NFL Week #18 - Patriots* @ Bills - 2nd half game thread
phypon replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
ugh...#3 seed here we come. Wait, what??? Smoke. :-P -
I look at it this way. A player literally died on the field. Heart stopped, stopped breathing... Thankfully, he survived. Whatever the seeding becomes, who cares. Football is back and everyone gets to watch and play if they so choose to. The seeding is a small price to pay considering what happened on that day. Now is the time to use the cliche "man up". It is what it is, go play the game and win, don't sweat the small stuff. If the worst case with Damar occurred no one would be second guessing the seeding.
-
If that's what the Bills decide (and I think they will), Taylor shouldn't stand up and go against what the Bills want to do. This is up to the Bills. Taylor accepting that would be a sign of respect for the Bills and Damar. If that is the Bills wishes, Taylor will accept that. That's the proper way to handle that scenario imo.

It crossed my mind which coaches may have put their team back on the field. Not going to name any, because I don't know. There are a couple that I wonder if they would have done what McD and Taylor did though. As far as McD, I've def criticized him, but he is a class act. A really good man. I don't think I will be criticizing him so much anymore after this. He's our coach.

Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.

I think this is essentially the best way. Outside of this, Bills forfeit the Cinci game, do the best they can with the backups against NE and use the NE game as a bye for the starters for physical rest/ailments and proceed from there. -

Yeah, I think you're right about that. It's a sticky line for sure. -

The Bills forfeit this game. Probably this coming weekend's game as well. That gives the players time. They become the #3 seed. Clearly, life is more important than the game. This scenario gives the players time to mentally and physically rest and do their best to regroup for the playoffs. This gives them the bye week they would have had if being the #1 seed and if they win and things play out in their favor they can still have at least another home game. -

I feel bad for bronco fans, they deserve better. Such a brutal team to watch. -

Or a beer. I would be furious!! -
This is awesome news. No hardware needed (maybe a firestick if you don't have a smart TV). No hardware rental fees. One thing with DTV, a lot of areas you needed a dish as you wouldn't be approved for just the streaming service in certain areas and they required you to have a dish (happened to me this year actually). Who knows if they will require you to be a YTTV subscriber, they may offer it as a separate service. Who knows yet what their pricing will be. They could do tiers. X amount of games per week for X amount of price and then offer a full package price. Also, YTTV is a great TV service which allows for local channels in most places. It's cheaper than cable and no extra hardware needed. As for a few seconds of delay time, really? Most services outside of an antenna have a delay of some sort. I don't mind being 30 seconds behind real time. Are we really that hell bent on a fractional time differential? YTTV allows for unlimited DVR'ing. If they allow DVR'ing for the games that's also a huge value added service. This seems like a huge win for football fans. Of course, we'll have to see the pricing, but there seems to be a lot more upside over DTV just with this announcement.

Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left
phypon replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was def the right call. I'm more surprised about two things. 1. Surprised the Dolphins didn't try to let the Bills score intentionally with more time on the clock. 2. I'm really surprised the Dolphins fans didn't try throwing snowballs all game to cost the Bills a penalty. As soon as they made the potential penalty announcement, that's all I could thing about; phins fans causing a penalty. -
I'm not targeting you in my reply, so please don't take it that way. I never want to hear that a "D" was gassed ever again. After that Miami game this year, what did we hear? Oh, the "O" was gassed because they were out there too long. Eric Wood said this on wgr. Well, Miami's D didn't look gassed. Like seriously, now the "O" is gassed? I've had enough of the gassed stuff, I've heard it all now about the O being gassed. Don't be gassy people. Stay classy, not gassy.
