  1. They don't make it very clear how you actually cast a vote for one of these guys. Any hints from you guys who have voted? Thanks.
  2. And oh by the way Antwan Odom is a Bengal, no longer a Texan...
  3. I saw Jason Whittle out there today, but am not sure how many plays - or what position he was playing. For a moment, I thought he was at fullback, but not sure. Did anyone take closer notice of OL makeup throughout the game?
  4. Are any of these bars near Kent? I may be up there in a few weeks, and would like to catch the games.
  5. Actually, The Lemon Twins were 2 sisters with some sort of musical act (IIRC) in the John Candy/Eugene Levy movie "The Last Polka". The movie was a takeoff of The Band's finale in the movie "The Last Waltz". Candy and Levy played the Yosh and Stan Shmenge in regular appearances as The Happy Wanderers polka band on the SCTV comedy skit show. Part of the fun was that, as each introduced himself, they pronounced "Shmenge" differently. I sure miss John Candy.
  6. I have often wondered about this as well. During a recent Broncos (yuk) game, an announcer explain ZB as all 5 OL guys moving out in the same direction. All go right, or all go left, etc. I assume there would be various angles involved, but that was the simplistic explanation.
  7. Isn't Don Criqui a native of Kenmore? His sister Rosemary taught art at Cardinal O'Hara HS way back when... Don must be used to the Bills' horrible finishes of last year.
  8. And Reed seems to be a very scrappy guy, like a wicked blocker perhaps. Wasn't it Reed that Gibril Wilson punched -which got Wilson ejected?
  9. Ahem. Didn't the Bills "steal" Steve Tasker away from the Oilers in the same manner? I don't think he was injured, just waived with the hope/expectation of bringing Tasker back.
  10. Actually, I think they mentioned that Jauron had the best efficiency in winning challenges last season. Today's challenge may have been to gain more time for a break, as some other poster astutely noted, which is pretty smart on Dick's part.
  11. I'm afraid you'll have to get The Clipper's reply from that great sports desk in the sky. Clip died in a car crash some years back, if I recall correctly.
  12. LOL! That's what pops into my head when I hear of a motivational speaker... Maybe he gives talks to high school teams, to wit: "Your offensive line isn't going to amount to JACK SQUAT!!!"
  13. Mularkey seemed like a straight shooter, a no BS guy, in his first season, IMO. In his second season, that manner seemed to be completely changed, and he was more the norm of other NFL coaches, spouting the usual coach-speak BS. I don't know what changed him (maybe it was just my perception of him), but I did not respect him that second season.
  14. Hmmm, 1973, I think. Rich Stadium had just recently opened, maybe the previous year. OJ and the Bills vs Joe Namath and the Jets. My best friend's mom got free tickets from her employer (just this once). We caught a bus from the Sestak & Maguire's restaurant at our corner. A pleasant time was had by all.
  15. Thanks. Do you suppose Jason Peters is responsible for updating the training camp info on the Bills site?
  16. I am planning a trip, and need to know what dates in late July have open practices at St John Fisher. The official Bills site features the 2007 camp schedule, which does not do anyone much good. Historians, perhaps? Thanks for any current info, folks.
  17. The various articles on James Hardy certainly indicate to me that he realized his mistakes, did the time (so to speak), and has matured. I have no qualms about his character. He seems ready to work his butt off to make it in the NFL. And regarding the return game, wouldn't it be nice to have someone besides McGee who can make great returns. McKelvin was described as "an electric return man" (or words to that effect).
  18. I liked Rucker, too, and thought the Bills might get him. Some of the reports said Rucker never (or rarely) had to block because Missouri ran the spread offense. Rucker just caught a lot of passes that way. I trust the scouts to know who the heck the complete players are. They have scouted these guys for a couple of years. Fans might think we know the good players, but like the Owen Schmidt obsession, we probably only saw these guys in their big 2007-08 bowl games a few months ago.
  19. You are way off IMO. Tasker was a great player, but is among the worst of the game announcers. Gumbel was hideous. I am happy to see him go. What in the hell was he doing calling football games anyway?!
  20. Wasn't that supposed "back injury" just based on a "sore back" listing on an injury report? It seemed like not much of an issue at all.
  21. Hey Hamilton Bills Fan, welcome to our wacky home away from home! You picked a pretty juicy time to join us, of course, with the draft in 2 weeks. WR would be a pretty wild top pick. I don't know if Meacham rates a #12 pick. Maybe a short trade down to the teens or 20, then pick him. Crazier things have happened!
  22. I think it's the other way around. April 20 is the deadline for standard RFA signings, meaning you must pay the 1st and 3rd. I don't think Apr 20 affects the trading option, though.
  23. I like Zabransky, too! We should have some inside info on him since our new Asst OL coach Sean Kugler just spent the past season with Boise State.
  24. Oh mah Gawwwd, like wouldn't it be like totally awesome to be like drafted by Buffalo, I'm surrrre!
