  1. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-b...p&type=lgns http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11543436 Speaking at the NFL owners meetings Tuesday, coach Dick Jauron said the team has been in contact with Peters’ agent and added “we’re trying to get something done.” I do not see what the use is? They could sign an extension, JP get the bonus money and STILL hold out.
  2. Jason Peters problem is like a staff infection - it lingers for a long, long time.
  3. Just a couple of years ago Bills failed to sell out. Blame was put on a lot of factors including a devastating October storm which took out a lot of discretionary dollars, the hot Sabres and option of moving latter half games meaning those going to game needed to have adjustable plans as well. Since I fly to games in latter part of season the last rule affects me - I do not go to latter games unless I already plan on not leaving until Monday.
  4. It is going to look real strange on TV with KC helmets with Texas on it. Home team gets choice of wearing home or away jerseys so I am guessing that Patriots* agreed to wear white away jerseys. I assume this means Bills also agreed to wear Blue home jerseys in 2nd game before full schedule was released.
  5. NFL is not talking about lengthening season / adding games; the article title is false. It could have been true but not as impacting by saying 'N.F.L. Owners Will Vote to Lengthen Regular Season, Goodell Says' since it was not an exact quote. They are talking about converting one or two preseason games to regular season games. I am a little surprised about this for some teams preseason is a gold mine., a time to get full price while "not paying" full price for players. In actuality they pay full price + preseason game cost and the players want the same amount for preseason games even if they do not play the entire game. NFL teams actually pay players for preseason games even if they do not participate in game. They are announcing this now before the new contract because they know the NFL players will demand more per game since most players do not play full preseason games anyways. This way they can incorporate everything into new package.
  6. Wasn't there when I posted but that often happens in a hot topic especially when I am multitasking. Either that or poster is on my ignore list. Why? If you want to you can get more than one service provider. It will cost more but networks do not mind as long as you pay them too.
  7. No it means you will need to pay a fee. Does not even mean it will be on TV but could be available via computer like internet radio of games is.
  8. Or we will get two away games to start season. I am asking for first two weekends off anyways.
  9. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/foot...nfl/wires/03/23/2020.ap.fbn.dolphins.raiders.trade.0166/index.html The Miami Dolphins have traded center Samson Satele to the Oakland Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick. The move announced Monday clears the way for Jake Grove to move into the starting center spot. The Dolphins signed Grove to a multiyear deal earlier this month, after he spent five seasons with the Raiders. Not technically a swap in as Grove was a free agent but effectively.
  10. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/story/11537198 Front page quote: The Terrell Owens gamble could bump the Bills closer to the playoffs and maybe save Dick Jauron's job. First, Buffalo must draft tight end help and find a fast fix for its slow-footed Article quote: The Bills have needs on defense that might supersede the choice to take a tight end -- especially in importance. They have pass-rush woes and could use a rush end in the worst way. They had just 24 sacks in 2008, four from their top three ends. I disagree with Pete Prisco - Bills do have speed at DE but are under powered. Chris Kelsay is not slow but perhaps he is referring not speed but acceleration and he does not have a great burst off the line. Denney is a large size DE who can has good reach, decent at defending in short range zone and can get his hands up and block passes. Later in article: DL: The interior of the line is set with Marcus Stroud and Kyle Williams starting and John McCargo backing up. Schobel is coming off a Lisfranc foot injury, which is a concern. Kelsay has been a disappointment opposite him after getting a contract extension. They need major help with speed off the corners. Is McCargo staying? I think he means Spencer Johnson.
  11. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11540355 In announcing the opening weekend's nationally televised games, the league also said the Chicago Bears will play at Green Bay in the first Sunday night game. The Monday night doubleheader on Sept. 14 will feature Buffalo, with Terrell Owens, at New England, with, the Patriots hope, a returning Tom Brady. That game will be followed by San Diego at Oakland. No changes were made in the traditional Thanksgiving afternoon games, which again will be hosted by Detroit and Dallas. The Lions go back to meeting the Packers that day, a matchup that lasted several decades on the holiday, but only happens sporadically nowadays. The Raiders will be at the Cowboys following that, and the night game will feature the New York Giants at Denver. Now let the rest of the leaks begin!
