Damond, it is unfortunate when the whiners get their way.
You were one of the few posters who ever had real news. So naturally, someone is miffed and has to complain.
Ridiculous behavior.
I hope you come back and post here again.
The whiners may eventually discover the Ignore button.

----Tuel was sacked by Blatnick, INT by Aaron Williams, PBU by Mana Silva, fumbled the ball as he went back to pass, and missed Sampson. He looked extremely third string tonight.
Great stuff, Astro. Much appreciated by those of us thousands of miles away (also loved by the locals).
Must have been Mana Silva's replacement, eh? Maybe LaGree with the PBU?

Great post, very informative. I like Gragg too but I think we struck gold in Darick. If Gilmore is shutting down Stevie and Darick manages to sneak by him he is showing up. Too early to know for sure but if he stays healthy and clean I think he starts game 1. May even outshine Woods.
It's early, of course, but I too am very excited about what Da'Rick Rogers may become.
In pre-draft reports, he was called "a Julio Jones clone".
Check out his interview (at Tennessee Tech, I think) if it is still available in the pre-draft info. He sounded like a respectful young guy, making up for his mistakes. Not a thug or badass at all.

Nah...Let him run lots of slant routes.
Perfecto!
Hey 26, are you referring to Mr Winfield? I'm guessing it's not for Justin Rogers.
I wore my 26 Winfield jersey last Friday night at the Wailers show at Buffalo Place. Not much call for it here in Arizona...

Did you say GUARD???
Hmmmmmmm

Maybe we could have a new Camp thread each week. That way the overall post count won't be quite so daunting for those who feel compelled to read each and every posted nugget of wisdom, wit, and incomparable insight provided by "the most football knowledgeable fans in the NFL".
This is a good idea.
The complete merging of any post about camp drives me crazy - it's like my wife's "this can go into a smaller container" obsession.

I think the Jets are going to "suck for Luck" (nothing much rhymes with Bridgewater) this year, pick up one of the hot 2014 QBs in the draft. Also replace Rex fairly soon.

Cool story. Thanks for posting it.
I always liked Carlton as a Bills player. I recall his dad was in the military when Carlton and the Bills were playing a playoff game.

Screw the bench press... those vertical jump and broad jump numbers are INSANE! We stole him if he gets his act together! Good gravy!
Some scouting reports called Rogers a "Julio Jones clone".

In some highlight videos, Rogers looks like the "open when he is covered" kind of guy.
I am very excited to see Da'Rick Rogers playing for the Bills.

Like " I don't know why it happened. We will have to see the tapes and figure it out. I don't have any answers for it yet". And it was like a broken record week in, week out.
Kay Stephenson had his favorite phrase "Well, we're not getting the job done." When the same sh@# happens every week you bring out the same old phrase.
And to the poster doing the critique of the OP, you might want to spell Marrone with two Rs, not just one.

While we are on the topic of Bills winning & losing...
I was digitizing some old cassette tapes and came across a 1984 show with Kay Stephenson talking about how his 0-10 Bills lost the Cleveland game on a fluky late play.
DB Brian Carpenter said something to the effect of "I guess God was not ready for the Bills to win this week".
Of course, that shabby season led to the top pick Bruce Smith.

That was a lot of fun watching that draft day clip from the war room. Like someone else said, wouldn't it be fun to sit in that room and take it all in (like a fly on the wall)?

I dunno. For me, it's all about that guy Rogers. Maybe because everyone wants to find a diamond in the rough. Everyone believes that someone's cast off is another person's treasure. But this guy could be BIG. Everyone on this board has had a few scrapes. If Rogers has cleaned things up...Holy Crap. And we'll see in a few weeks.
I am also very excited to see what Da'Rick can do on the field.
You should take a look at YouTube for some of Da'Rick's highlights. He looks like one of those elusive "open when he's not open" kind of guys.
Some of the scouting reports called him a "Julio Jones clone".
Watching the video interview from his pro day, he appears to have cleaned up his act, seems to be a reasonable, humble guy, not any sort of thug. So that was very encouraging in case you are worried about his past troubles.

