Happy belated birthday Steve.

Nahhh a great number of them have not been Bills fans for a while and have just got season tickets so they can buy a number of extras for scalpers getting a 'finders' fee". Some even brag about it saying the sales to opposing fans for just a couple of games pay for season tickets even though they sell the other tickets 'at a loss'.

Just read Watchmen graphic novel

I agree regarding Rorschach's scene. Director wanted to show visually Rorschach flip rather than having actor doing so with mannerisms. Unneeded and seemed to be added for extra violence. -
NFLPA tabs DeMaurice Smith as it's new boss
BillsWatch replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
www.pattonboggs.com/dfsmith DeMaurice Smith is a trial lawyer and litigation partner at Patton Boggs who concentrates in white-collar criminal defense and "bet the company" tort liability trials. He is Chair of the firm's Government Investigations and White-Collar Practice Group. No NFL background. Perfect for NFL Players sue even if player is wrong mentality. I am sure he will help keep the older players from getting share of NFLPA profits Heard plenty about him locally since he is from Washington. -
One third of voting is by fans for Pro Bowl so was chosen by fan voting. Bills will not "let him go" - they made trade if they think they can get more value by trading. Just introducing facts into your tilted discussion. Oh and Peters never made it to Pro Bowl being 'injured' at end of both years.

Draft Day at the Ralph Wilson Stadium
BillsWatch replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Club seat season ticket holders get invitations. I went when Willis was drafted - you could see on faces of defensive coaches they were depressed. -
http://www.wgrz.com/sports/story.aspx?storyid=64901 By "football-wise observers" he means column writers and bulletin board posters. Gladly signed - he could have no signed extension and been free agent now. Isn't that agent Parker the one who stuck the Bills before or was that a different Parker? I agree rookie salaries are out of control but that also doesn't mean a player who could not cut it in college enough to be drafted in ANY round deserves that money after year and half of performance.

"Holding out" is a violation of contract. Cutting is part of the contract negotiated and agreed to by player and agent as part of upfront money. JP could have not negotiated extension and taken his chances after end of contract. It would be nice if real world worked like football is and that you could "hold out" paying taxes without penalty. It also would be nice if football commissioner enforced the rules like he should regarding players who hold out and should decertify agents who instruct their players to hold out.

California - home of the stoned
BillsWatch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Why should you expect people who are not paying taxes now to start paying? It would go underground and above ground with lots of advertising and money spent to catch tax dodgers like those who avoid taxes on alcohol and tobacco as well those who were supplying to under age teenagers. I think the problem will just be spread around although more taxes will be raised and spent. -

I think it is a riot that some people are even considering buying a jersey for a player who will probably be here one year. -

United Football League Announces Coaches.

Yes - the other cities played and based in - Orlando, Las Vegas, Hartford and Los Angeles. I think starting with 4 teams is a bit small for a league but it may work out allowing first teams to be financially stable. This is directly in competition with NFL, CFL and college football. I think a spring league would have done better but I suspect reasoning is seeking college players / NFL players not making rosters; if they do well they can apply to teams again following year. Spring players like NFL Europe players were usually too worn for regular season. -
what exactly does chuck pollock think TO is going to do?
BillsWatch replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cut him and let him go try to collect another paycheck? No you sit him on the bench and say when he wants to grow up then he can go on the field and play. -
Maybe laws in Germany limiting names are not as bad as some claim.

[closed]Someone Help me out here
BillsWatch replied to downsoufbfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He had three years left on his contract and wanted to renegotiate, did not show up for optional or mandatory off-season mini-camps or training camp, showed up in camp out of shape and played much below previous year's standard. Other that he is fine for some to raise flagpole about claiming he is an all-world player and they would chip in the extra money he wants by taking food out of the mouths of their children. -

BillsWatch replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Chuck Pollock is a very old school writer - he writes his old column not has someone else write it, spell checks it and is usually right on with facts and differentiates it with his opinion but in this case I think he has mixed up his opinion what makes a great team with facts. I agree that TO has been disruptive with teams without that stupid and moronic analogy about throwing a player under a bus but I think it would more important on teams more ego driven. The Bills are the opposite of that and will manage TO different than other teams. -
Rosenass is a well paid, over pumped liar but that should be no surprise to anyone who was watched NFL last decade.

My only issue is just because someone posts on this board or replies to that thread does not make the response a Bills fan response.

Bills safe, Chiefs to lose franchise?
BillsWatch replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the city fails to pay the $2 million the team has the right to break the contract. They can negotiate new terms as an example stores do, look for another home which they could not do as when they were under contract, etc. It is the same situation as it is with players like Jason Peters - just because you do not like the contract you signed does not mean you do not need to honor it - but it the contract is broken THEN you have rights to move on or renegotiate. -