  12. Maybe New England will get hit by a hurricane, Boston area shut down and it will end up being closing game or bye week game not opener.
  13. Willis and new wife were introduced by mutual friends so sounds like she may not be typical gold digger. His ex-wife was there at wedding as well which makes it more interesting.
  14. http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=111&sid=1630384 I see nothing wrong with them doing so but they need to be careful - if they include the work on their job application they risk being turned down by some with puritan morals but if they don't they may be falsifying application and liable in some states for immediate termination or being sued. If they do not do it because it is off the books and will not show up in credit report then they are violating IRS laws and if they did not have any other work during period they will need to claim "unemployment" as reason why not employed. They will also violate unemployment insurance laws if they claim it while working.
  15. Toronto dome is not available until after CFL closes season so that will never happen. Even if they could get dome Toronto would never agree for it would increase pressure from CFL and Canadian press.
  16. Publishing the schedule after owners' meeting would keep weeks of speculation and insider leaks which keep up interest in off-season. Schedule will be released fully first on NFL Network although most of the significant games will be leaked before then. Look to see when NFL Network is going to have their schedule special and you will know when it will be leaked. I wonder if players get a percentage of NFL Network or should they start their own rival network?
  17. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9369852...tiating-tactics The league does not want games decided by a coin toss, but the competition committee, which proposes rules changes, said the players were strong in their opposition to any change. The NFL never would adopt the goofy college rule, which is more of a shoot-out than a football game. But it also has resisted a simple fix of just moving the overtime kickoff back to the 35-yard line to restore the offense/defense balance that used to exist. I have read other articles on WHY they do not want the change is because they believe that their is an increased risk in changing the rules such as proposed for at least one TD score, if team receiving kick team scores a FG opposing team has chance to score a TD, etc. Do not let players say their first concern is winning in NFL - their first concern is not getting paid; there is nothing wrong with that but their is something wrong with being hypocritical saying such cliches as 'Anything we can do to give us a chance to win more I am in favor of' like we hear from speaking to press.
  18. Rather ship the posters to Canada. If toxic waste transport covered by free trade agreement? Done using ALL CAPS, posting or going?
  19. The much anticipated final was shown last night and i eagerly watched it and the Frackin' special as well. I'll try not to post any big spoilers. The special admitted they had not picked out the final Cylons ahead of time but was there was discussion when picking them it was a combination of elimination and consensus when they did. It was interesting to hear attitude of SF execs. The final battle seemed a little rushed into - not getting there or the battle but reasoning. The song finally made sense even if it was not planned from beginning. I liked the resolution of the Kara/Starbuck plot and it fit in well with resolution of the Giaius/Capricorn plot. I liked as well as the Boomer/Athena plots completion. The temple resolution was well foreshadowed. The series has been eliminated some characters as it has been going along (Zare, Call, Dualla, Gaeta). They brought in a few too many new characters in final 2 hour episode. Some who I thought were new had made many token appearances but only the actor's family and friends knew. Great series overall but I would not mind a "director's cut" for DVD making it a bit tighter (removing recaps) and expanding a few scenes like intended. The final number surviving seemed high but I think they were counting the human cyclons as well.
  20. Scan it in and attach it Jack since some are treating it like Skooby's reports about a friend of a friend who met someone in a bathroom or some such nonsense.
  21. Translation: You got you got yelled at for crapping your pants and spread it on face instead. It is still crap however you distribute it.
  22. That is not true! He is an expert at holding out and ruining season when he finally joins! They even refer to it as the "Galloway" rule. Even Jason Peters is a novice to him. I hope he teaches this technique to a number of Pats* players.
  23. Agree they should hold it there and simulcast it in Rochester and Toronto. Show they want to be a regional franchise and prove it. They would break even at least and could sell some season tickets.
  24. I have been saying that for years. When I was editor of TBD I did not post any of those personal blogs but it did not prevent others from doing so.
