  1. When the Bills hired Mularkey he was an unknown as a head coach. Bad decision, but it happens.

Then somehow he emerged in Jacksonville as a HC. Most said "WTF?" but he was promptly fired after one year. The league seemed to have caught on.

Now he is supposedly the favorite to be hired Titans HC? Shame on them, then. By now it ought to be obvious that this guy is not head coach material. He won 2 games for them as interim coach! Even there he was awful.

Yet NFL teams just have to keep hiring this guy. This is why the Rooney Rule exists.

No, actually Mularkey falls under the lesser known Rummy Rule, which allows certain jackwagons to hang around the league and pretend to be qualified coaches.

  2. Now MS has a real Cortana, and it's looking over your shoulder at what you type and at what you see and do. It knows all, sees all. But you can trust it. Technology never fails.

Under Windows 10, Microsoft has access to ALL OF THE DATA on your PC. They say that this is so Cortana can help you with all of your life events, etc.

  3. But we did not know of it till much later.

and he is not the only player who had mystery illness is he. lets see who can name a few?

Good news. who came in for Henderson last week? I did not even know we had another Tackle. Is Hairston back?lol

Chris Hairston and Cordy Glenn come to mind in the mysterious illness category. Why is it always happening to OTs???

Ex-Bear Jordan Mills came into the game at RT last week.

  4. This is a pet peeve of mine but Jerry Hughes' penalty was not coachable. That's incredible stupidity from a guy who has done that since he got here and has been yelled at repeatedly and sat down for it and nothing works. That's not coachable. We had numerous pass interference calls with our guys holding but they are coached constantly to do everything but that, Donnie Henderson is our very best coach, and these guys make a ton of plays by staying so close. The penalties drove me as crazy as they did you, I'm sure. I was screaming to bench Hughes. But that obviously would have been a horrible move. It wouldn't stop him from being a moron and it might have resulted in a loss because he dominated the game after that.

Why the f^%$ didn't Carrington make the tackle on Tannehill on that play???

It looked like Carrington could have tackled Tannehill, but would have had to dive for him. Make the f#$%^&tackle, please Alex!

Then Jerry would not have been able to hit him out of bounds.

  5.

    Thoughts?

    Get bent.

If you are pissed about EJ Manuel, you may need to blame Buddy Nix instead. I think the Manuel drafting was Buddy's final act as GM. We will never really get the lowdown on who did what in that draft, but I think that was Buddy. After ignoring the QB position for his whole tenure (maybe), he HAD TO DRAFT A QB, and it was a lousy QB class to choose from.

As for this "ego" thing, where do you get that crap? Is this about Bryce Brown perhaps?

  6. What an original thread. :bag: 84 posts. 2 of them the same in the last year. Prolific you are.

Well hey, the OP's been a Bills fan (or been alive) since 1972. You've got to let him express his feelings about his favorite team - you know, the team that pisses many of us off almost every Sunday.

Let's "build a bully" and then wonder why you get an excessive number of penalty flags thrown your way! Duh, Rex.

  7. The CFL has instituted such a rule. I saw a receiver who felt he was wronged waving the "throw a flag" gesture.

He "received" an "objectionable conduct" penalty. I think it was 15 yards.

This must be a new rule in the last year or two. The CFL seems to be going the same over-officious route just like the NFL.

I'm not a fan of new NFL rules (good God), but one thing I would love to eliminate is players doing the "first down" signal.

Jerks like Julian Edelman and Golden Tate seem to use it like a legal taunt. Just eliminate it.

  8. Paul Costa, Tight End during the 1960's glory years passed away recently. I often post about the "old days of the "AFL" and growing a Bills fan; I had family members that were plank holders regarding season tickets from 1960 well into the 1990's.

Plank holder? Were there just plank benches for seating at the Rockpile?

Yes, those guys had day jobs back in the 1960s. Sestak and Maguire owned a restaurant/pizzeria at my corner in Kenmore.

Butch Byrd (star cornerback) was an auto mechanic at the Chrysler dealer (Delaware at Hertel) where my neighbor worked.

RIP Paul Costa, and condolences to his family.

  9. Thank you very much, BuffaloBill. I am in a self-imposed exile from another board, and have been looking for a new home. After over 7 years there, it changed too much and was no longer for me, but I still feel the need to post my opinions as well as my irreverent comments. There just aren't any Bills fans here in my new home.

Hope this is my new haunt.

Herb, this is a great place to be. Lots of knowledgeable posters, lots of great Bills info.

You will find some petty bickering and a few always-negative posters, but you learn to ignore those folks.

TSW is here for you 365 days a year (366 in a leap year).

    Welcome!

  10. Hopefully we don't get a bad Tyrod:

"The tie rods are part of the steering system on your vehicle, and one of the items that are adjusted when doing an alignment.

When the tie rod is bad, the first thing that happens is your alignment is out. This will result in premature tire wear and possibly the vehicle pulling to one side while driving.

If the tie rod gets bad enough that it actually breaks, you might suddenly lose control of the steering. Hopefully you won't be in a lot of traffic when that happens."

I wouldn't want the team always running left...

I worked at the Delevan Avenue Chevy plant way back when. I spent 6 miserable months on the assembly line, attaching tie rods to the steering thingy. Hardest job ever, but paid big bucks.
