(LAMP)Any electric bass players here
Dennis in NC replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Garage" is OK, but "cover band" is bad? Sorry, but who the hell wants to hear a bunch of songs written by 14-year-olds??? Augh! Most bass players play with their fingers, maybe a pick for some songs, IMO. I have not researched this, but it seems like common sense. Why does the finger-picking bug you? (Just a "peeve", I reckon...) Slapping? Fuggetaboutit, unless Larry Graham is back in town. -
Thanks for the Coffee Crisp link! I miss them, too!

Bills - Colts: stuff to watch.....
Dennis in NC replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For those of us who can not see the game tonight (no local viewing available), it is scheduled to be on the NFL Network Monday 10 AM Eastern time. If you are lucky enough to get the NFL Network, of course. It's great that they manage to show ALL the pre-season games during the following week. -
2 OL coaches for the Bills???
Dennis in NC replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What Bills regime was that when they had a "Run OC" and a "Pass OC"? I seem to recall that oddball combo - like NOBODY was really in charge - but not sure when it was. Was it under Wade or Gregg-o? -
Are you friggin' nuts? Yeah, good idea, let's bring in a whiner TO who can't live up to a contract. There's a fine example for the youngsters! I'm not sure Simon is worth his weight in whining, either...

If every Bills player had this attitude...
Dennis in NC replied to 30dive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was an article where Evans and Vincent declared Jim Leonhard to be "a football player". The opening blurb seemed sarcastic, so I did not read the article yet. But I like what Jim Leonhard brings to the team, a true instinct for football. Coy Wire seems to me to be the other side of that coin. A fine athlete, karate red belt and all that, but not instinctively "a football player". At least he is trying hard to become one. I was very surprised that they extended Wire's contract one more year. When did that happen? I hope the Bills can find a spot for Leonhard's skills. -
Met a Bills fan today (I don't meet too many)
Dennis in NC replied to MrLocke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live in a small city (pop 40,000) in SE Arizona. I was coming out of Vinny's Pizza (Vinny is ex-Buffalonian, pizzeria walls are covered with Buffalo street signs), and I did a double take, thinking I had seen a guy in a Bills cap. He wore a U of Arizona red/white/blue jersey, but sure enough he had a Bills cap. He says "Oh yeah, I'm the biggest Bills fan in Arizona" He had never been to Buffalo but liked the red, white, and blue team colors, and followed the Bills for years. This was last Friday, about 15 minutes before the scrimmage began on TV. It did not seem like "the biggest Bills fan in Arizona" was aware that the Bills were going to be on TV in a few minutes. I got a big chuckle out of that. (Well, maybe you had to be there...) PS: Hey Mr Locke, lots of great music from your part of the world! Masterless Men among others... -
POLL: Which Daisy Duke is HOTTEST
Dennis in NC replied to JarHeadJim's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got to go with Catherine Bach. She was a real down-home beauty, and as someone mentioned, the only reason to watch that show! She was not a manufactured beauty queen, like Jessica. Although, I have seen a pic or two of Jessica in those little shorts and, WHEW!, is it getting hot in here? -
You have to read that article on Jason Peters
Dennis in NC replied to RVJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was very encouraging that he was at the stadium almost as much as JP. Jason is a guy who had/has a lot to learn about pro football, especially changing positions DT -> TE -> OT. Didn't Jason play a fullback role once last season? I seem to recall it happening, but maybe only once. That punt block TD vs Cinci was an incredible play. How would you like to see him coming at you, esp. if you are a Dorenbos-sized punt snapper? Auuuggghhh!!! I'm glad he is progressing well. -
Nice report, CD! I know we are all concerned about the OL, and some of us find it hard to judge them at game speed. Nice that you could watch it a few times, keying on particular OL dudes. I did not have an updated roster last night, and wondered "who the hell is 61?", etc. One of those backups had his jersey pulled up and a belt wrapped around his lower chest. It reminded me of one of those "no hitting below the belt" jokes where the guy has a belt around his forehead... Weird.

Official - let's give Tory Woodbury a shot thread
Dennis in NC replied to eventualchamps's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He showed some nice ball handling, and threw a bullet for that TD. I would like to see him get more PT in the pre-season games, for sure. Kelly said: "I don't think you can do that. I think only those three designated quarterbacks can line up behind center. " You mean you can't run a play without a "listed QB" on the field? Any rules-hounds out there who know the answer for certain? -
Would you trade Moulds for Corey Simon?
Dennis in NC replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Simon does not seem like a "team" guy, more a me-guy. Moulds has a great attitude in a lot of areas (mentoring, blocking, etc.) No thanks. Now, get to bed, Freester! -
Random observations from the scrimmage
Dennis in NC replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And what about that "trips-wing" formation the Bills ran a few times? 3 guys in a mini-wedge behind the OT (or TE) spot. Usually, a TE went in motion from that formation. I don't what kind of variations MM/TC could be brewing up with that setup. I also liked what I saw of Lionel Gates! Good size, speed, and moves, apparently. And Tory Woodbury had some very nice qualities as well! Exciting stuff. -

What a classy thing of the Bills to do....
Dennis in NC replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is very cool that the Bills did that. Photo #10 looks like Tim Euhus riding the 20-inch bike. What a great picture. Are those going a little flat??? -
Wow, what a great report! Did you mean the Gandy and Giesinger duo? The 6th Rd OG, not the UDFA DE Gause. Your reports can NOT be too long! It's like eating ice cream on a hot hot day!

I don't often agree with Darin, but in this case, I must agree wholeheartedly...

Anybody have any insight
Dennis in NC replied to PhoolPhorBuphalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone reported yesterday that Liam was getting lots of work with the backups, that he seemed to be doing quite well among the backup group. Well, oops, here's a little RNews article about him. Liam carries Fletcher's jockstrap, er, um, helmet... -
Hey, Popup, welcome to our home away from home! Lots of fun dysfunctional folks here, especially as the season approaches. If it gets too weird, lurking is still an option. Nice to have you here.

Bryant released I wonder if Tim Krumrie could motivate this fellow Wisconsin Badger. Wendell Bryant was the 12th pick in Round 1 three years ago. I don't know the history, but maybe he just needs a boot in the ass. Oh, and a shot with a decent team...
-
Also, Tory Woodbury is listed as a QB, but is said to be more of a ST utility type guy. Maybe a slash guy if he could catch the ball.
-
Nice report, thanks! Why the Mike Williams bashing? He has reportedly done well in the OTA's, etc. Why is Kelly Holcomb running sprints with the OL after practice? Mike reported this, too. Is there an OL named Holcomb?

This is where I really miss Empire Sports Network
Dennis in NC replied to K-No's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our TSW reporters, like Rockpile, have done a fabulous job in years past, bringing all the juicy camp news to us out-of-towners. Hopefully, some of them will do that this year as well. -
main TSW page without any borders!
Dennis in NC replied to Dennis in NC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, Scott, how did you know I actually went to the original Woodstock??? (no lie) I didn't have any of the brown acid, but hey man, you are pretty damned clever! -
Wow, what the hell happened? I just got the main TSW page without any borders! It looks very strange!
