This line of reasoning continues to baffle me. Show me one post from yesterday or today that pins this loss completely on Reed. I have read many that say he did not have a good day, which he did not. Just because he was not the worst offender, doesn't make me content with his play. The defense sucked in every position, and we had no chance of winning that game, but Josh Reed is still not getting it done and I don't like it.
We are dealing with the fragile psyche of a young qb, and it seemed that the Reed drops did take the air out of JP's baloon. I haven't read a post that tried to pin the loss on Reed, but a true evaluation of his play is that he did not have his best game, and often drops passed on huge plays. I thought wr's in the NFL got paid big money because the possess a skill for making difficult plays. Reed is not a starting caliber receiver. I do think his two early drops changed the feel of the game. That being said, there is no way we were gonna get a w today. Boarding the plane to leave Buffalo insured a loss.
I meant to attach a reply to my previous post.
Focus on the lines. If we draft a rb, qb or a wide reciever I'm gonna go ballistic!
A linebacing corps with Spikes and Crowell sounds good to me.
We need a young big beefy d-lineman, and pretty much a whole new o-line.
To me JP looks a lot more relaxed, and confident. He seems to be making decisions much more quickly (good thing with this o-line) and his accuracy was greatly improved. I think he was throwing before to avoid being intercepted, hence alot of balls long and out of bounds, now he just appears to be throwing to the receivers. I think he studied too hard, and wanted too much to ba an immediate sucess. Now he is settling down and the pressure is off a little. The possible emergence of a bonifide NFL QB is the one shred of hope I am clinging to for this season.
I'm all for keeping Clements at a reasonable price, but would not be willing to get into a bidding war. Today is a hard day to try and defend the "lock down corner" Deion Sanders in his prime was a lock down corner. He played for some awful Atlanta teams, and opponents did not want to throw a ball his way. Clements stunk today.
Halftime observations:
This defense is a joke. We should let our "lock down corner" go to the highest bidder. Me guess is that the potential bids are getting lower.
Josh Reed sure knows how to take the air out of the baloon early. Really set the tone for the offense.
Why is Parrish returning for all of the kickoffs?
The only bright spot is Losman's development seems to be continuing, perhaps with an offensive line this guy could really get it done.
Wow, this far into the thread and no mention of "In Diana Jones". Was that a real movie?
I don't watch porn.
No really, I don't watch porn.
stop laughing at me.
J.P. does kinda look like Adam Sandler in The Waterboy.
NUUUUUUUUR, I'm J.P. Losman, I got a big wooden spoon!!!!
Water sucks, It really, really sucks!
Gatorade, Gatorade
(maybe that will get him going, if not...)
J.P., your momma is fat and ugly.
I don't know, at first I thought it looked stupid, but then the voices in my head said it was absolutely fantastic. The voices in my head have started talking slower than they used to, and don't seem to be very good readers either.
Yeah, until the bubble burst, and Bruschi blew the 16 year old off on the way to the locker room.
The more I think of it, If I were Bruschi, I would call ESPN and demand a public apology.
I sent my message. Everybody I talked to about the game today still could taste the vomit in the back of their throats from "True NFL Story: TedyBruschi". Didn't I read somewhere that NBC is going to be taking over the rights to Sunday Night? Please, make it so!
