  1. When the guy needs a windup before his pitch, you know it's going to be some lame baseless jab. "I got one for you guys..." ***long fart*** The Lions are better off under Mariucci, but still pretty much suck. And they have lame-o local announcers. Consider the source on a comment like that.
  2. I agree 100% with this. Made up names are just bullshi+. A nickname must be earned. Something will evolve if he indeed excels.
  3. I may be completely insane (another story), but I thought Peters did that fullback role just once or twice last season. Maybe I was dreaming. Any Bills statisticians out there to help? That would seem to be a good role for him, since he could even catch an outlet pass from there. I think Newfeld has done that H-back spot on occasion.
  4. I will wake up bright and early (9:30), make coffee, make some breakfast, and watch the game on my 50" Samsung DLP TV. The bulb burned out 2 weeks ago, was easy to replace (but cost $200!). Good thing it did not happen on opening day! The bulb lasted just over 2 years.
  5. The Bills always seem to take very long to announce these PS signings. Maybe it just seems that way because we are salivating for them! That Lions DL Eric Powell looked awfully good, and he got cut. Would not mind if Bills signed him.
  6. Jim Leonhard has great football instincts, and is a good punt returner. I'm happy to see him make the team! For Leonhard, punt returns are 'ultimate high'
  7. And ol' Ross peeing in the cold tub might not have helped either!
  8. A few of those guys hung on for a couple years in the league. Justin Armour was a ST guy for Vikings for 5 yrs perhaps. Jeremy McDaniel showed up on an Arena ball team (last year or 2) Avion Black went to the Texans, I think, did not catch on. I saw that Bill Conaty was in Cardinals camp this year as #3 Center. Brad Lamb was one of those speedy white guys (from Anderson College IND)
  9. I thought some of the stressed out flood victims were going to start consoling Geraldo... He really ought to get out more.
  10. I just read that Fats Domino has been rescued, but they were not sure about his wife. He lived in the Lower 9th Ward that got hit very badly. He refused to leave because he had lived thru other storms before.
  11. Apparently, no thought was ever given that hurricane-prone states might need their guard troops kept at home during hurricane season.
  12. Boy, there's an image I didn't need to envision!!! Bad dreams tonight, whew!
  13. Dante Brown is an RB who had been with the Steelers, PSquad perhaps. Bills picked him up last season, not sure if he actually appeared in a Bills game last year(?) A key departure?
  14. Oh, THAT Corey... 2 million/yr might not be bad, sort of a bargain like Sam Adams sort of reasonable deal. Wasn't Simon asking for a $16M bonus?
  15. Too much money to pay for a guy who only seems interested in the payday...
  16. Walt Corey???!!! Which Corey are you referring to here, BTW?
  17. The blackballing stuff seems unlikely to me. I think the other NFL teams would scout pro players for themselves and not rely on the word of a player's ex-employer (or not-very-good coaches) to sign a guy or not. Ruben's a good guy, but not such a dominating player that he would pull down the gazillions he was hoping to get as an FA.
  18. Ohhh... when it is least expected!
  19. During the NFL Network re-broadcast, Ditka and his partner were pretty generous with saying good things about the Bills. I was quite surprised. Meanwhile, the ticker said that Orton was named the starter and that Hutchinson "was demoted out of the playing rotation". Yikes, sounds like a one-way Greyhound ticket back home for the Hutch-meister...
  20. Definitely 3 QBs. Matthews may not be exciting, or have much upside, but he is here as a tutor, apparently. I think Fast Freddie's days are done. On the few plays where I saw McFarland at RT, he sucked. I would not be surprised to see him gone. The coaches said some good things about Jerman, I guess, despite him falling down out of his stance! Joe Burns, well, he may just surprise us all and keep hanging on, sort of like Wire...
  21. Wow, that's a scream. I remember the baggage Incognito had leading up to the draft. And then to have the genius Mike Martz pick him up in the 3rd. What a friggin' waste. And now he's insulted by the contract offer... HAHAHAHAHA
  22. Well, at least to me, a poster's sincerity is more important than pure football analysis skills. Some of our folks are a bit more anal about it... I was disappointed in Shelton too. He was a good FB last year. Was the Bears defense actually that good that they made Shelton and Willis look mediocre? Willis looked slow, I agree. Maybe the Bills were just testing out some run game things. Orton does look awfully good. Hutchinson seemed to have a 50-50 mix of the Todd Collins "deer in the headlights" look mixed with the Drew Bledsoe emotionless look.
  23. I'll take the shoes, Bob! Or take the Wire highlight film if he is in some other team's uniform. People that defend Wire's play have probably not watched him try to play the game.
  24. I thought by "Mater Dei" you meant something different, like it's Latin for "mother of God" (it's close!) Later, I realized you meant "maitre d' hotel", the restaurant grand poobah. That mother of God thing was strange... Never mind.
  25. In taking that action, Ruben put in motion what many many Bills fans wanted to do, but could not get close enough to Killdrive. Throttle the bastard. Don't kill him, just let him know that you hate what he stands for, and that he should be in some other line of work. Thank you, Ruben!
