past game. I think he screwed up his chance to stay out of McD’s doghouse. They will probably play him Sunday but only after all other CBs have their game.

Call up Gore and run wildcat every play after Allen gets the start.

1974 Colts at Bills. There was a snow squall during the game and wind that made it miserable, except my buddy’s Dad set him up with a wine skin with homemade hard cider. It was more like whisky. We were 15 and he got shltfaced. My Dad was just wearing a dress overcoat and was freezing the whole time. Bills won 6-0. There was a 2001(?) final home game against the Pats that started in the 50s that morning but ended up a blizzard in the second half. It was surreal and went to OT. Bills lost with Flutie as QB. Finally, the “original” wind game against the Pats in mid 2000s. The wind blew over a Bills souvenir trailer in the parking lot and they had to re-level the goalposts during the game.

Rapp’s positive plays unquestionably more than make up for some friendly fire accidents. Even Mahomes put a teammate out for the year. Stuff happens.
