  1. Wow, Bizell, you are brutal, man! LOL!
  2. There was talk after the draft that there had been a couple of teams wanting to trade into that early 2nd round spot to take Byrd. I'm not sure how true that talk was, but the guy sure is a ballhawk.
  3. Did you know Butch Byrd worked as an auto mechanic at a Chrysler dealer in the off-season? Back when they needed training camp to get into shape again for the season.
  4. When they signed him (which some folks saw as just Ralph's cheap-o solution) it sounded like a very positive move. I like that they raided the practice squad of a team with a pretty good OL. Meredith had like 30 starts @ South Carolina, under pro offense of Spurrier, so I was looking forward to seeing Jamon play. Not hearing his name called for a penalty was quite a bonus! Jonathan Scott seemed fairly useless in that spot, so I was very pleased with Meredith today.
  5. Announcers have said that about Parrish the past few weeks, but this season Roscoe has been "dangerous" to just one team. Last week's performance(?) earned him the bench this week. I was happy to see that benching.
  6. Wow, Jimmy Johnson, the Evil-Pork Faced Satan "EPFS" of just a few years ago. You may have strongly disliked this guy when he coached in the NFL, but would you want him to coach your favorite football team? Hell, yeah!!! But, another poster said Helmet Hair lives on his boat in the Keys. Fat chance of leaving that. Hey, we could chip in and buy him a Ski-Doo and some ice fishing gear.
  7. Ray, it will be interesting to see if the Bills' so-called braintrust believes Trent is worth investing in long term. I suppose TE has a 4-yr deal, expiring after 2010 season. Will they sign him long term? They do not see very well. Sort of Mister Magoo of the NFL.
  8. I watched into the 4th Q, then didn't mind turning it off when there was some cooking to be done. And, like Steve Stojan, there is no more cheering, and no surprise when things go wrong. It is now expected Trent will throw a pick-6. Pathetic is the word.
  9. Pathetic is the word that came to my mind about this horribly coached (and built) team many times today.
  10. I thought it looked like he was wiping a tear away at one point during the game. Maybe the thought of achieving a moral victory really chokes him up. The Moral Super Bowl is held in April if I remember correctly...
  11. Your 2009 Buffalo Bills: Just close your eyes - and enjoy the game!
  12. You can get as many Bills fans as you want on that Dump Dick bandwagon, but you still have to have the old man abandon his PT Cruiser and take the wheel to drive Dick out of town. Can you imagine Ralph taking Dick for a ride, and dropping him off just inside Pennsylvania? Is there a junction of Routes 7 and 9 somewhere?
  13. OMG, such harsh words for his own players "nothing commendable happened" ouch, don't throw your players in THAT briar patch, Dick! LOL
  14. This is pretty sad, and scary, for Bills fans. Remember those good things Bill Walsh had said about Trent when Marv drafted him? And wasn't Trent the first draft pick to agree to a contract that year? Has all that good stuff gone down the Dick Jauron coaching drain? Sad indeed.
  15. DJ really should be locked up! I mean for stealing the old man's money. But DJ could probably help any schmuck team reach 7-9, so Ralphie will probably keep him on. Dick's a nice man. I guess that is really important to those Foolish Club members.
  16. Exactly what I was thinking, Mark. Thanks, WVU, for the great commentary. And did you know that the Bills DB coach is legally blind? The Bills participate in the NFL Blind Coaches Program. No other team has opted to join them, though. Actually, playing 10 yards off the line helps our DBs get to the end zone quicker, and helps to speed up the game.
  17. That was a great parting shot from TO. Earlier in the contest, in a long bridge crossing run & ride (2 people deciding how to split use of 1 bike), TO ran most of it while she pedalled her a$$ for an easier time. And this tramp complains that HE is a bad teammate? Yeah, sure, lady.
  18. Waiving Joel Bell seems pretty shocking to me. But then maybe all the positive stories about him were just due to his interesting history. Big daddy, do you know any more about Joel and why this might have happened? You were a big Joel Bell fan. Are you a Furman alum or friend of the family? I just wondered if you might have any insight on this. Joel seemed like a guy that could be developed in a couple years, but the coaches must have seen some show-stopper in his game, something that made even taking him to training camp a moot point.
  19. Or perhaps "Peanut Butter 'n Jelly" Sanchez would be ummm... fitting. Mark knows where to find the PB, let's hope some sort of jelly is involved...
  20. Ouch! I think you have hit the nail squarely upon it's head. What an ugly way to lose. Didn't the Bills have 2 or 3 INT TDs and ST scores? I'm fuzzy on the game details, but recall the great plays by George Wilson et al. Finding a way to lose -- yikes, it reminds me of the Kay Stephenson era ...
  21. I had to attend a 1950s music show put on by an oldsters' chorus group recently. The changed the lyrics of "The Great Pretender" because it says "...just laughing and gay like a clown". They made it "laughing all day like a clown" or some such. Pretty ridiculous, IMO.
  22. Sierra Vista, AZ 10 miles from the Mexican border. Drinking coffee, waiting for our pick. Hate the 4PM start...
  23. I heard from a Bengals fan that they had considered JP, but signed JT O'Sullivan instead. No link, not sure if true, but I heard it from a fan.
  24. I don't think lazy is a fair way to characterize JP. He came back to Buffalo in February, earlier than any other players, and worked his ass off, according to the reports back then. I guess you just can not fix the mental part of the game, or the Bills coaches don't know how to coach a player to be aware of his surroundings (e.g., a monster LB bearing down on you). Situational awareness... I think the guy worked very hard, but just does not have the mental side of the game. I wish him well.