Yeah the kool aid is flowing so I'll spike the punch a little more..........
We have a young new innovative NFL head coach and OC
We had our pick of any college QB in the nation and we got the guy we wanted
We have a new Defensive Coordinator who is proven in this league
We have CJ Spiller and they don't
Our #2 receiver Robert Woods is going to be an NFL force
Dareus is going to come back with a vengeance this year
Solid special teams, faster defense, younger and stronger overall.
Plus our rookies can party like nobody else....... Luckily they'll have Stevie Johnson to show them how to mature and take life seriously.
If you don't think our team is going to be fun, you're nuts.
+1
Many fans will drag out the old "show me the Ws" business, but we all must wait for September for any of that.
But you should be able to see that this is not just another retread coach with a bunch of old ideas. You may not see it if you are blinded by cynicism from decades of losing. Try to get over it.
The elusive "baby" is finally on it's way.

These two guys were getting some buzz as possible late-rd QB prospects.
Dysert went in the 7th to the Broncos:

Lalich, as far as I can tell, wasn't drafted and wasn't signed as an UDFA. Suprising, considering that the kid may have had the best arm in the class:
Wow, that Pete Lalich story is pretty sad. It sounds like he could be a very good pro QB. He will probably get a chance somewhere eventually.

This is a bit like Jimmy Kimmel's Lie Witness News, where they ask people if they have voted in the Vice Presidential Election (the day after the Pres Election). Many people tell stories of how they waited in line for the VP election...
Funny stuff.

Basicly the same as it does with normal FA's, players and their agents get to select the team of their choice provided that team offered them a deal. Often recruitment allready starts when the draft is still going on. Staff is calling players that are undrafted at that time letting them know that they are welcome to sign with the team if they go undrafted. As to actual contract money etc I'm unsure but I assume it pretty basic NFL minimum stuff.
The article on Drew Smith, RB Albany, said he signed a 3-year contract with a signing bonus. That sounds like a "priority UDFA" situation, where multiple teams may be bidding for a player.

Getting a project player like Okoye is the kind of thing that can separate a FO from the rest - using all the available resources to find Gems where others neglect it, or don't see it. I'm not saying he will make that type of difference, but I'm saying it's the teams that go for the homerun wherever they can find it - like Miami getting Cameron Wake.
Getting a project player like Da'Rick Rogers is a huge event for the Bills FO. They call Rogers a Julio Jones clone - so to nab him as a UDFA is just incredible to me. It's a very exciting group of WRs, for sure.
And many thanks to 26CornerBlitz for keeping the UDFA list up to date. What a haul!!!
-
It was stated earlier that Geno is a slow reader, that is, slow reading WR progressions. That sounds like a serious drawback for a QB.

Thank you for your optimism. There are so many gloomy people posting here, your bright outlook is refreshing.
I am very excited for what this new regime is doing. They have a plan, they have a clue (!), and the Bills are headed in the right direction IMO.
And how the hell can people complain when the Bills draft a guy with 4.27 speed? He's a friggin' Olympian fer chrissake!
That's not how it was on MY BOARD...

I have a copy of Nobody's Gonna Buffalo My Bills.

Tank Carder did not work out so well last year.
Carl "Tank" Byrum -

Carl currently resides in Cheektowaga, NY and works as a welder…He is an active member of the Buffalo Bills Alumni Association and still attends most Bills home games.
Any other tanks you know of?

That's from ESPN Insider - uncool to post the entire copy-written piece. Just sayin'
You mean copyrighted. Of course, copy is written, but it's a copyright issue in this case.

I like EW more and more as the seasons progress...you can tell he really wants to win and isn't simply going through the motions for the paycheck.
I remember Eric yelling at Maybin during training camp about how Maybin had not done anything to earn his money yet.

I've got a few old Bills nuggets.
How about a 1984 Kay Stephenson show where he talks about the 0-10 Bills? (it's an oldie, but baddie)
I also have "Nobody Gonna Buffalo My Bills" from ~1981.
PM me your email address, and I will send them to you.
