  1. Some have suggested trying him at tight end, but you have to wonder if he has any football instincts for the offensive side either. It seems unlikely. When asked about being inactive in Baltimore and "do you consider this as a wake up call?" He says no, it's not a wake up call, it was something a bit lighter. I thought wow that's NOT a wake up call??? What on earth would it take to serve as a wake up call - a sledge hammer? Yikes, he seems clueless, not even angered by all this. But he's sitting on $15 million (or whatever), eh, what the heck? I hope he enjoys that money, because he will eventually need to "get a job".
  2. Back in the 60s, Butch Byrd was a mechanic at a Chrysler dealer during the off-season. The guy next door to me was a salesman there (dealership at Hertel & Delaware). Sestak & Maguire owned a pizza restaurant at my corner (not sure if they were still active players at that time, but it was circa 1965). Paul Maguire talked on his show about how they would need training camp to get in shape. Now, players make big $$$ and stay in pretty much shape all year. Things have changed a lot in the NFL world.
  3. Well, good luck getting any accountability out of those guys! I can just picture Dick Jauron saying that this agile 6'4" 340-pound beast "does not fit our Tampa-too system". Auuuggghhh!!!! Or maybe LT Ryan Clady instead of bust-mode Lynch. Oh well, it's not worth getting an ulcer over those front office clowns.
  4. Well, it took a few years for all the horrible personnel selections by those clowns to catch up with the team. By now, we have such crappy personnel that it will take a few years of drafting more smartly to fix it. You can mortgage (or second mortgage) your home today, and have a really nice car to drive for a couple years. But eventually, the stuff hits the fan when you have no place to park your fancy car. Selecting safety, RBs, and KRs with your high picks might be fun for a while, but those little fellows can't protect your QB or tackle anybody near the LOS! Pay me now -- or pay me later!
  5. John, it seems that the free agent class this year was pretty sparse, as I recall. There were just not many options - a few guys "we" clamored for, but generally slim pickins...
  6. Me, too. I thought Detroit was a bad joke when they went 0-16. Now I see how easily it can be "accomplished". Just add 10 years of bad drafting (we didn't even have Matt Millen here to help) and budda-bing, you got a bunch of players that do not seem to belong playing in the NFL. Coming into this season, I believed "at least the Bills will not be disgraceful every week", thinking that after the Jauron era ended, we would a least put up a fight each week. Sadly, I was very wrong. They have sucked even worse than I thought was possible. So much for optimism where the Bills are concerned.
  7. OK, so one of you guys will have to be "the billionaire". You can try to gather votes among the 70,000 investors, and if elected Billionaire, you will make the decisions. Of course, you will have to keep your voters happy (and they know where you live!). So, come draft day, you had better get it right!
  8. Oh my god! Are you referring to Emo Philips??? Wow - that's where Trent's hairdo came from!
  9. Apparently, they tried to trade for McNabb, but he was not interested. Understandable since he would likely be running for his life a lot with Bills. But they tried to get him.
  10. I'm not sure if it was Scott who missed the guy, but someone (from Titans) came from that left side, and knocked QB Dennis Dixon out of the game. I thought he looked pretty crappy for the Bills last year. I was not sad to see him let go. Oddly, OL coach Sean Kugler must have liked him well enough that the Steelers signed Scott. Probably hoped he would not start, but stuff happens, eh?
  11. This is also why 7th round pick Steve Johnson outplayed Hardy from the moment they arrived in Buffalo. Johnson played (and learned) in Kentucky's pro style offense, while James hardy only had to run down the field and "be there". Poor scouting, apparently. Or maybe the decision makers failed to listen to the scouts.
  12. But he was a good special teamer! I can't another QB who played ST. Wasn't he from Dartmouth U? Or some Ivy League school.
  13. And the TSW folks who were eager to trade for OT Alex Barron might have enjoyed the show Mr Barron put on this evening in DC. The announcers questioned whether Barron would still be a Cowboy when the plane landed back in Dallas...
  14. After seeing Poz's long hairdo, I was thinking he looks like Tarzan, but fragile like Jane. Does not seem to be a guy you can rely on game in and game out. Because he is often out.
  15. I sure miss those fish frys back in Buffalo. It's one of those foods we MUST get whenever we visit Buffalo. Out here, they say "haddock? whaaa?" Did you squish it before you ate it? The game starts at 10 AM out here, so it's breakfast time at kickoff!
  16. You feel Nix may not be well liked among GMs? Pure speculation on your part, isn't it? Just a feeling? We always talk about the possible trade ups in the draft yet Nix is always sprinting in the first round pick. Sure, "we" the fans talk about it. But we know zilch about what is really occurring. "always sprinting in the first round pick" - it happened in 2010, never before, so forget about your "always" Completely off base? Probably, yes.
  17. If Marshawn can learn to hit the hole a bit quicker, I would love to see him get the most carries. He can pound the defense (on a good day), and soften things up for the other guys. But I love what I have seen from CJ, of course. And then what Fred did last year! It should be an interesting year.
  18. According to an article (I think it was by Ross Tucker) on the relative importance of each OL position, RG was the most important interior OL spot. So putting Wood there makes the most sense. I suppose other OL experts may have different opinions, the Tucker article made sense. Tucker on OL positions
  19. I came across a very interesting article about David Nelson, and Florida receivers in general. It is all the more interesting in light of Friday night's performance. Scout.com
  20. Wow, now that is (lack of) mental toughness!
  21. The Roch D&C photos from Aug 11, pic #9, identifies #62 as Sean Allen. The roster says different. But the poster who said Jorge Guerra may be right. I don't recall seeing him on the roster.
  22. OK, men, let's party all night BEFORE the Super Bowl! If we get back here next year, let's party-til-we-puke again. There's a game today? Oh, I don't feel so good coach! That's right, Marv, treat them like men... and they will throw up on your shoes!
