When I watched the video, I was most concerned with his actions because the other two cops did not seem at all concerned with the women video taping their actions. They definately didn't feel threatened by her. I'm not surprised that the charges are being dropped, no good DA is going to go forward with a case they can't possibly win. Anyways, what else is going on in the world???

I'm 50 / 50 on this one. Cop clearly could have done it different, and the other two cops clearly didn't care that she was taping them. Other hand, I wouldn't want her standing behind me either (although, I didn't really see that she was behind the cop who seemed to have a big problem with it). Traffic stops are inherently dangerous, so I give a bit to the cops, but for me the worst part is the other two cops that clearly didn't care that she was filming. It is tough being a cop, but this guy should have made better decisions. Actually, they both should have made better decisions. Legally, he may be totally within the law I don't know. I would have never done this when I was a uniformed cop.

So that makes it bad? I prefer to think it's an oldie but a goodie......

Thats not a bad deal, but my problem with SouthWest has never been about price. My problem is when they have the smallest delay it usually results in missed connections (which you can't make up with later flights), or cancelled flights. Their lack of direct flights (unless you are flying to Chicago (Midway) or Baltimore) almost alway results in problems. This is just my opinion of course, but I usually am willing to pay $40 - $80 more if it puts me on one of the major airlines (not including US Airwaste). That is all......

This was a city rule, made by the City administration. I don't believe that the PD supported the decision for the city to keep the money. If you read the article, any turned in monies would go into the city's general fund. Some people want to blame the cops for everything.

As far as I can tell, she must have been a temp employee on a (up to) appointment, or a truly seasonal appointment (1080 hours). I have not seen a thing about federal employees getting laid off. RIF's in the federal service are extremely complicated and rarely happen. I agree, no federal employees are getting laid off anytime soon.

This is the only reason we haven't completely dumped them and put all the billions we give them into India.

Glad I did a search before creating my post of the exact same topic. What a crappy idea by the City of Dallas as a way to increase thier coffers. Why would the city believe that they could keep money that didn't belong to them? If the girl found the money, and no one claimed it, its hers. She was the last legal owner. People should be up in arms over this. What a cheap shot. So much for encouraging people to do the right thing and turn in something they found.
